Tourist visa conversion to Non-O (Thai family)
DrJack54 replied to unheard's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Entering Thailand with tourist visa you would use form TM86. Entering visa exempt use TM87. There is no difference in the procedure. I Assume that you have a Thai bank account in your name only. The reason I ask is visa exempt provides 30 day stamp. Since immigration requires min 15 days remaining on your permission of stay you would need to apply for the non O very soon after entry. Opening a bank account is not a simple process. Which immigration office? -
Definitely however seems that the OP cannot come up with the funds. The other option would be to obtain a single entry Non O based on marriage and tie up 400k for 2 months to obtain subsequent extension. Those funds only need to remain in the bank until final stamp is issued. 400k would hardly sustain someone (or family) for 12 months. Not huge money given that it can be withdraw. Wash and repeat. No need of border runs and the costs.

So finally getting a full picture. It really helps if you give complete outline of what your status is in Thailand when starting a thread. So your thread should have been... "Returned to Thailand with a reentry permit. Previously used an agent to obtain a 12 month extension based on retirement. The agent covered the funds. What should I do regarding 90 day report? " Answer: talk to the agent. Ask cost of service to do 90 report for you. Very surprised he obtained the extension in Bangkok. In any event you will need an agent for next extension unless you start over and meet the financials yourself.

I think you had poor treatment as I stated in the thread you mention Here is my reply in that thread... "OP, that is really disappointing. You should not require a one year lease for your first extension. The io was unreasonable especially if you explained that you are thinking of moving. You could discuss doing a non binding lease with landlord" The other guy that was knocked back I notice was same desk L35? Same io? My personal experience (using appointment at CW) was to deal with L32 In any event what is your next step? How many days left on your permission of stay? I assume the financials are in order so have you consulted with an agent as a fallback option.

TM30 is now used for address reporting and change of address. Here is a snippet from ubonjoe and stated in many threads. Think this one 2019/20. "The TM30 report has become the primary means of reporting a change of your registered address that immigration has. It can be done by the owner, possessor or tenet. The TM27 or TM28 form is seldom asked for now"

Difference on retired visa Thai spouse or not ?
DrJack54 replied to jaxon's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I think @couchpotato gave good advice. Perhaps you are not familiar with best ways to find threads for advice. Skip AseanNow search function. Google something like ...... "extension retirement vs marriage AseanNow" Make sure you include AseanNow at the end to take you to relevant threads I did this to demonstrate and attach screenshot of Google results. Further specific questions can also be answered this way -
I think you could look into this statement of yours. Many folk have posted that using income method with one transfer totalling 40k/65k per month that the tag "pension" was not required. Indeed WISE is a good option to transfer from your USA bank to your Thai bank. Depending on how the transfers are coded you can also obtain credit advice that shows funds came from abroad

O Ext (M) @ CW - No Drama
DrJack54 replied to Sluglord's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I would also like update regarding TM30 requirement at CW for annual extensions. I have never done one. My last 2 extensions required TM47 at CW. Never required previously. Yes pics available downstairs at print stall. 100b for 4. That stall is a ripper. Prints out appointment confirmation from email etc -
30-Day stamp on entry
DrJack54 replied to Playingthefield's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP, with the route you mention the airline may (most likely) require an onward flight. You have done this before. What was your experience previously. When were you last in Thailand? Why not obtain a SETV. That avoids dealing with immigration for 30 day extension
