  1. OP, being UK you could do as @Mutt Daeng suggested and obtain a non O eVisa. Based on marriage or retirement (if 50+) That option would avoid and dealings with immigration. Yes visa exempt entry is currently 60 days and can be extended by 30 days at immigration. That would require a TM30 and 1900b cost of extension. Airline at departure may require an onward flight within 60 days. You have a return ticket (same airline?) should not be an issue with explanation that you are obtaining 30 day extension.
  2. Would help if you listed your home country. @Pattaya57 applied for a non O based on retirement eVisa while in AU. Will post his experience at some point.
  3. Probably moreso in the boonies. I just find it amazing that a farang can "volunteer" any assistance that deals with children ie schools in any role.
  4. Followed later by ... Are you serious.
  5. https://thethaiger.com/news/bangkok/volunteer-teaching-english-to-underprivileged-children-in-bangkok That's a link to article in Thaiger.
  6. "Few weeks" in other words coming most likely visa exempt and wants to work in a school. Surely you are aware of how insane that plan is. Wouldn't have near any of my kids (if I had any) Consider google "Soi dog foundation" located Phuket. They have easy options for volunteering.. Minimum period 2 days.
  7. Thread ran off topic many posts back. Thread closed

  9. OP, the above replies align with the PM I previously sent you. Immigration will advise you cannot obtain non O from your permission of stay in the "6th year" however no harm in asking. Your options would be border bounce without reentry permit after PE visa expires and obtain non O at your immigration office or as suggested above obtain non O in nearby country Thai embassy/consulate. Note that by the time you may need to do this eVisa (most likely) available
  10. Current thread running. Link posted. Thread closed
  11. Off topic posts re advantages or not, removed. The OP is not asking about usefulness of pink ID and yellow book.
  12. Wonder if you had option to "start over" with new 2 yr license. In any event you worked out best option for yourself
  13. From the OP..." I would like to get a pink ID card and a yellow book. What do I need to do and what do I need to get in advance? The OP is not asking re usefulness of pink ID etc. Off topic post removed
  14. What exactly was required "driving exam" At a guess just color test with reaction test etc..perhaps watch a video Surely you did not need actuality driving test.
  15. OP, is located in Phuket. Ubon office irrelevant.
  16. Your immigration office is wrong. With a visa exempt entry you would be stamped in for 60 days. You can then apply for 30 day extension to the visa exempt entry or 60 day extension to "visit wife" If both are required you would apply for the 30 day extension first as the 60 to visit wife is different class
  17. Here is thread. Read post from @Tod Daniels. Hopefully he may add up to date advice re options from Ranong https://aseannow.com/topic/1331635-any-myanmar-border-points-open-for-visa-run/
  18. Current thread running don't really require another. https://aseannow.com/topic/1340768-pink-id-card-yellow-book/
  19. You will have zero issues entering Thailand visa exempt. BTW currently provides 60 day stamp. Be aware the airline at departure may require onward flight within the 60 days
  20. You would be making an application for extension which will be rejected. And receive the stamp I posted above. The application would be 1900b. Depending on how much of a drag the border bounce is for you personally, that is also an option. With a 60 day visa exempt entry that would provide more flexibility in case situation changes.
  21. Here is pic of stamp you will receive to "exit Thailand within 7 days.
