Pai is a tourist cesspit. The local people and culture has been ghettoized into the far corners of the valley. Between the hordes of tourists, rasta Thais from the south and pretentious Bangkok (and urban center) douches with fancy hotels there's nothing left. It will always be a lovely valley but it's totally spoiled I would say. Anyone who enjoys northern Thai culture should literally go anywhere else.

It's young men fresh out military service I think. They may have been at war in Gaza last month and then when they do their time they come to Thailand to relax and have fun and that's when the problems start. If these were middle class or even older Israeli people this wouldn't be happening I'm pretty sure.

Maybe this is old news or I forgot but those 4 Israelis that broke into the emergency room in Pai are being deported now. The comments on this video confirm other people seeing the same signs in other countries over decades. It's a pattern of behavior which led to this, Thai's just become "anti-semantic" overnight and target them over some prejudice based on a conflict happening overseas.

The average Thai person in Pai doesn't have any stakes in the conflict and they didn't ban them because of what the Jews are doing in Israel. It's strictly a practical matter for them because it's gotten that intolerable.

I didn't ban anyone, Thais did that. Unlike America where you dont' have the right to serve who want in your own business Thai's still have that right and so they use it.

They're dealing with young men in their 20s probably just came out of their required military training and act like punks. I saw No Israeli signs in Pai 20 years ago. I saw young Israeli men acting terribly too, in their own category for sure. They clearly had enough and did a full-scale ban to avoid problems and rightly so.

His point was anti-semitism is being conflated with being anti-israeli. If a 50 year old Jewish person from NYC comes to Pai they wouldn't make any connections with Israel. As a side note this is a great way to cause real anti-semitism. A bunch of punk kids show up acting like <deleted> and when you ban them for your business you get accused of "anti-semitism" i.e "hostility to or prejudice against Jewish people." What is the name of this thinking disorder where you can't understand averages and per capita? I see this come up over and over again any time there are conflicts between groups of people. Do we need to post crime stats again and show per capita break downs of which groups commit which crimes at which rates? We can also show crime states per country and you will be shocked to learn that not all countries have the same rates of crime.

Building yourself is the only way to get a good house in Thailand if you ask me. I don't want at any price one their crap housing projects and that's what most of the market is. If you're married and willing to take on the risk find your own plot of land (not from a developer!) and build something where you're not ass to cheek with your neighbors like the property developers will have you doing if you follow their program.
