Need to purchase new tabletop gas burner. Suggestions?
CanadaSam replied to bamboozled's topic in General Topics
Banboozled, can you explain the thing on the left? I thought induction/infrared/electric burners had to touch the pot to heat them, but this has prongs to hold pots away from the top? -
Neck and shoulder pains from computer mouse
CanadaSam replied to bubblegum's topic in Health and Medicine
YES! I am shocked to see 90% of answers being about the mouse, or trackball, etc., when it is glaringly obvious that neck and shoulder pain is caused by bad posture!!! Sit up straight!!! -

MOPH’s plan to rub out illicit activities in Thai massage shops
CanadaSam replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I don't understand your point. Are the girls inside massage parlours having sex doing it in full view of families and children? So why are they cracking down on it, was my point. Also, I thought paid sex (prostitution) was illegal in Thailand? If it isn't illegal, as you say, then again, why are they cracking down on it? -
Korean tourist vanishes with free rent and cash in Pattaya
CanadaSam replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Hotels have money to pay for the services of the BIB. Apparently this guy didn't want to wake them up with some "tea money". -
MOPH’s plan to rub out illicit activities in Thai massage shops
CanadaSam replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
So the gov't now wants to stop what's happening in private, hidden from the public, inside massage parlours? No problem about the girls hanging around the streets in full view of families/children? What's next, cameras inside hotel rooms to ensure tourists are not bringing paid girls to their rooms? -
Pattaya City achieves 99.41 score in anti-corruption assessment

Bt871m Worth of Gold Seized from Ex-Revenue Chief Sathit Rangkhasiri
CanadaSam replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
After reading the negative comments, my 2 cents is, a corrupt gov't official was caught! So this is good news, perhaps even heralding a new era of accountability of gov't officials, for this wonderful country and it's people! -
Chinese Tourist Killed by Falling Tree While Ziplining in Chiang Mai
CanadaSam replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
I believe the zipline company has insurance of 500,000 for injuries and 1 million for fatalities? I am curious to know if the insurance company will state that this only covers accidents while zip-lining, and not crossing a bridge to get to and from the zipline. -
Changing your password may not stop the hacker from doing it again, because they may have obtained your password perhaps through an old phone number or e-mail address on your account, you need to check that all your personal information is up to date and correct, IMO.

Thai customer complains about buffet restaurant staff service
CanadaSam replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Reading your totally useless comments over several threads, I would suggest you get a hobby, and stay off AN when all you have to do is to criticize other posters for really minor errors like spelling, etc. Post when you have something interesting to say, not just useless barbs for no reason other than to antagonize people. Some would say troll-like behavior. Please stop it. Just my opinion.- 97 replies

UAE Tourists Attacked by Motorcycle Taxi Driver in Patong
CanadaSam replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Would have been nice to know if they were walking on the road, blocking traffic like Indians do, or were they on the footpath (where motorbikes often travel). -
I just completed this quiz. My Score 20/100 My Time 59 seconds

I grew up in Vancouver. Probably one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Now retired in Pattaya, and occasionally miss Vancouver, but the cost of even visiting there is totally ridiculous these days, so am pretty content here in LOS, especially with everything being dirt cheap, and the freedom to move around and explore this beautiful country anytime I wish.

He is asking for legal advice. How would a Thai woman living in the boonies know about Thai law? Liverpool Lou got it correct, (by saying pretty much what I said about banks having preferences on outstanding debts including mortgages) after the bank forecloses on her own house, and if there is still money owing, they can go after his house (because the land is owned by her).
-
This is where you need a Thai lawyer, because in many countries, it is not the first mortgage that is more powerful, but a mortgage to a bank which is. In other words, even if a bank registers their mortgage third or fourth after previous mortgages to private parties, the bank's mortgage gets precedence, strange, innit?

Chinese tourists accused of killing kitten with luggage
CanadaSam replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Temporary jailing of these chinese sadists and deportation would send a strong signal via chinese news media that this type of behaviour is unacceptable in foreign countries. Easiest way to solve the problem IMO. -
Thai Girl is almost perfect but are these serious problems?
CanadaSam replied to Cameroni's topic in Marriage and Divorce
Did she tell you about the herpes before you had sex with her? Did she explain why she had sex with the herpes guy without protection? Too many questions to honestly answer the OP's query.
