  1. Yup, a big building with Amway on it heading away from the 2nd ring rd heading away from the airport in Chiang Mai.
  2. Will use only if it cuts out 5hrs of the 7hr layover for the CNX to LAX flight! Actually not a bad airport to get stuck in if you like airports.
  3. "It is a face massager on our popular selling website" Ya, had a Soi 6 girl use one to stimulate her cheeks. I asked her how it felt but all she could do was mumble as her mouth was full. It was a very stimulating and satisfying conversation.
  4. How dare you forget the ever satisfying Chinese eggplant!
  5. I think you get strange looking faces no matter where you put it!!
  6. Ya, into the economy but not directly into the tax coffers. If they would get their act together about taxing the Thai people on the income we are putting in, they could get the slice indirectly.
  7. May I refer you to King Canute and the tide 😉
  8. 1 hr ago. The Ping has overflowed at the U-Turn under the bridge near NIS school, now impassible. The ground water and storm drains in our moo ban are starting to back up a good 2km from the Ping.
  9. The Ping River near our house. The U-turn under the bridge near NIS school is impassible. Ground water and storm drains are staring to back up at our house a good 1.5 km from the Ping.
  10. What the heck kind of survey is this? Agility? Heritage? Movers? Power? Just who was the target audience for this survey? Quality of life and a couple of others I understand, but the rest?
  11. Looks like the border warlords and the military have come to an understanding 😉
  12. Ya, Ping river flooding tends to hit southeast of old town the worst.
  13. The Ping river near NIS school at the U-turn under the bridge is at it's brim, have never seen that before. It is just barely starting to creep over the top. If it rains hard tonight... Hope everyone stays safe!
  14. You sure your talking fiscal policy and not the state of the average bar girl fake breasts?
  15. Hmm, USD hits 32 and 4 months later 36. so, 12.5% in 4 months tax free. May have to get the Mrs to meander down to the private exchange guys for some $s soon 😉
  16. So, I hardly see a police officer anywhere. Now they want the citizens to do their work for them? 55555
  17. The other other white meat.
  18. Thanks for the quick response, Google search did come up with Villa Market but no shop in Chiang Mai, one in Udon Thani, but not here. Was trying to see if anyone stocking locally. Wife will have to see if can be shipped if no one knows of any local vendor for it. Thanks again!
  19. Hi Guys, anyone know where in CM sells this? Wife was able to find a couple of bottles at a Japanese restaurant but would like to find it at a store. Restaurant sold it to her for 1250 baht but know there are stores in BKK selling it for about 800 baht-ish. As always, thank in advance!
  20. Ya, the Ping river up here in Chiang Mai is the highest I've seen in many years. The train from BKK to CM stops south of here because of a land slide that took out the supporting land under the track. If Chiang Rai and we get any more heavy rain, going to have soggy knees me thinks.
  21. Copy of a post I did in another group: So, a lot of this has to do with reporting and ability to enforce this potential new Thai tax situation for us as Thai tax residents. I am an American citizen. Thailand participates in FATCA Model 1 where Thailand reports my accounts in Thailand to the US but the US does not report accounts to Thailand. The US does not participate in CRS so no information to Thailand through that system. If Thailand wants a Tax Clearance letter from the US IRS, that only says I have filed my returns and that they are paid up. It offers no information about income, so nothing there. So, Thailand trying to find out what I have in the US is impossible at this point. Going forward, almost all money being brought into Thailand will be my Social Security for my wife and I (which is now being deposited into its own separate bank account) which is not taxable to Thailand according to the DTA. However, If they ask for my US income tax returns, I'm leaving. I only bring in what I need to live on and qualify for extensions (non-O based on marriage, so use that to live on after stamp), the rest stays in the US for investing and such.
  22. Heading to BKK Bank today to ask them about opening a USD account where we can online move money from Baht to USD then back again to baht when the baht weakens . Had a chunk over here already due to visa extension (got stamped Fri) and the wife just sold some land so have a few bucks to play with.
  23. Ya, Going in to BKK bank tomorrow to ask about USD account. Can we online both, deposit baht from baht account into USD account and exchange back over to baht account when the baht weakens. Save the wife from going to the bank and coming home with actual USD.
