Late with 90 day reporting?
mikeymike100 replied to Batty's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If you missed your 90 day report and then left the country, I understand the 90 days resets? So when you return you have 90 days from the arrival date. I also understand the IO at the airport doesn't really care, but if you missed a 90 day report, left Thailand and came back, then did your normal 90 day reports, would it affect a renewal of a retirement extension of stay, for example? -
Definitely agree with you, if you take a girl from a bar, its very unlikely you will have a problem? However it all falls under 'prostitution', I know that the LB's on Beach Road have been a problem, stealing stuff etc, but the cops go after easy targets? The go go bars pay protection to the police and expect just that?

Wise (Formerly TransferWise)
mikeymike100 replied to Emeraldisle's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Have used XE, but there time from taking it from your account, via debit/credit card or whatever is much longer than Wise. Usually 1-2 business days, I had a problem once and it took over a week. Wise, usually the money is in your bank in seconds? -
AOT to Add Personnel as International Arrivals Surge

It can take over 30 minutes for the plane to reach the gate, it can be stuck on taxiways, all the gates could be full etc? Would have to be from when the plane reached its stand at the gate and the cargo doors are opened? -
Probably very low, but unless you live in Thailand its immaterial? English is the most widely spoken language in the world and certainly if you are Thai and want to get a job, or live outside of Thailand, speaking English would be a necessity?

You would be totally crazy to carry your original passport with you at all times. The chances of being stopped and asked for it are extremely small, usually a picture on your phone, showing the details page and when you are allowed to stay will suffice, if you are stopped. https://www.businessinsider.com/why-thailand-has-a-large-market-for-stolen-passports-2014-3?op=1 If you lose your passport or get it stolen its a much bigger problem than the police asking for it, plus the expense and hassle!

I have seen many posts, not just in this thread, but on many occasions some folks say you have 24 hrs to take it to the police station, or a picture on your phone is OK or you need the original document, its the law. Not arguing with you, but to clear up the obvious confusion, to which law are you referring?

Travel liquid restrictions set to be scrapped !
mikeymike100 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
"Since November 2006, passengers taking liquid in their cabin luggage have been restricted to clear plastic bags holding no more than 100ml, which must be shown to security staff. " The question is why has it taken so long, (2006-2022), that's 16 years to develop this new scanner? Its basically a CT scanner, the same as used in hospitals, which takes a 3D X-ray?
