I bought a 'new' (i.e. second hand, but better than the original) samlor a week or so ago, and was looking for a very poor Thai person to give my old samlor.
To cut a long story, short - I saw an old Thai guy who was obviously very poor today, and so told him he could have my old samlor.
The reason I got rid of the old one is that it had to be used every couple of days, or it was very difficult to start. As it hadn't been used for more than a week, it was obviously going to be incredibly difficult to start, so I asked a few Thais to help him.
They had zero interest in helping this very poor guy ☹️, and I had to ask the 'bike repair shop (for the second time) to come to my house to sort out the problem....
This incident has left a very bad taste in my mouth when it comes to Thais' attitude to the very poor amongst them.

Sure, if the current proposal fails, everything is up for discussion again. The two parties may even call a court should they not come to an agreement.
The only question is whether that would be the right priorities or there might be more urging topics to negotiate, namely a future trade agreement. You can dance around 39 bn for three years while every day without a trade agreement in place costs you.
And the eu.....
But the point is that a poster was claiming that the 39bn payment was "undisputed", whereas in reality it appears to be a number 'picked from the air' with absolutely no justification.
Even if the uk agreed to pay the 39bn, it doesn't include any trade deal!
They're all playing silly buggers to keep the uk within the eu.
But I could be wrong. Let's see whether the eu agrees to another extension despite all their protestations that the 12th April is the final deadline unless the eu/may deal is agreed.

Bloody hell, it's so complicated!
I bought a VPN (Nord), but it doesn't show on my laptop (without signing in to my account) whether or not I am connected, as far as I can see....
It is clear though that I'm only getting the Thailand Netflix service ☹️. I'm going to have to bring in someone who is IT literate to see if they can sort this out.

Google and see what shows play in your home country but not in thailand. Check with VPN on and VPN off.
I typically watch US netflix and "The Walking Dead" is what I look for, among others, to make sure im on US Netflix.
Thanks for that, but unfortunately I haven't yet worked out how to see whether my VPN is on or off. As mentioned previously, I'm IT illiterate.
But checking to see whether 'The Walking Dead' is available is a great idea.

And the real cheap way to "help"in the short term would be to stagger u turns at 800 metres distance and ONE WAY only so you can actually have a CLEAR view of the road, also only make them wide enough for ONE car as there's always some git who will not wait and drives right to the front causing even more problems as theyre too important to wait at the back of the U Turn queue.
Agree entirely.
Living in Rawai, Phuket, they've recently changed it. Previously, it was possible to do a U turn anywhere, but now it's only possible at certain points..... If there is a four-wheeled vehicle doing a U turn from the opposite direction, it's impossible to see oncoming traffic without edging out further and further into the road to see what is coming in the slow lane. If the four-wheeled vehicle finds a gap and moves, the other vehicle is left in the middle of the fast lane!

Yes, you can only get Netflix Thailand content. Netflix Thailand's monthly fee costs the same as the US, so paying the same for less content isn't a bargain. Netflix content from the US servers can be streamed via the internet if you have a reliable VPN or Proxy that can bypass Netflix's geographically detection blocky software. I have a US account and stream Netflix US content through my laptop by HDMI to view on my TV using a Proxy which also gives me access to US TV, AUS TV, BBC I-Player, VUDU and other geographically or regional restricted content. You could do the same.
Being IT illiterate, I understand very little of this ☹️.
Having recently bought Netflix and a VPN - how do I know whether I'm only getting Netflix Thailand content?
The films/series I've watched on Netflix don't block out cigarettes/weapons etc. etc. as per normal Thai TV - is this an indication that it's not restricted to Thailand content?

Not really a link , (but a copy paste I did )referring to answer in the H.O.C. from the Gov. lawyer Cox in referring to the 39 Billions...( that moment HOC MP's asked Cox to give clearing (forced ) of the legal bindings they would not open voluntarily ….), May has always danced around specific figure when asked ….. (as usual on hot items …
) but in future happenings true story about it shall arise on surface undoubtable ….
18:17
Philip Davies, the Tory Brexiter, asks if the UK would have to pay money to the EU if it left without a deal.
Cox says he thinks the UK would have to pay money. A Lords committee said that the UK would not have to pay anything under EU law. But the UK would have obligations under international public law, he says. He says you could try to argue that those obligations did not apply, but he says he thinks that argument would fail. And he says, if the UK did try to avoid paying what it owed, there would be reputational damage. If you leave a club, you do not go without paying your bar bill, he says.(The chancellor P.Hammond also has always spoken in same way when asked in other Q & A in H.O.C....)
One from PM. T May
23:30
"What are we buying with £39bn of taxpayers' money?"
Chief Tory Brexiteer Jacob Rees-Mogg asks the PM: "What are we buying with £39bn of taxpayers' money?"
The PM dismisses Rees-Mogg's claim there is no legal obligation on the UK to pay a Brexit bill, saying there are "legal obligations" that would have to be paid "in any circumstances" when the UK leaves the EU.
In other words the 39bn is far from "undisputed" - and the 'calculations' have still not been revealed!
And tomatcht8 accuses others of being ignorant of the 'facts'.....

At last - someone who has seen how the 39 bn has been calculated!
Would you post a link please, so that us non-understanding populists can learn why the 39bn is "undisputed"?

It wouldn't suprise me at all if leave opinions are becoming more entrenched as a result of the fiasco that has happened since the referendum result.
I didn't vote in the referendum (mostly 'cos I trusted brit. politicians even less than eu politicians ☹️) - but am now a firm leaver, as uk (and to a lesser extent) eu politicians cannot be allowed to get away with thwarting the referendum result.
Edit - but I accept, there is a hole in my argument ☹️.

It's the remainers on these threads that resort to insulting those with whom they disagree.
Every now and again a leaver responds in the same way, but it's a rare occurrence.

By the time this is through, you guys in the UK will have Merkel as your prime minister and Macron as your foreign minister. And you'll be standing in line with Greece and Italy to see if the EU will approve your budgets.
To be fair, that's a future dream for the eu.

I'm pretty sure that the entire electorate is sick and tired of this ongoing fiasco....
Presumably that's the intention of MPs, to get them to accept any bad deal (or accepting them revoking article 50) to end the uncertainty and chaos?
I doubt it will work, but as I'm not living in the uk have no idea as to the 'mood'.

Lucky country to get a comedian in charge, instead of the humourless incompetents that have normally run the countries I've lived in. Might brighten up the day, instead of sucking all the joy out of life every time they go on tv.
Looks like the UK may soon get Boris as PM, and he's as good as a comedian.
Quite.
A comedian might be a step up from politicians ☹️.

The EU. That's the con. Just not a lot have gotten around to seeing it that way. Especially the current parliamentarians who mostly see their post-Westminster 'good life' serving as a MEP under serious threat.
It's not that simple.
Do you think MPs will get many directorship/consultancies (etc. etc.) with big business if they support leave??

Looking back to early Brexit threads here on TVF, dozens of Brexit supporters have seemingly evaporated leaving only a handful of Brexiteers doggedly posting in support of their failing Brexit.
It’s human nature, when people get conned a small minority will double down on the con they bought into, the majority will simply stop talking about their foolish choice and hope it goes away.
I suspect most were banned for one reason or another.
I was 'on the fence' prior to the referendum - but now am a leaver as if the brit. govt. is allowed to get away with ignoring the referendum result, they will be even worse in the future....

Having said that, can someone explain me how a low-tax hub of free trade agreements worldwide will be LESS subject to globalist pressures?
Second attempt to reply to this post (I'll save my reply this time.....).
Personally, I decided not to vote in the referendum as I think the brit. govt. is even worse than the eu when it comes to considering the poorly paid.
But after this farce by brit. govt./MPs/eu - it's become very obvious that they cannot be allowed to get away with overturning the referendum result. If they manage to do so, they will become even more oblivious to the populace.

Whilst it would be fun watching both the tories and labour scrabbling about to come up with a manifesto (leave/not leave/brino????), it would cause even more uncertainty and chaos ☹️.
Personally, I think MPs and parties need to come up with a decision as to where they stand on brexit before the next GE is called.
Having said this, my opinion is partly selfish as sterling is low enough - without bringing in the uncertainty of another GE.
