  1. They forgot about the golden rule of doing anything illegal: If you get away with it once, be absolutely sure that you will get nabbed the next time. Get out, before you get caught, don't play the game until you get caught!
  2. He's filming a movie, there happens to be a person specifically in charge of weapons, whose sole duty is to ensure the weapons are safe to discharge (blanks). So when he shoots it, he, and everybody else on set is absolutely sure it is safe to do so, there is no doubt about that, in anybody's minds! In no way is he responsible, in much the same way as if a car is stolen and kills some people, the owner of the car is not responsible in any way.
  3. Still amazed at Musk's ability to gather the right people together to make a booster rocket land at a pre-determined spot! They've all been trying to do this for ages, without success!
  4. Forgive my ignorance, but my experience with marijuana is limited to smoking joints offered to me at parties..... First I heard they want to criminalize "buds" then I heard they want to criminalize "flowers", whenever I see marijuana plants on TV etc., all I see is those distinctive leaves, that I presume we all smoke, or am I wrong? And what exactly is a bud, or a flower (never seen one on a marijuana plant!). Thanks in advance for the lesson in ganja!
  5. You mean in the reverse direction!
  6. Surprised that none of the Sherlock Holmes on this forum mentions that the police found the CCTV footage of her dropping the bag, but they did not see the bit where somebody picks it up! Same spot, same CCTV, but this crucial piece of information, which can solve the crime very easily, is somehow missing???
  7. Wrong! The Swiss Police only found that they have left Switzerland some time ago, probably by checking immigration or airlines. She has not been found, nor does anybody (I assume) know where she is!
  8. The above makes no sense. Was she not driving??? So where is the mention of the drunk driving charge??
  9. Thailand having a submarine is akin to a bird using a twig to fight with a cougar.
  10. Yes, I have a retirement visa (and many extensions). It's strange to never have been asked. Perhaps I look very rich 🤣
  11. They are inconsequential as they are not in control of the nukes. Whereas Russia, on the other hand, has so many low-level people in charge of deciding if WW3 should start (and end) with Nukes, it is truly scary. Oh my! For the (apparently) very few of us with a university education, and the inclination to read, watch and learn real science programs, a WW3 fought with nuclear weapons would result in the complete extermination of the human race, as a matter of fact. This is not to say that everybody would die from the bombs, but the radiation moving around the planet, the blackout effect from the sun killing all plant life, etc. will do that job quite effectively.
  12. I doubt very much that a 60 year old man would try to end himself due to a woman, IMO it would have had to do more with finances, or mental health, or possibly illness, etc.
  13. You did not just ask about getting a driving license, but also learning how to drive. I would STRONGLY suggest to you, that this is absolutely NOT the country where a beginner should try and "learn" how to drive, you WILL be in trouble very soon, and many times! ONLY a person who has driven in many countries, knowing the minor differences in each place, MAY be able to cope with the madness which occur on Thailand roads daily, 24/7! Even for those with extensive driving experience elsewhere, there is a really steep learning curve, which we ALL had to go through, to stay out of jail for hitting motorcycles speeding past you on the left side, cars coming out from a small side soi when you're actually going pretty fast down the main road, etc. etc. etc.! In the meantime, please consider bolt or the many other online taxi companies operating.
  14. IMO, there is a HUGE amount of media attention on when these falangs do really <deleted>ty and stupid things (perhaps encouraging others), but there is NO media reports of their punishment, which would dissuade others, obviously! I don't whether it's because the media simply is not interested in following up on these stories to tell us the conclusion, or if it's because there was no or very little punishment due to money being exchanged.
  15. 3 years on retirement visa and I have never been asked about insurance by anyone!
  16. How would Pita get into trouble for telling the truth? One would assume such a high level conference with many heads of state discussing sensitive topics would not be open to the public?
  17. Kudos to the woman, realizing the idiot was putting their lives at risk, and discarding the normal Thai routine of ignoring injustice, got into the driving seat, where she belongs. Safe journey, Madam.
  18. Idiots don't realize that they're following a "scorched earth" (um, scorched sky in this case) policy, destroying just one satellite creates hundreds, possibly thousands of pieces of debris hurtling around the sky, making every satellite vulnerable, and resulting in difficult maneuvering for any vehicle attempting to reach outer space.
  19. This little pu$$y whipped little tw@t deserves much worse for callously abandoning and also stabbing his own family in the back, bringing disgrace to the nation, and royalty, for a piece of a$$, IMO.
  20. AI strikes again? Or are there a long list of investors hoping to invest 12.17 billion, for a total revenue of 8.5 billion?
  21. Me too, but not by people scanning for payment, it's the ones that stand there playing with their phone after everything is done, not allowing people to put their heavy beers on the counter, or the girl checking her messages whilst still standing at the counter, not bothering to pick her bags up and move out of the f****** way!
  22. Now you have me totally confused with the above two statements!
  23. Again, it simply boggles the mind that out of 333+ million people, they can not find one, young, intelligent, sensible person to put foward as our future president?
  24. I can see why these embassies don't pay. This is actually a toll to "reduce congestion" on the roads. However, by and large, embassies use their vehicle to do their job, which is the reason they exist in foreign lands. There is really no way to reduce vehicle use by embassies, I would assume. So logically, this "toll" should not apply to them.
  25. Why? One word, TAX. IF alcohol is banned, people will make it at home and the gov't gets nothing from it. IF weed is banned, people will grow it in their backyards, and once again, nothing for those in power who need copious amounts of money from the population to sustain themselves and their next ten generations of family members in uber-luxury.
