  1. You should try India, where the accelerator pedal seems to connected to the horn? Then there's the motorbikes!????
  2. So (not) clever of you to feel the need to comment, about my wonderful comment!????
  3. Maybe your mixing with the wrong type, you need to be more selective?????
  4. Yes, very interesting and makes perfect sense! What i have noticed is that a small number of posters have said you should carry your passport because its the law, but when questioned what law, nobody can actually quote which law and its reference?
  5. Americans in general speak better English than many Brits? Unless you go to Texas of course?????
  6. Probably very low, but unless you live in Thailand its immaterial? English is the most widely spoken language in the world and certainly if you are Thai and want to get a job, or live outside of Thailand, speaking English would be a necessity?
  7. Absolutely and looks like the 90 day reports work too?????
  8. You would be totally crazy to carry your original passport with you at all times. The chances of being stopped and asked for it are extremely small, usually a picture on your phone, showing the details page and when you are allowed to stay will suffice, if you are stopped. https://www.businessinsider.com/why-thailand-has-a-large-market-for-stolen-passports-2014-3?op=1 If you lose your passport or get it stolen its a much bigger problem than the police asking for it, plus the expense and hassle!
  9. I have seen many posts, not just in this thread, but on many occasions some folks say you have 24 hrs to take it to the police station, or a picture on your phone is OK or you need the original document, its the law. Not arguing with you, but to clear up the obvious confusion, to which law are you referring?
  10. "Since November 2006, passengers taking liquid in their cabin luggage have been restricted to clear plastic bags holding no more than 100ml, which must be shown to security staff. " The question is why has it taken so long, (2006-2022), that's 16 years to develop this new scanner? Its basically a CT scanner, the same as used in hospitals, which takes a 3D X-ray?
  11. "In their headline and picture caption they made light of the issue intimating that the reason for the overstay and illegality was that the sea there was so beautiful." As I thought the Immigration police just do not have a sense of humor?????
  12. From the article: "Police decided not to charge the man with any crime as they believed he was suffering from a mental illness and needed assistance instead." So they helped the unfortunate guy with some food, water , clothes, not much else the could do really?
  13. Same her, no problem, just hit the X and it disappears.
  14. Yes indeed, looks like they don't want to go home, I wonder why?????
  15. "Police Region Two and Immigration Police arrested a 34-year-old Chinese man and five foreign employees for running an illegal hairdresser’s shop in Pattaya." Well at least it wasn't an illegal casino?????
  16. Agreed! But in the UK they are called colloquially a JCB?
  17. In the picture, yes its an excavator I agree, not backhoe? But in the OP they call it ,mistakenly, a backhoe? "A backhoe was used to crush the weapons behind the police station. "
  18. Yes in the picture in the OP it is an excavator as you say, but a Backhoe,or backhoe loader is known colloquially as a JCB, in the UK. https://www.jcb.com/en-us/products/backhoe-loaders
  19. Thailand and especially the TAT only care about one thing, Money!
