Really you would have to have heard how he said it. Did he say it in a sarcastic, joking way, or was he serious? Problem is now people get offended at the smallest criticism or comment. As he is German and was speaking English did he understand exactly the meaning of his words?

So if the injured person doesn't report the crime, then the police let her go?? The fact that she has assaulted someone isnt enough? Amazing Thailand!!

He was a stupid tourist, who made a mistake, gave Himself up and apologized. He just get fined and sent home. The captain should also be fined! You are suggesting I am bashing Thais? How can anyone expect a tourist who is on vacation to know everything? However the captain of the boat should definitely know and should have explained to the tourist, what he can and cannot do.
