Flame Jelly Fish Found on Phuket Beach in Wichit
The Old Bull replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Was swimming along and saw a big red bastard in front of me. I tried to dive under it but got caught on the back. It felt like someone got me with a whip complete with red lines. It stung for an hour or two then went away. -

Rise of the Machines (ATM's)
The Old Bull replied to Tropicalevo's topic in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
I use the cardless withdrawal using the phone app. The only problem is it will only work in one of your own bank's ATM's ,still it beats fiddling with a card. -
And the next brake failure news story will be......
The Old Bull replied to London Lowf's topic in Phuket
The bigger vehicles like 18 wheelers have slack adjusters on the brakes. You have to crawl under and tighten them up as the pads wear out.Looks like they are too lazy to do this. -

Korea bans killing and eating Dogs - will Thailand follow?
The Old Bull replied to kwilco's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Just came back to Udon Thani after a trip to Sakon Nakhon and Nakon Phanom. There are definitely very few stray dogs to be seen there compared to Udon Thani. Maybe they were all sleeping in the shade or maybe that plastic bucket guy came out of retirement or never retired. -

Monk Dies, 37 People Injured after Bus Crash in Northeastern Thailand
The Old Bull replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
You need look both ways before entering a one way street also if you are at the front of the line when the light turns green you definitely need to look both ways and watch for motor cycles coming through on the inside. Remember these and you will most probably be OK driving in Thailand. -
Prince Andrew 'spent weeks' at Epstein home - witness
The Old Bull replied to CharlieH's topic in World News
Private jets to private islands , hundreds of pounds for massages. I find it hard to believe those girls would not expect to be called on to share some skin. Easy money at the time hanging out with the rich and famous was enough at the time. Now they are older and see the potential they are out for a bigger payday. -
Trump says Civil War ‘could have been negotiated’
The Old Bull replied to CharlieH's topic in World News
All the wars including the civil war the US are involved in are about money. To get the public to accept them they have to appear to have a righteous cause. Usually bringing democracy to people that did not ask for it,In the case of the civil war it was freeing the slaves. The proof of this is in the treatment of freed slaves. The US is very good at getting poor men to fight for the rich man's money, goes right back to the war of independence. -
Tour bus accident in Thailand leads to severe injuries
The Old Bull replied to webfact's topic in Southern Thailand News
Buses in Thailand are way under powered, so when they get up to a decent speed they don't want to slow down. The drivers are frustrated when they have to crawl up hills the should be able to cruise up. I think this definitely a case where more power would be safer. -

Another dangerous place is waterfalls during the dry season as all the rocks around are worn smooth by the water. I slipped at one of these places popped a big toe nail. I bent it back and taped it and it was doing fine till I got bit on the toe by some kind of large ant. Made my toe swell up and popped the nail again. No fixing it second time.

Is this the future for EV cars?
The Old Bull replied to kwak250's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I look at the massive flow of traffic, six lanes above and six lanes below plus two lanes each side and wonder where all the electricity would come from if each one had to be plugged in every night. Somebody has not thought this through as most of Thailand's power comes from burning fossil fuel in the form of LNG. -

Fatal accident in Ayutthaya as tyre burst leads to van crash
The Old Bull replied to webfact's topic in Central Thailand News
The driver did not have a good grip on the steering wheel. I had a front tyre burst on a 1965 Plymouth when doing 115mph. The car floated till it got down to about 50mph then I had to hold the wheel real tight till it got down to 30mph and settled onto the rim.
