OPINION - The violence must stop and the hostages must be released
observer90210 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Total rubbish. If you plainly repeat like a parrot the propaganda of certain TV networks, obviously your vision is biaised. If you watch neutral European or Asian media, the whole picture is different. You obviously totally ignore factual historical elements of warefare. Countries do tend to sacrifice their own. During ww2 and the last days before D Day in Normandy, hundreds and thousands of UK soldiers were plainly used as canon meat to distract the nazis. Feel free to invent your vision of the facts. Have a great evening pal. -
OPINION - The violence must stop and the hostages must be released
observer90210 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Did I say that ? No. Wipe out Hamas for sure. But no need to wipe out the civilians no matter on which side of the wall. On the other hand we used to consider the IRA as a terrorist group. Today their political wings are democratically elected. Same for the PLO or the FLNC in Corsica etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. Not defending the terrorist despicable crimes of Hamas. Not at all. But the issue may be a bit more complex than some may tend to agree. There is no "good" or "bad" side in the never ending Middle East tensions or in communitarianism differences, sectarianism or territorial disputes in general. Only victims on all sides and criminals who use terrorist guerilla on one side or retaliate and indulge in war crimes by blindly bombing civilians and allegedly using gas as per some media reports. People often comment (not you of course), but they would not be even able to point out Gaza or the west bank on a map without Google. So kindly do not misunderstand or misinterpret. Thank you. -
Dengue fever remains a clear and present danger in Thailand
observer90210 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Often read on social media about people in Hua Hin getting the dengue fever. Not always fatal despite their ages, but makes one aware One can never abuse the use of body mosquito repellants or mosquito screens around the bed. Open air decorative water ponds in many residential areas look lovely but are a magnet to those biting f##ers and can make one...ponder !! on the need of such water holes ? Dengvaxia (c) seems to be one of the few vaccines around and the only one with European Union approval. However it's efficency can vary due to the different clinical stereotypes of the viral infection, depending on the location in the world. It also is said to be efficient to subjects who previously conracted the virus. Dengue is a what one refers as a flavivirus, similar to the family of yellow fever for exemple. -

Economists usually argue on savings interest rates. Some claim that higher interest rates stimulate the economy, boost the domestic currrency value on markets through investment... Others argue that higher interest rates refrain consumers from spending and encourage them rather to save. Saving that obviously does not make capital move and be passed around.

Thailand must adapt to meet its unique demographic challenge
observer90210 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Money does not always grow on trees. In some situations it needs to come in also from abroad. Reinstill trust amongst foreigners, stop all the immigration hassles for the decent retirees who are good spenders, make the stay smoother regarding all the current immigration absurdities and requisites, be ruthless with the corrupt system....then things will ? ... may ? change. -

Old age pensions of the World
observer90210 replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
It's not's only about age or one's country. It's also about the job involved. Speed train drivers of the previous generations in France were retiring until few years ago at 55 provided they did their entire career with the State Run train (SNCF) with a pension that many would envy. Same for the air trafic controllers in Spain or France with retirement at aroung 50 something. The Golden Globe goes to the Swiss with many public service officials (police, fire etc) who retire after 30-35 yerars of service with pensions going anywhere from 7'400 Swiss Francs per month to approx 10'000 CHF/month (before tax) for the senior officers. -
They say that one attracts one's peers....no offence but we tend to attract people that are unconsciously like we may be.

Foreigners and Thais Severely Injured in Midnight Pattaya Crash
observer90210 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Road checks do exist all over, But they are often on the roads leading to areas with a large farang community, mainly in popular beach towns like Patts, Phuket or Hua Hin. Mainly to get money out of foreigners and not to conduct serious DUI breath tests on site. Wish all the parties a fast recovery. -
I would think twice before over using those chaps comming over with the rotative brushes and soap all over. Soap is great in the soapy massage, but those tile floor detergents and the friction of the electric brushes are not the best things to make tiles last long. The tile grout also can also suffer from harsh brushing and chemicals. It sure will be clean but on the long run and over use, not sure... I may prefer a good Karsher or similar water power jet instead for daily use at the terrace and a microfiber or a good mop for inside (used by the maid of course .-)

Great for the pot belly 🤣 Not so good however for the cholesterol and general health if indulging to often.

Suggestions for good electrician in Hua Hin ?
observer90210 replied to SingAPorn's topic in Hua Hin and Cha-Am
I would go for one who can speak basic english or check out on smartphone forums that are plentiful of experiences from delighted or disgrunted users. Good to know where to go. Better to know, where not to go.- 1 reply
