  1. Oh dear God, a 9 month old fed yaba? Get that child very far away from this evil woman now!
  2. Perhaps the guys actual intention was to delay them so that he could get his share of the inheritance?
  3. There is a "tipping point" for every country's population. Many examples in history, i.e. France, when the masses simply descended on all those in power and cut all their heads off! I don't underestimate the people's disatisfaction and anger about what happened with Pita, and forsee that tipping point for the Thai people fast approaching.
  4. Something wrong here. It says the aircraft descended only 6000 feet in 3 minutes. Well within normal parameters, apparently. I'd like to know exactly what happened, perhaps something akin to a "microburst" or wind shear for only a few seconds doing all the damage, and then an intential descent by the pilot? Dunno.
  5. Thank you all for your valuable info and advice! Tomorrow, a visit to Land & Housing Bank, thanks to FreeWorld's input! And a last question for anybody still reading this, what about if I consider other options rather than banks, would you think Gold, or the Stock Market would be better?
  6. The weirdest possible scenarios occur when dealing with almost anything in Thailand! GSBank yesterday, girl tells me that if I put 10,000 baht every month for 24 months, I will get 6,360 baht interest at the end, and then can take the money out. I asked her, how about if I put the total 240,000 in a fixed deposit right now, how much interest will I get at the end of 2 years, she said "less". I simply could not believe it, because if I go her route of 10k per month, the bank has very little of my money for quite a few months, but if I deposit the entire amount immediately, the bank (technically & also logically) should give me a much better return at the end of 2 years. I asked to see the Manager, and she confirmed what the girl said! Sorry for the lengthy post, but my mind is totally blown, and therefore I humbly ask all of you learned people, where can I deposit a million or so baht for the maximum interest, for a year, renewable each year.
  7. Hub of government policy u-turns.
  8. It would not matter if they put up 10 foot high fences all along the race roads, there would be at least one or two Thai's who would be sure they could cross the road and not get hit.
  9. I think you people should get a room, or if you want to be in a public forum, explain what all these acronyms are, first.
  10. I doubt the police woman's finger was long enough to reach the uterus, it would have only been in the vagina. But I am not a doctor, so lets wait for the med reports.
  11. The extreme show of force in Palestine is a warning to anyone who would harm Israel or their people. So is this helicopter "crash", a simple tiny bomb put on a vital component, obviously by a mossad agent, of which there are thousands, and in every country in the world. A simple warning to any country or any leader trying to harm Israel. Good riddance! And probably message received by all muslim countries attempting to harm any part of Israel, or any Jew anywhere.
  12. You don't know the answer to life? 42 Somebody will clarify this soon for you, I'm sure!
  13. Happens all the time in Pattaya, especially with Russians. The GF is an agent. They sign a lease for a year which clearly states that if they leave early, their deposit is forfeit. It also states that sub-leasing (which is taking over the existing lease) is prohibited. Unfortunately, nobody really ever checks who is actually living in the condo, especially in large ones, so take-overs take place all the time here.
  14. Your family member is staying at the Sheraton, you say you are not familiar with Bangkok, you have a cast on your foot, yet, you are talking about taking the bus and BTS etc. which will probably cost you perhaps 50 baht. Splurge a little! Spend a whole 80 baht or so on a taxi when you arrive in Bankok!
  15. If you had mentioned where to get it, your post would have been far more useful to many of us.
  16. Excuse the ignorance, but I have always wondered what would happen if an owner borrowed some money from a loan shark against the blue book, and then got a new blue book from the land office and tried to sell the land? I assume the loan shark would not register the debt at the land office, like I assume all the banks do?
  17. A thousand apologies, good Sir, entirely my mistake!
  18. You have great timing, wanting to open right after the PM says he is going to outlaw it! And, a great business sense, because obviously, one on every corner is simply not enough, let's open some more!
  19. Personally, I feel that Thailand still has too many positives compared with living nowadays in North America. I'm on my third year, and loving every minute of it! Regarding him leaving, not really surprising if he couldn't handle a couple weeks in a luxury hotel room during covid. About driving, yes, one has to be a whole lot more aware of what's going on around your vehicle, and you can learn that pretty quick after a couple of close calls.
  20. Read through most of this, before realizing it has nothing to do with Thailand, so why is it on this forum!
  21. Strange, in many years, I have always found Jomtien to be quite polite and efficient. And it is obvious that they "try" to make life easier for visitors, during the long queues, they put fans up, then chairs, and now of-course, it is almost all a/c. But as I don't have experience at other branches, I can not compare....
  22. And the motto for this thread: "To Each Their Own".
  23. If it's the car in the picture, I will offer you 500,000 cash 😁
