ATM were introduced to be cost and labor saving devices for the banks

Once they succeeded in lowering costs the Thai banks now want profits as well as cost savings

A retailing concept that will never work in Thailand is the concept of a loss leader:  a price or service that is priced low to get you into a business, not to keep you there

..isn't that a soft fraud, particularly when they lend money knowing full-well it will fail?

..Excuse me but the only person who can certify Life Extinct is a qualified medical practitioner..or is it Dr. Sanook...i doubt it..RIP young man..if the officer had his reg number and physical description then he should follow-up at a later date..pursuit hardly warranted in this case for such a minor traffic matter.

I recall a story about a guy who jumped into a lion's enclosure in Kiev zoo, claiming 'if god exists, he will protect me'. He didn't survive and more than ever I believe in lions!

When global warming, plastic pollution, air pollution and all the other horrors that the civilised world is inflicting, finally destroys the planet we call home, it will be the 'uncivilized tribes' such as these that will survive and start over.

I hope they make a better job of it next time around.

I ALWAYS have a copy of my passport and visa in my wallet, and a photo of both in my phone, and I also email these photos to myself, so I can show police at the station, if allowed to use a computer and the internet.

If I am going to the beach for a swim, my license and photocopies go under the seat of the scooter, along with some small money, my wallet and phone stay home.

..and what if the Marine Police snaffle you 25m off-shore.

The thing is that anyone who is on a government pension can prove their income quite easy and it is also easy for the embassies to be able to verify government pensions. It would not take much for each of the embassies to have access to the amounts that are paid for the different government pensions. I can print mine out of official Australian government letterhead and it tells the type of pension that I am receiving so how hard would it be for the embassies to have a list of the different government pensions to check.

..no doubt some of the print shops in Khaosan Rd have them all on file.
