You need specialist advice from someone who takes time to understand your circumstances and objectives and propose the best solutions. This could be someone with more relevant experience than a typical high street accountant. Solutions can include QNUPS and Discounted Gift Trust. Both move assets outside of your estate. The latter creates an income stream for you as well. They sound complicated if you are unfamiliar, but a good practitioner will make the process straightforward.

More details on Thai taxation of overseas income
SportRider replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yes inbound transfers from say GBP or USD require fx into THB. This supports demand for THB helping the strength of the Baht. A reduction in remittances, if large, might somewhat soften the Baht against other currencies. -

This already exists and in place for well over 100 countries, not just OECD. It's for information exchange, to facilitate taxation but does not reflect on taxation policy of any country. -

Use a Thai Baht account on Revolut and connect it to Google Pay on your phone. You can 'tap' pretty much everywhere now in Thailand, except for cash-only transactions. -
It's easy to be cynical about the tailor shops on Sukhumvit area, if you have had a bad experience. Ultimately you do get what you pay for, but it should be reasonable prices for well-tailored shirts and suits made from quality materials. I highly recommend "Andrew and Walker" tailors - You can have a conversation with the tailor while he's measuring you up. Discuss what style you're looking for, help you choose the material (not force it on you).. etc. A very reassuring process. The final product is excellent high quality. They are inside the Lotus Hotel Soi Sukhumvit 33.

For international business comms as well as saving files on my pc, 2023-09-13 is a logical and understood format regardless of what the local format is.

You can't circumvent Cloudflare if the site owner has it configured for full proxy (most do). It's a great security system and I learnt the hard way after a couple of my sites were hacked and then tagged by Google as malicious and removed from search results! Cloudflare is great. It also speeds up delivery of the website. If you see it checking your connection, it's likely because of current or recent activity it has detected from your provider's IP range. Incidentally, you can buy domains via Cloudflare AT COST.

First Thai relationship, any advice?
SportRider replied to ozthai23's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Its not about Thai or non Thai. It's about whether a certain person is a good partner match for you. Low engagement, distance, not feeling connected so early in a relationship is a red flag. It wont get any better with time, if she's already making you feel uncertain. -
Do you use ChatGPT on your computer ?
SportRider replied to observer90210's topic in IT and Computers
Its very easy to ask ChatGPT for references for any information it presents. If you doubt a response you can also challenge and it will review its own output. I use it pretty much every day for research that can be technical or include academic material... its incredibly useful. But if your enquiry is trivial - plain old Google is better. -

Reliable taxi service bkk airport to central pattaya?
SportRider replied to pomchop's topic in Pattaya
Bangkokshuttle.com - used for years. I highly recommend them for 'no drama'. Not the cheapest but very well organised. Book and pay online; they issue instant PDF receipt with details and contacts. They have a meeting team at the airport, and when you arrive they call the car and it arrives in a couple of mins. Nice vehicles and drivers. -
This makes the very important distinction between expectation of privacy and invasion of privacy. Some posters are saying 'no expectation of privacy' exists because so many CCTV etc. Fair enough. But I still want, and deserve, quiet enjoyment as I go about my daily routines without being secretly recorded and having it posted on the *world* wide web.
