Charged up for a little trip ……. Oh no , any number but that !!

I love finding these little features, it all adds to the joy of owning the car. Can’t help @macahoom out with his 0-100 question though, I haven’t done a timed run so not much help. I wonder if it pops up after you have done the run but doesn’t retain it anywhere ?

Congrats You made the right choice, and if you are going to wrap it the colour is not that important, although i would say the white is beautiful, my second favourite !

The short answer is yes you can save the screenshot to a micro sd card or a usb flash drive , I couldn’t see any way to transfer a screenshot to iPhone with my phone plugged into CarPlay or likewise save photos from my phone to the car. I loaded a usb and sd card with a couple of photos and plugged them in the car, by choosing the File Manager again and the relative sd and usb tabs I could resize to “ screen “ size and set as wallpaper. I could then move a screenshot onto usb and sd card folders using a long press on the screenshot and choosing “ move “. These screenshots can then be viewed on my laptop, as png files. I think the option to put your favourite photo or background pattern as your screen wallpaper is great …… now where did I put that porn 🤔

After having a a little play I discovered that you can take a screenshot of any page, by swiping from the top, with the exception of 360° cameras I think. These are saved in Utility Tools - File Manager - Pictures - Screenshots. You then have the option to make your wallpaper, Edit and other stuff. While making a wallpaper from your screen seems a little unlikely you could probably load some photos on a usb or sd card and take a screenshot/make your personal wallpaper of your dog, cat or even your wife/gf if you think it might get you some !! Now, whether you can load these screenshots on to your usb I don’t know, but will certainly have a play around. @sathornlover beat me to it !

So, I was a little confused by this photo and the question about screenshots. So today, waiting for the little lady, I had a little play around: Swiping down from the top of the screen accesses Shortcuts and there’s a “ Screenshot “ button. But by pressing the button it takes a screenshot of the home page and saves it, what use this is I am not sure unless I am missing something and you can screenshot any page or there is a hidden purpose to this action ?? Anyone ?

@JBChiangRai Re: the BYD badges. I bought 2 thinking front and back were the same but they aren’t, front is embedded. The badges I bought only fit the front as are too shallow for the rear. Decided against fitting the front also as it looks too “ chunky “ for my liking. Plasti dip or repainting the badges is still an option but the way the front badge is mounted ( not removable ) puts me off so will forget that idea.

Yeh, its okay, nighttime get a lot of glare from the car behind headlights, the height of it seems to cause that. I initially wanted it inside at the top middle ( away from the weather, headlights and any small bump would write it off down by the license plate) but the guy put me off by saying it would get glare from the brake light in rear window and had to see through the film although 40% on the front and seems okay ( 60% at rear window ). Wish I had pushed for inside now, I suppose he could move it for me ?. Initially I had it turning off after a couple of minutes as I found it a little distracting but now it is on all the time, rear view, and facing towards me and is okay. The guy is super busy and has a model for the Dolphin also, did an update yesterday ( small upgrades ) he posted a link to a google drive image doc which I added to my sd card and updated. It suits the Seal very well, very well thought out and no regrets ( other than inside v outside ). I see from some FB posts that the BYD dash cam won’t work if you install after the latest OTA and some are downgrading, installing the camera and updating to make it work ( same case for sideloading apps ). Seems a bit unlikely but plenty talking about it so just for your info if you have any issue with the BYD dash cam install.

Just had a look, everything on ADAS remains off except for the DAW but it has not given me any warnings yet. I do agree with the video guy that when you disable stuff they appear in orange on the instrument cluster which I think is unnecessary.

I just watched a bit of that, the guy is a tool, he has another BYD video, equally annoying. In my experience : I turned off lane keep assist when leaving the showroom, stopped to disable road sign recognition and when I got back home went through the other stuff and disabled what I didn’t want ( turned off the blind spot thingy as I find it distracting ). Haven’t had to make any further adjustments or had any warnings since, 24 days , except for the external sensors which alert when someone is near the car( when I am stopped ) and the seat belt warning when the little lady “ forgets “. The indicator can be changed to normal sound by the Standard/Brand button and I don’t get the screen start/stop music either ( not sure if that goes with the Brand button or has another button elsewhere ). Maybe AUS Seals are different ?, I keep meaning to go through all the settings since I did the OTA to see if anything has changed, will look tomorrow. I do recall that DAW ( Driver Alert Warning ) sensitivity hadn’t stayed off but I have never had the warning while driving ( coffee cup and text ) so forgot about that one.

Seen a few on FB have enclosed the whole thing but leave the door open when charging. Looks nice but have ordered a hook from Lazada.

They used an extension lead and plugged the 2 x 16mm cables ( ready to connect to the new meter ) into the socket on the lead. Tested the 40A breaker and the main breaker cut the power to the charger.

Wall charger installed today, 2 hours, the team were very efficient, and did a neat job, guess they have done a few of these recently. 9,300 baht, including an extra metre of 16mm cable and as someone posted before, no chance of a socket on the 2nd circuit. Showed me the procedure and got the app set up. Next step, back to PEA for them to come for inspection and later fit the TOU meter, another 4,300 baht or so . Looks like it needs a hook to hold the cable underneath or maybe a cabinet would be better, what has anyone done with their charger cable ?

Don’t suppose there’s any way to renew the yearly Lazada sim’s ? I have a max speed with 80gb monthly cap for 1180 baht on True from Lazada , normally i just buy another but it has become a PITA to change numbers every year.

When we moved in here 6 years ago the pressure would drop only at weekends but now it is any/every day. Never had the water trucks until 6 months ago. There’s a lot of construction nearby which I think is the reason for the decline in water supply, can’t see it improving unfortunately. I even tried a makeshift hosepipe directly from the meter to the tank ( as there’s a few 90° elbows underground which I thought might restrict pressure ) but nope … it’s just p1ss poor pressure !!

I have a routine now, the kid gets up for school at 6 so i get up with him and open the taps to fill the 2 inside bins ( using the pump bypass ), around 7 am the water pressure drops off to a dribble as people are waking up and showering/washing clothes etc. We use the bins for showering, watering the garden and filling the washing machine, everything else we use the pump and the 1500 litre storage. Initially we thought it was a temporary thing but now we have adapted to it and the moobahn do actually tell us via a line group when the water will be completely turned off.

Yes, we have 3 of those, 1 in our bathroom, 1 in the kids and one outside. We can fill these bins up slowly but it won’t make it up into the tanks ( an underground tank would be ideal ). In fact we have showered from these bins for the last 6 months ! Guy next door bought a small pump ( looks like a fish tank type ) and pumps water from a bin into his tank, I’ve been looking at ways to do it without using electricity but I don’t think it’s going to happen.

Yeah I never had the sounds so I can’t really comment but I had read it used to be 3 and now is only 2 which are reduced volume. I suppose they might be now an acceptable level for those who thought they were a good idea but too loud. Personally I’m happy they can be turned off. Yup, i imagine there’s a few “ updaters “ who don’t realise the AVAS on/off switch is in a completely different place. The Standard and Brand switches change the sound of the indicator, not sure any other things are changed with Brand.

Due to sporadic water pressure issues for the last 6 months ( don’t ask, it’s a long story ) here in Ayutthaya we have had 3 visits by water trucks and yes our experience has been the same. Two guys working non stop to fill the tanks of the moobahn residents, a couple of bottles of cold water are eagerly accepted.

Sorry that you are having issues with your Seal. I think the subject of which version we have is confusing as we have already identified 3 different versions on this topic before the OTA update arrived. Macahoom , as an early adopter, has the first version. Bandersnatch, who received his car some weeks after, had the second version Myself, who received the car Nov 30th , had the third version. Then came the OTA update which should bring us all equal. I believe the lane keeping warnings could be turned off on all versions and continue with the latest OTA update. As can warnings from speed signs , I currently only get a warning when someone is too close ( motorbike or pedestrian) to the car while stopped. My sat nav voice problem was resolved with the OTA update and the parking sensor issue you mention was, I believe, unique to the way I am currently parking my car. Although I do believe that the lack of parking sensors at the front ( the sensors are more on the front corners ) is an oversight by BYD. Hopefully you won’t get discouraged by the lack of experience from your showroom as the car is truly amazing and I believe all the owners on this thread feel the same.

There are instances of people repurposing EV batteries , there was a series of YouTube videos about someone stripping down an EV battery to use for his own home solar project. Also the guy, in AUS I believe, who bought a wrote off Atto 3 for the EV battery, his intention was to build an EV van ( not sure what happened to that project) . Upon stripping and posting his progress on FB he inadvertently started the “ rustgate “ saga.
