OP, couple of posts above stole my thunder. So you did a two night bounce to reenter for basically back to back visa exempt entry. Not surprising in the least. Out of interest .,.have you always had visa exempt history? Never a Non O etc BTW: The scaremongering regarding guess work on changes to Non O extensions is based on "I heard" .. You stated....."I heard (unconfirmed) that the retirement visa bank balance is going to be doubled soon, and that marriage visa rules might tighten too" Given your experience in Thailand am surprised that you are surprised with entry issue. Edit: changed thread title. You would not be deported. You would possibly be refused entry.

retirement visa deposit
DrJack54 replied to drkenchso's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Not being rude, however your post is extremely unclear. If this is your first extension from a non O based on retirement then you would need to show balance of 800k for minimum of two months prior to application. If this is ongoing extension you would need to show financial compliance for the past 12 months. A fixed deposit account is fine. You need to clarify your question. If you have not met financial requirements then you could consider an agent. Where are you located? What is your current status in Thailand? Tourist or extension from a Non O retirement -

Tourest Visa After Non-Imm?
DrJack54 replied to pkspeaker's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Suggest you use a agent minivan company. They can avoid need for overnight stay. From Bangkok or Pattaya you could bounce to Cambodia. One option would be mini break in Pattaya and bounce from there. You have 2 months validity remaining. You could obtain 60 day extension to visit wife. Process outlined in links I posted earlier. Wife needs to attend also. Here is thread border bounce from Pattaya. Things have changed a little and recommend you use agent run. Similar options from Bangkok. https://aseannow.com/topic/1312731-border-run-pattaya-to-cambodia/ -
Tourest Visa After Non-Imm?
DrJack54 replied to pkspeaker's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OK...we are getting to the bottom of things. Yes a land border bounce would give you a 60 day stamp. Where are you located. That 60 can be extended by 30 days. How many days remain on current permission of stay? My first post in this thread links to 3 other threads that outline 60 day extension to visit wife. Money not required apart from 1900b application fee https://aseannow.com/topic/1355517-visit-thai-family-60-day-extension/ -
Tourest Visa After Non-Imm?
DrJack54 replied to pkspeaker's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Visa exempt is currently 60 days. 30 day extension available at immigration 1900b. Also 60 day extension to visit wife is another option. Both mentioned earlier. For visa exempt the airline at departure most likely require onward flight within 60 days. I find your thread tad confusing. Flip from Singapore to Bali. On the surface seems you just exit/reenter for added time in Thailand. There were better options. Unless you really want to go to either of the places you mention then just do a border run. Depends little on where you are located. -
Either way folk should not allow passport validity to be under 6 months if intend to travel. The issue would be with the airline. Ubonjoe makes some clear statements on the matter in this attached thread. https://aseannow.com/topic/1255340-passport-validity-when-entering/

Application for NON-O retirement (Chiang Mai)
DrJack54 replied to pub2022's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
There certainly has been a shift in regards to wanting full 12 month bank statements in lieu of bank book alone. That has been the case at CW. Couple of years back they didn't accept my bank book as there was 2 months zero transactions (I use dedicated bank account) Ever since I have supplied and recommended 12 month bank statement 200b. (saves the hassle) Good idea to get it day or two prior to application. Edit: For your extension did you supply TM47 and TM30 -
Application for NON-O retirement (Chiang Mai)
DrJack54 replied to pub2022's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You mentioned FD account. The minimum deposit for most FD accounts is 1000b. Also normally a 12 month bank statement would not be required with a FD account. BankBook sufficient. -

One thing immigration is Red hot on is any dip below the 800/400k. Keep in mind that you are permitted to use two bank accounts. I obtained my most recent extension in Nov last year. My Thai partner does all the money stuff. I stated throw away line ..."that's another extension all done" She caused the balance to dip below 800k (by 1500b) Thought I would need start over. Then realized I had an account never used with approx 10k. Still means that I will require 2 bank statements and letters. PAIN. Some posters will say that immigration over looked a dip below. Can occur however rare.
