  1. I hope they do and introduce strict controls so cannabis actually only is to be used for medicinal purpose as it was initially not a free for all that every man and his sell on the open market. Thailand is already infamous for a few things let’s not add making cannabis freely available.
  2. Yes illegal where there is more than a certain number of residents in a condo. But if you question the owner would probably put the rent up.
  3. Plenty of Thai culture a couple of weeks after that, Songkran !
  4. Christmas presents for all the Police families, why don’t they donate to a childrens charity or to homeless people ?
  5. I was there last year, I can’t remember seeing any ony one with out one, taxi driver said the Police strictly enforce it.
  6. The article is headed zebra crossings not fruit ?
  7. Like many airports in the world, ground staff were laid off during Covid, they have now found more suitable employment and won’t return. Speaking to the staff on a KLM flight that was the problem at Schipol and has led to flight changes and cancellations. As long as the situation remains the same irrespective of the oil price the cost of flights won’t be reducing in the near future.
  8. I fink they are plenty of girls available on the net and much better looking than taking a girl from a bar paying exorbitant prices for their drinks and bar fines, the 2 week tourist might do.
  9. Not according to the Canadian Embassy, 30 day stamp Visa Exempt, tourism only.
  10. I went to Da Nang in October 2022 UK citizen no visa required, 15 day stamp for tourism. Some friends went to Phu Quoc a few weeks ago UK citizens no visa required.
  11. The traditional connection passed away a few years back, the new connection doesn’t have the same respect.
  12. 8 years since the last coupe, lots of more people eligible to vote, I can’t see them standing back and allow another army government.
  13. It was an ill thought out decision, make it illegal again, there are enough problems with one legal drug alcohol. No one knows the long term side effects of continued use of cannabis but we do with alcohol.
  14. No where but it needs to be regulated, it was legalised for medical purposes but now it’s a free for all. Yes the Thai government is known for flip flopping so anything could happen after the next election. If one of the major companies in Thailand was behind all the shops selling cannabis money might talk but they are all independent. The tobacco companies who are opposing E-cigarettes could also do the same with cannabis because currently it’s sold tax free.
  15. As far as I know there is no tax on selling cannabis albeit you have apply for a licence to grow or sell so how is the Thai government making money from it ?
  16. The Senate was elected by the current government mostly army personnel, whilst not up to date the constitution was changed to allow this, can the Senate block any new legislation ? Ruling parties fill the upper house with their own people like the House of Lords in the U.K. that’s why Labour would like it abolished because like Thailand the personnel are appointed not elected.
  17. Would it not have been cheaper to instal a back up generator instead of solar panels, you don’t how long the power will be for and with a decent size generator it should be sufficient to power everything indefinitely ?
  18. Obviously your understanding of grammar isn’t very good ‘we’ is a plural if it was me I would have said ‘I’, when I say ‘we’ I am referring to Thailand. My issues with cannabis is the way it was removed from the narcotics list with out any discussion, it was an individual trying to make himself popular pre election. You don’t know me so why do you think I am not a bit more travelled and worldly wise than the average back packer ? Looking at the time your post was written you had just come back from the bar, maybe you should wait to you sober up before writing a post which makes more sense instead of trolling me,
  19. We have enough issues with alcohol but at least it’s regulated, Cannabis should be put back on the narcotics list until it’s regulated, currently it’s a free for all. Also Back Packers who use Cannabis in Thailand need to realise that other countries they might be visiting have cannabis on the narcotics list. If they are in Bali say and have a test and it’s positive, they will be locked up.
  20. But the train could be derailed as the opposition who are odds on to win the election oppose the Cannabis Bill in its present form.Whilst they don’t have a problem with using Cannabis for health issues they are opposed to the current free for all.
  21. Prior to the break in the New Year when I received the daily newsletter by email there was a link so I could view a web version by clicking on the link at the bottom of the newsletter., this no longer available ?
  22. The world, unfortunately the reason so many Russians are in Thailand is because of the conflict.
  23. No screaming just commenting how many they are, in some ways the war has been a godsend for Thai tourism but not in the way we wanted.
  24. Strangely enough Thailand has just signed an extradition agreement with Russia, is draft dodging illegal, Russia could in effect ask for Thai Police to arrest them if Russia provided names which when they go to immigration could be arrested theoretically ?
