  1. No failure as Biden's policy is to precisely to create more tension, better if a war. Oil prices will hike and profit to the US majors, not to mention the many juicy arms deals at hand. So No, it's not a failure, for them. Not to forget that a war is godsent to any politician on the tip of being rolled of the polls in the next elections. War is something that can turn a shrewd, incompetent or any corrupt politician into a hero. Just look at what happened in Ukraine. Few months before the Rusky invasion, Ukrainian society wanted the current government out. A week after the rusky invasion, the vilains of yesterday, become global rock stars. Once again, the Hamas terrorism is digusting and unacceptab le. But that is no reason to punish all civilians ? A reason to violate all the international conventions on War ? Same for the unacceptable Gaza bombings of Israel. But is that a reason to punish blindly israeli civilians amongst who, many want BiBi out of business. Civilians are the ones who are innocent, not to blame and suffer be it in the US, Israel, Gaza or Ukraine. All due to the corrupt political policies of their leaders.
  2. With True prepaid, by some miracle, as soon as one top's up, those hateful sms start and reduce the credit. People should only end up in using via wifi and passing calls through Wassup, Viber or Line. Wassup seems to be more or less a bit more secure but I could be wrong ? Golden rule of course is n e v e r to clik on any link. Even if it's a location map link, if possible I always ask for the address and then find the place on Google myself.
  3. Drugs are going to lead the world to it's doom. But with all the money involved and kickbacks at the highest level, nowhere close to stop.
  4. Yes they have abolished it. But what the point was in the initial comment is that it could be a good idea to restablish and consequently not require any further reporting. Thanks you for your interest.
  5. Even with 9990 Euros, the authorities at the airport can challenge within the European borders and ask to justify the origin of the funds. In case of transit through another country, it is always a good idea to check the local currency rules at the airport hub of transit. People can get trapped by respecting the regulation at the port of embarkment but end up violating a cash regulation specific of the transit port of arrival. Same with luggage. One can have an allowance of say 30kgs on leaving. But in case of changing flights with another airline on the way, always check their specific allowances that often are not as generous as many US or European carriers - and even if one pays it may not be always possible to upgrade luggage allowance within the domestic carrier.
  6. The TM6 can be a lifesaver, provided it becomes the sole and only reporting required. You fill it with your details on arrival, hand it at the airport to the nice I/O at the booth and that's it. Any other reporting, change of address not be required anymore. Foreigners are getting fed up in having to fill forms or going online throughout their winter stay in Thailand that usually goes from 3 to a bit less then 6 months now (to avoid the thunder of the taxman on the 181st day of stay!!). That would be useful and create less paperwork for the immigration and boost tourism maybe but mainly encourage the quality expats-retirees to stay and not leave. The people on long stay 3 months, 6 months or more, spend far more then the 2 week "quality tourists".
  7. Are they reserving their flight slots for their own airlines to take out all the wealthy and powerful who flee maybe ? Preventing people from leaving the country is also a form of taking them hostage. A bit like they have being doing with the Palestinians for ages in the worlds largest open air prison, Gaza. And now the rest of the world who will suffer all the collateral due to 2 mad sides fighting with of course the usual countries meddling from the wings. No side is any better then the other. Both have mad and corrupt politicians who are plainly aiming for war and chaos. One just feels sorry for the civilians who ask for nothing and just want to be in peace, should they be in Israel or Gaza. Why does the media never report on the many street protests and public uproar agains the current corrupt power in Israel ? Many such wars, change the image of an incompetent and corrupt politician to a hero and reminds a bit of another war in Ukraine,
  8. Things will improve and change once anybody connected or related to a billionnaire with a good network, gets health issues...
  9. This will scare away the quality tourists and quality retirees who could prefer the freezing temperatures back home.
  10. On the other hand with all the pollution, storm and rain alerts in western media regarding Thailand, one may anticipate cancellations. Differently considered, high season does go with....high(er) prices !! The point is will the high end quality chinese and russians spend as before ? Not sure...
  11. Different office, different officer at the counter = different rules (that can naturally get re-invented tomorrow). Having that in mind makes things smoother and simple on dealing with the finest.
  12. I'm sure the Bangkok terror wheelie tourist cited in a previous article would have some good expertise on the issue ?
  13. Wonder how many would test positive within the finest (dressed in brown uniforms) ?
  14. I patronizingly smile and just say a dumb "Thank you" and walk on, from any sollicitations on the road.....never had an issue or trouble be it around Nana or (almost) near the frontier of South Central, LA !! Unfortunately in today's world, even a harmless looking bloke asking his way needs some awareness.
  15. After a few days in the ladyboy wing at the Bangkok Hilton, the gentleman may wish he was rather arrested (and jailed) in pictoresque "Swiss Land"...
  16. Home can be where one feels most at ease. Home can even be where you choose to make it so...even if it's only for 3 or 4 weeks break. One can feel at home by taking up certain routines, similar to those back at.....home !
  17. But was this racket rule not already in practice for ages by the BiB's on DUI roadblocks ? 😁
  18. Oh Man...he's gonna make a fine "influencer" and new career on Social Media !😂
  19. Welcome... to my ignore List, so you are ---> 😂
  20. Really amazing how any politician in the world will speak the words but rarely put in common sense and acts to concretize. Boosting economy at some point obviously needs foreign capital. Attracting foreigners to invest whether in a house, condo or a large scale venture.....trust is needed. To gain trust, one needs to ban corruption from the lowest to the highest level. Give foreigners more basic rights like the right to own their plot of land for one house. Acquiring trust in one thing. To maintain the trust is another. Life must be made easier for the quality foreigners who bring in money in Thailand starting from the botton level in their purchase of real estate, to other higher investment ventures. Any owner of property on freehold or leasehold should straight away get a document enabling hassle free obtention of a yellow book, a 10 year visa and a driving licence with none of the actual bureaucratic hassles 😅 Just look at the absurd rules the banks invent or the clerk on duty makes up to hush away foreigners who want to bring in money and open a bank account. Let's dream on ,,,, 😅
  21. Another Russian or Chinese "quality tourist" ? welcome, welcome and enjoy thou free 90 day stay on waiver. 🤣
