I appreciate that it is called Amazing Thailand and that there is always the first time for everything, however as those offices are there to deal with Thai matters I somehow think you may be disappointed.

I was referring to Prayuts speech where he never mentioned this https://www.thainewsreports.com/2021/10/11/national-address-of-the-prime-minister-of-thailand-on-monday-11-october-2021/
Sorry I was quoting from the article, they seem to contradict each other and will probably change again tomorrow.

3BB Phuket
in Phuket
I live at the opposite end of the country in N Chiang Mai Province using fiber
Over the same period there seem to be regular “ break downs” often running into the next day.
Their service is usually good but it’s wearing too thin for me.

Dissent in the ranks again, this is not what Prayut said in his speech:
"All that visitors will need do is to show that they are COVID-free at their time of travel with an RT-PCR test undertaken before they leave their home country, and do a test in Thailand, after which they will be free to move around Thailand in the same way that any Thai citizen can do."
Having re read the article he is quoted as saying in paragraph 6 that tourists will have to spend one night in an ASQ hotel while awaiting the result of the test and for which they meet the cost.
I am not a tourist but I am not prepared to travel until apart from having the vaccination passport or whatever I can get on the plane, leave and return without all this bureaucracy.

Sounds very concerning. Good luck in sorting it out. I have accounts in three banks here. I would recommend that people sign up for activity notification SMSs from their accounts with larger balances. That costs 200 baht per year at Siam Commercial Bank for example.
As I said in my earlier post I have also been affected with about forty withdrawals of same amount from BB account
I have notification system from bank but didn’t happen when the withdrawals occurred

I tend to agree, alternatively, who is better at understanding and dealing with Thai bureaucracy than Thai people.
Picked up my two year car licence today, chauffeur driven, set out at 7am, call at doctor's for certificate, back with license just after lunch. A big thanks to my wife and friends who arranged all
Just lucky I guess ????
I do the same and don’t have any issues the point I was making was just follow the rules even if you don’t like them it’s no big deal for me.

I was going to give you a Saddo emoj, but then you come from Australia, your last paragraph says a lot about that country.
Totally agree why do you think I left and live here?

In response to the original poster John Smith I have had exactly the same thing happen in the last few days and for the same amount from a savings account.
In my case there were 44 withdrawals the bank claim it was withdrawn via a credit card but not sure how that can work as my credit card and account not linked and the one they claim was used is an older one no longer used (but then I have no knowledge of scamming)
The bank seem to be on the case and will see what happens
Contact me if you want further I formation

He didn't mention how much we are all going to spend... suspicious me thinks.
Think of number double it and divide by the last number oh can't be bothered.
The 500 baht entry fee he announced recently will meet all costs.
I don’t think !!

The excitement and entertainment they get over there ...
It is not really the ' happy holiday for a family on a beach ' prospectus that attracts people , it is excitement and entertainment as well .
Let's face it : a mayor attraction of Thailand was it's sex workers ... even a family of ' normal ' tourists want to have a look at this at least , to have something to show and tell when back home .
If Thailand is killing this business , it shoots itself in the foot .
Spend a day on the beach or sightseeing , in the evening , go out for a good dinner in a restaurant , send the kids back to the hotel , and then go for a drink to a 'red light ' quarter , that is what many want .
Make Patts the new thai Las Vegas , would , f.e. be a huge money maker ...
So looking at a prostitute sitting in a window is exciting is it ?
Give me the windmills any day, what few there are, at least they move.

it's a positive development. At least not waiting for a confirmation at the very end of month - as many predicted.
He has confined 1st november for 10 countries (I hope that not naming all of them would open chance for more) and the 1st December for many more.
So sandboxes are getting in, instead of ASQ and ALQ.
Multiple tests are out one before departure (usually airlines need it) and one after arrival.
COE and insurance are doable, if somebody is serious on travel. CEO is free. Insurance can also be shopped around - 15k per year for under 75 yo. It might come handy in case of next waves, coming and going every few month, so money not wasted.
Those 3 weeks to beginning of November would allow travellers to plan accordingly and buy tickets from those named countries. So it can be easily done for all europeans to depart from Germany, for Irish passport from the UK, for canadians from the USA, any asian countries from singapore.
I am planning a trip to europe to Belgium, which is easy to enter, but return from germany
So that’s easy is it ?
When I travel I want to go to the airport get on the plane and get off at the other end.
I don’t want COE or extra insurance, Covid testing, traveling from Germany or becoming an Irish citizen
I will stay in Thailand thanks.

Draconian laws from a communist regime who utterly despise alcohol/bars, etc, and couldn't care less if Thai people go broke. An utter disgrace.
I don't think they are a communist regime in fact far to the right of the political spectrum.
Unfortunately Covid has given governments around the world the excuse to apply restrictions
previously unknown.
In Australia we have had power crazy State governments closing State borders at the drop of the hat leaving people stranded, while denying people the right to visit dying relatives.
Of course if you are a team of footballers or tennis players it’s no problem.
While this is happening police are enforcing health regulations by issuing massive fines

I remember my father telling me that by carrying out a certain practice it would turn me blind.
I remember responding that
“ could I do it a little bit and wear glasses”
He was obviously correct because at seventy one years old I now need glasses for reading and driving the car.

Some of the hotel staff, taxi drivers, Tuk Tuk drivers, restaurant owners and staff etc etc, in Chiang Mai that I have spoken to over the past year, I think would differ with your view.

The problem you face unfortunately as happens with most things in this country, is that whatever National provisions apply it can vary from even local area to local area.
Where I live people returning from Bangkok have been required by local “ officials” to quarantine for ten days, although it is questionable as to whether they had the legal right to enforce such provisions.
I would suggest that if it is possible you check with the places you are required to visit.

I have had two shots of AZ and down the track will have booster of whatever others are available, except Sinovac or Sinopharm
To the original poster I would suggest checking with some of the larger private hospitals in your area.
I got a call from Chiang Mai Ram a couple of weeks ago offering AZ, all gone now though.

I don't know , I truly despair at the amount of beauocracy, paperwork, call it what you like, involved in doing the simplest things in Thailand. Why do we have to keep repeating everything we do every frigggin year?
I learned many years ago that you either comply or don’t live here it’s that simple because they will not change.
Is it really such a huge issue renewing drivers licence every 5/6 years, 90 day reporting 4 minutes from leaving car to returning and now no documents.
Annual retirement extension a few hours.
When I think about the other things that are easier here I wouldn’t swap with living in Sydney again
At least here we have ‘t had the police fining people thousands of dollars for breaching Covid restrictions.

On Hawaii, where I live on a cold mountain, by the way, the Chief of the Airport fire station in Kona, explained to me after my neighbor was breaking in my house that he helped build and scaring me, that he has to be inside the door to be shot! Big guy carrying a club or machete! He told me to drag him inside the door if shot outside, but that was before OJ's trial showed that blood splatter patterns mean something: (you better tell the truth!) Aloha
This is Thailand not Hawaii different laws and culture.
The fire chief should stick to putting out fires not giving advice on legal matters.

The problem with this “using reasonable force” argument and there was similar public outrage in Australian many years ago, after a publican was charged after killing someone breaking into his premises during the night, is that it’s ok to be wise after the event.
Its ok in the cool of the day, discussing it at the police station or court room after the event, but when you are awoken by an intruder in your bedroom where it’s dark, how do you known what weapon they may have and therefore what reasonable force to use ?
Of course if you are killed it all becomes irrelevant anyway, for you that is.

That’s ok, I remember someone telling me that years ago in the UK that some people had an adaptor plugged into the light socket to allow the to use of an electric iron etc.
Also saw a documentary about when electricity was first introduced in the UK in homes the power cables were not insulated.
Now that would be fun.
