  1. OP, another option is to obtain a METV eVisa each year Would require 2 exits from Thailand of 1 if obtaining extensions. Just a thought. Avoids the onerous money in bank requirement and opportunity cost. Also avoids the annual reentry permit for extensions from a non O retirement OP did you research DTV
  2. Clearly you were more fortunate than others. Many threads such as this https://aseannow.com/topic/1314344-bank-account-for-married-to-thai-wife-to-obtain-visa/ Obviously the account is in your name only. Not joint
  3. So he has Thai bank account? BBL?
  4. Thinking he best advised to obtain non O eVisa when he in home country to have more flexible options for ongoing extensions date.
  5. Your point. My post was to clarify a poster who did not understand initial cost for non O + 12 month extension. Ongoing extensions (yes in Pattaya) min 12,500 (Maneerat) or bit more ~15k some other agents in Pattaya. I'm aware of agent in Bangkok that obtains stamps at CW 17k . You need to attend immigration with agent. Same as at Jomitien.
  6. Several bickering/troll posts removed.
  7. 1. No 2. Not a problem 3. TM30 required at some immigration offices after entry from abroad. I don't obtain one after trips abroad (CW) You could consider "starting over" to change your renewal date. Enter visa exempt and obtain a non O and subsequent 12 month extension. If staying under 6 months and visa exempt remains 60 days .,.some folk would suggest stay in Thailand with 2x 30 day extensions to 2 visa exempt 60 day entries.
  8. How long and when did you do this
  9. Simple question how long was validity of pp issued.
  10. Goes without saying. Joint bank account for double the required funds in vast majority of immigration offices will not be acceptable.
  11. Do you mean "emergency pp" How long is it valid for.
  12. Reports of some immigration offices accepting double the amount requirement for marriage. That is not the case for extension based on retirement.
  13. Indeed. That would buy him another 60 and even 30 more with an extension Plenty of time to season funds if Jomitien require 2 months seasoning. My guess is the friend will use an agent. Plenty of good ones in Pattaya.
  14. So to clarify....you are stating for renewal of Canadian pp while in Thailand the new passport is "made and printed" in Bangkok @kingstonkid any joy with Canadian embassy?
  15. For Pattaya 4500-5000 normal price for the bank account. Assume was Bangkok Bank. So now he needs to check with Jomitien if they still require the 2 months seasoning for the Non O retirement. That will determine DIY or Agent from visa exempt entry to non O
  16. I'm pretty confident since I realized I had another account ( different bank) with 8k in it. The error was dip of 1500b for one day. I'm going to build the 8k account ulp and for next extension (Nov) will provide 12 month bank statements, bank letters etc.
  17. I opted for that as the only asset in my name is the Bank account with the 800k. Everything else eg Car, Real estate etc is in her name.
  18. The 800k that I keep in Kasikorn savings account has a debit ATM card. My partner keeps the card in her possession and I transfer 120k a month into that account using WISE from my Oz bank. She then transfers 100k into HER account. Sounds crazy but I'm changing from money in bank method to income method. Reason being is preferred option as I need that monthly transfers to live off in Thailand and the bonus is I don't need to have a Thai WILL to enable her to access the 800k when I move along.
  19. You first type don't waste ..."time on internet listening to experts" Then proceed to type your advice. BTW: If you read the thread you would be aware of fact OP had appointment at Canadian embassy Wednesday (yesterday) Waste of time.
  20. That would be waste of time. Agents will only do hand holding for extension based on marriage. Agents money is made from extensions based on retirement.
  21. OP, suggest you ignore some advice in thread of wife using ATM after death. If you are only concerned about the 800k going to wife/partner then you could consider changing to income method. I transfer 120k each month and as soon as it hits funds then transferred into partners account. If it's more than the funds in the bank eg cars, condo etc then 100% make a Thai Will. If married check with your bank if wife can be added as "silent signatory" to the account. I know it's possible however check with bank if this is an option. BTW: you can set much higher ATM limit. Even higher if ATM transfer to another account (same bank) K Debit Card: Withdraw up to 200,000 Baht per day, transfer up to 1,000,000 Baht per day, and purchase up to 500,000 Baht per day at VISA stores K Max+ Debit Card: Withdraw up to 200,000 Baht per day, transfer up to 1,000,000 Baht per day, and purchase up to 500,000 Baht per day at VISA stores Cardless Withdrawal: Withdraw up to 30,000 Baht per transaction and up to 500,000 Baht per day K-ATM Transfers: Transfer up to 200,000 Baht per day to a KBank or interbank account Kasikornbank also offers a K-Express Cash card that allows up to 10 withdrawals per day with no fees
  22. You keep asking similar questions. No one can give a guarantee for visa exempt entry with your history. You could consider an agent for "fast tract" meet and greet at Bangkok airports. They assist folks with extensive history in Thailand. A METV would provide a stay of up to 9 months and is a good option. That visa is obtained in home country or country where you have permanent residence status Here is thread discussing agents for "safe entry" at airports. https://aseannow.com/topic/1345519-safe-entry-services-bkk-airport/
