  1. This guy is a crook! His airline still owes me 13,000 baht back from 2020/2021. They cancel flights all the time, but never refund, and their website is even shunned by my card-issuing bank.
  2. For some reasons, there are no direct flights from Asia to South America. One has to travel via North America, and the huge distance would probably require at least one stopover.
  3. And I thought, Bangkok, besides Singapore, had already the most flights in SEA. But, yes, without the word 'Hub'... LOL
  4. How stupid is that? I spent 100s of thousands of baht on hotel bookings in 2019 for a holiday in 2020, just to spend days and weeks to cancel all of them once the pandemic hit, trying to get my money back. Some I only got back in 2022. Things can happen, and plans change. If I had to book accommodation for, say, 2 or three months, I'd rather change my destination.
  5. If you read tourism news regularly, you will know that, yes, they prefer Chinese travellers who come here for only one week, do the trip to the 'island', perhaps to Wat Phra Keaw, then spend the rest of their baht at Big C for a suitcase full of snacks, not to be seen here ever again. Anyone staying longer than 10 days, or who 'comes too often' must be a "criminal"... And yes, 'big money' now, rather than 'very big money' over a longer time span is deeply ingrained in the Thai psyche. Still, people continue to come in large numbers, so it works out well for them.
  6. LOL. Typical load of requirements to ensure that only residents or citizens of that country apply for visas. Do all Japanese tourists rent condos? What if they want to stay at a hotel?
  7. Only someone having applied there recently could answer that. If in doubt, I would think that they insist on what they wrote on their website. However, the website content could, potentially, be outdated. As emails are not often answered, calling there might bring clarity.
  8. According to Stickman it's the Koreans... (Maybe because things in Thailand seem cheap, exchanging their worthless money: 1 Thai baht = 37.62 Korean won. They probably weigh the money in South Korea, rather than counting it...)
  9. There probably won't be clarity until March/April 2025, and even then things might change again at will.
  10. Won't work, as one can only be here for a total of 179 days in a calendar year doing this. That trip would have to be for more than six months...
  11. Yes, please let us know the latest numbers three times a day. Otherwise the suspense might kill us; have 605,000 arrived already??
  12. Probably selling in Oz for 10 or 15 dollars. What a rip-off in Thailand, tax, or not...
  13. I doubt that this will happen. Perhaps a markdown to 700-800 baht, with the seller pocketing the rest.
  14. How much is it, say, from Shu Khinn Thar Myo Pat Road to the Sule Pagoda? Are Bolt and Grab present in Yangon?
  15. Can I open a bank account as a foreigner in Myanmar? If so, what are the latest requirements? Which bank (branches) in Yangon are considered 'safe' and foreigner-friendly? Are there bank accounts where I can deposit foreign currencies (USD, THB)?
  16. General hygiene of sellers, food, utensils, etc. Environment (right next to the road), taste, texture, ingredients, oil they use, etc., etc. - I either go to a proper restaurant, or cook at home.
  17. No need for dinosaur models, as the originals are right there...
  18. That's less than 13 million... Where did the other 15 million arrive from; Kazakhstan? I bet, a certain percentage came from Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia, where Thailand as a 'tourism destination' is very popular...
  19. One week later my ATM card was stolen right in front of the checkout. Was in my backpocket, and I only realised it back home. Later more things were stolen from me. Never experienced having so many things stolen from me in such a short time.
  20. That's just one reason why I don't buy there. Saved me from many bouts of vomiting and diarrhea...
  21. Guess, all the good news: "record tourist numbers", "record economic growth", "increase in tax revenue", etc., were out already, so it was time to report about something disgusting, preferably 'outlandish'...
  22. Be arrested; why? Because it was a foreigner, or because of the Tuk Tuk? I see Thai men, esp. taxi drivers urinating at the curb, etc., frequently. No-one demanding to arrest them...
  23. Yes, I use Zoom like 'never'. After trying a few times, and uninstalling a few other apps that I actually need, I had the necessary 1.1GB free on my phone to be able to download this app that I may need twice a year...
