What to do with old school books?
brewsterbudgen replied to brewsterbudgen's topic in Primary & Secondary Education
Thai and English. -
Just beware a bogus 500 baht fee. It transferring stamps to a new passport should be free, but some offices make a charge, including Hua Hin. Resist!

It's not a mystery. Any post giving the game away before midday was removed (including mine) in order to keep the joke going. -

Love the Harry Potter book! Wish my son wrote like that. I'll see if the school accepts donated books. Any other suggestions gratefully received. -

I had thought of that, but most of them have been written in and look well-used. Do most schools take back used books? -

Don't hold your breath - just do as you're told and wear a mask! It's not rocket science. -

Hopefully the Tourist Police will be used to enforce this measure. -
My son has just completed year 3 (Primary) at an English Program school and has a huge pile of course books and work books, both English and Thai. Most have been written in, although some appear to be virtually unused. He'll be getting new books when the new academic year starts in May. I still have his books from P2 as well! What do most parents do with them? Just dump the whole lot in the bin? Can they be recycled in any way? Keep them for posterity?

brewsterbudgen replied to bobbin's topic in Thailand Cannabis Forum
People complain about the air quality in Thailand - and then smoke?! Strange world. -
Good grief. I guess it's a good thing the Forum is attracting lots of new posters.

I have enjoyed my time in Thailand, but...

I agree. Very happy to be raising my son here rather than in the UK! -
Regency medical Insurance for expats
brewsterbudgen replied to Happy happy's topic in Insurance in Thailand
I switched from Regency for Expats a few years ago, as they wouldn't pay for a private room for my child. All rooms have to be "semi-private". -
Bye Bob. Thailand certainly isn't for everyone. At least you can still keep entertaining us on this Forum.

I suspect this is just a wind-up thread, but if not, why would the OP want to do this?

In someone's home, yes. The thread is about shops. -
Removing shoes going into a shop- selective hygiene?
brewsterbudgen replied to Scouse123's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I'm not sure I'd want to visit a shop where they are "sick" of cleaning the place! Must be like a pigsty inside. Surely cleanliness is essential when running a business for the public? -
First British passport for second child: DNA test?
brewsterbudgen replied to NanLaew's topic in Q&A, Ask the Consular Team
No DNA test required, assuming you have all the correct supporting documentation.
