Yeah. People with authority told a group making noise to stop, they started a fight, and ended up worse off. Now they want to complain. They should have done as asked and not stated a fight. Hopefully the chap who intervened has leaned his lesson. It sounded like the article was going to be a groups of sailors beating someone up for asking them to keep it down.

Unfortunately people becoming "professional activists", as they see it as a way to make a living. They travel around repeating the same garbage far-left talking points that the people they're talking to all already know and agree with. That's why they end up saying this kind of thing, because people cheer and applaud it. I thought she was interested in the environment! What happened to that? People started to lose interest?

Is there anything good about getting old?
BangkokReady replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Click on your profile picture at the top left of the screen to go to your profile, scroll down a little and you should see "account settings" towards the right hand side - click that, look over to the right on the next screen and you will see "other settings", under that click "ignored users", on the next screen type the user's name into the "Add new user to ignore list" box and it should come up with options for what you want to block. It doesn't block posts, unfortunately, so if they regularly post, you will still see the titles. -

I'm closer to 70 than 60, just started a new job, teaching science to 'annoying children' 🙂 I really can't imagine retiring. I think the user you are replying to was referring to children of your own living under your roof, whom you cannot say goodbye to when the bell goes. -

Nah, you're not comparing like for like. You have to look at the level of food for each place to make a proper comparison. Western food is more expensive in Thailand, as Thai food is more expensive in the West. The OP shows some pretty mediocre Western food, so it isn't really high quality. To compare it to Western food in Thailand is not reasonable. "Thailand isn't cheap if you want to live exactly as you do in a Western country" is kind of meaningless as a claim.

Pheu Thai Pushes Bold Anti-Coup Legislation in Thailand
BangkokReady replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
A very weird situation. Coups are technically bad, but they got rid of Thaksin and Yingluck. Coups are a threat to democracy, but also the elected government can seem that way as well. 🤔 -

I think the important thing is to have something to live for, something that makes you happy and feel good. It seems like a lot of people who enjoy their youth, drinking and sleeping around, have nothing left when they get old. It's as though everything that brought them joy in life, that made them feel that they were them, related to their body and kind of ran out when they got too old. -
But potatoes and steak aren't as easily found in Thailand, so you aren't really comparing like for like, in terms of whether one place is cheaper than the other. How much is Thai food in Spain?

To be fair, apart from tourism money, most Thais don't want any foreigners in Thailand.

Thai E-Cigarette Debate Sparks Health Experts' Outrage
BangkokReady replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
and should we do the same for people that drink Alcohol? what about people that drink too much soda or eat too many snacks and get overweight. Should we hold medial care from them too? Yes! And if they hurt themselves in a way that could be foreseen, too! Motorcycles, fasts cars, sports, etc. No insurance for them either. That should get premiums down.
