Thai government considers recriminalising cannabis
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
However, he estimated that the personal gains could increase to tens of billions of baht [in a few people's pockets] if the law on cannabis control is passed. -
UK and Thailand to boost scientific research and English proficiency
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Well I have to say this is probably one of the great out of touch comments for a long time. May I suggest drunk Glaswegians (English native speakers) be hired to encourage the learning process and the understanding of spoken English. This is just a corperate deal. Happens every now and again and nothing changes. International schools maybe but these are for a very small minority of the school population in Thailand. The privileged few. -
Thai government plans 7% VAT on imported goods from May
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Reduce import and excise tax and introduce a VAT. Mmmm? Seems like kindergarten was back in for this one. Shhhhhhhh! No one will notice. -
Not scaremongering. Pushing an agenda. Plenty of practice at this over the last 3 or so years.

Normal temp for April? My guess is yes and my guess is Issan. These nonsense weekly/bi-weekly excuses for writing articles about the hot season being hot HAVE TO STOP.

UK police catch British pedophile at London airport
dinsdale replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Interesting comment. Child brides. Definitely Western. Child prostitution. Yep. Not Asian or Arabic but Western. Can you please base your comment on something. Anything but not the Catholic Church of course. Already normalised there centuries ago. -
Thailand to Face Unprecedented Temperatures Another rubbish headline. Seems someone or something doesn't know the meaning of unprecedented. 43°C-45°C is without doubt hot and April is shaping up to be a hot one BUT these are not unprecedented temperatures in the hot/dry season. 46°C+ for a few days and then it becomes a story.

Foreigner Questions Thai Dowry: Netizens Respond
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
So her family knocked down the price 330k to 230k. They were negotiating with him to drop the price? I DON'T THINK SO. Sloppy if any editing. "Married in 2023 to his 47-year-old wife from Isaan, after four years of online courtship, he agreed to pay 300,000 THB but was later negotiated it down to 150,000 baht and 80,000 baht worth of gold, reported Daily News." -

dinsdale replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Money than enough for decent educution facilities, more teachers, better equipment and more nurses for hospitals, employment programs etc, etc. I mean there must be billions of corrupt money. -
PM Seeks Funding Solution for Digital Wallet Plan
dinsdale replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
More thought bubble idiocy and populist nonsense. "Let's do this." "Good idea. How will we pay for it" "Dunno." "Excellent idea." "Thank you. More whisky anyone?" Loud applause! Morons -
Big Joke woes: Warrant issued for money laundering
dinsdale replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Big Joke woes: Warrant issued for money laundering "The outcome of this legal request remains to be seen, .... ." This means the issuance of a warrent has not yet been granted by the court. Once again a complete rubbish headline from pseudo journalists.- 98 replies

Move Forward eyes new path to power in Thailand with local elections
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I think this point needs some expansion i.e. why it failed to form govt by using the conjunction because. Everyone knows what needs to be written after the conjunction. "The reformist party won last year’s national election but failed to form a government because.......... ." -
Thailand in talks with China to swap submarine for naval vessels
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Only a guess but I reckon 2 patrol boats or a frigate would come in at substantially less cost. A big load of money down the crapper which of course the initial purchase itself was. -

Lawyer Sittra Biabungkerd to deliver data on alleged police bribery
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The thing is this should spark action. Problem is who does the action. The corrupt to investigate the corrupt is the reality. There is no other way because the top of every institution in Thailand is bent. I do, however, hope this is very juicy and damning 'evidence'. -

Thai Officials Announce "Innovative" Expat Health Measure
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The empty headed idiots are at it again. This is quite simply preposterous. Once again no real science is on didsplay here. Just a nonsence thought bubble proposed by idiots. -
Is this not a benefit for society. It's how things wpork. Business has a product. Product is sold to consumer. Business makes some profit which is injected back into society. Car and motorcycle purchase for an example. Sales to minors should not be allowed though.

By drugs you must include alcohol. So a better world without alcohol? I think it would be a better world if all drugs were legal and there was no relgion.

This is just opinion. A person who smokes dope can very well function in society. People who smoke dope ARE NOT constantly stoned. A minority maybe.

Three Thai dishes rank in the world’s top ten best, says Tasteatlas
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Agree with kai dow mai soop I hope. Delicious meal and I like it best for breakfast. But sure there's nothing that special about it and the variations and quality are quite variable.
