  1. It's not visa on arrival. It's "Visa Exempt Entry" Currently 60 days and can be extended by 30 days. Some folk use this company for onward ticket..."onwardticket.com" Clarify passport country. From some of your other posts. UK?
  2. Thinking I endorsed your plan in OP. Which is certainly an option. Perhaps consider obtain a non O eVisa in UK . The financials can be in UK bank. Then enter and be given 90 day stamp.
  3. When you reenter your stamp will match expiry of the health insurance cover you supply
  4. Think I have already posted.. No seasoning for non O application. Funds in bank on day of application. The two months seasoning is for 12 months extension Note: apart from rogue office Jomitien where there can require 2 month seasoning for non O application. Ridiculous.
  5. So to advise others what was the "significant sum"
  6. The OP did not ask about border run agents. Some replies have covered that option. Further posts removed re agents
  7. You are confusing the process. You plan to enter visa exempt. When you apply for the non O your 800k need to be in bank on day of application. The non O stamp gives a 90 day permission of stay. In the last 30 days of that stamp expiry you apply for 12 month extension. With funds having been in bank for 2 months+
  8. In other words you obtained a visa for Laos using an agent.
  9. Your posts are not clear/incorrect "The Laotian Government requires British passport holders to have a visa for entry into Laos"
  10. That's not correct. An FD account is acceptable for using funds in bank method. However for extensions based on marriage the 400k can be used after final stamp is given. Don't follow the idea of FD account.
  11. You stated in OP... "That said, now I'm decided to use Nong Khai, I'm still going to have a look about flights to Udon" You are aware of the options. Just do it.
  12. Fine use private taxi. Don't understand what you are asking
  13. In my years (way back) of border/visa runs, I would fly from Bangkok to UT and stay at bar area just behind central plaza. There is mini van from front of plaza to Friendship bridge. The taxi from airport to Udon Thani is now not a rip off.. Some tips are posted in attached thread https://aseannow.com/topic/1289254-laos-border-bounce-via-udon-thani-nong-khai-report-questions-hiccups/
  14. Your plan looks fine. Out of interest is the plan to fly Bangkok to Udon Thani?
  15. From another thread asking about changing from money in bank method to income method here is a cut and paste post from ubonjoe. "You will need to keep the 800k baht in the bank for 3 months after you apply for your curren extension and then 400k baht until you apply for your next extension using the 65k baht income option."
  16. Some suggest 800/400/400 is all that required. As a "cover all bases" I'm planning on doing 800/400/800. The reason being that if any issue with income method (,eg pension certificate) etc.,..then I have fall back option of continue with funds in bank method
  17. Exactly what I'm currently in process of doing. Using funds in bank method and from date of last extension have been making monthly deposits of 65k+
  18. The OP indicated 20 days early and that is plenty to allow for any slip up When the non O and 90 day permission of stay is given the normal process is to apply as early as 30 days remaining and 45 at some offices. Agents do it in one hit. OP is not using an agent. The plan he outlines is sound..
  19. Thanks for the update. However others note that TM30 is often required for 30 day extension. Like many things at immigration it's luck of the draw.
  20. When you apply for 12 months extension based on marriage you are given a date to return.. That can sometimes be eg 4 weeks away.. Refered to as under consideration period.
  21. Read several times ...no idea what you are staying. The OP has indicated that plans border bounce.
  22. Think you will find top up to 800k not required provided 12 month transfers can be provided. However good back up to continue funds in bank method if any issue
  23. Can you point to a multi entry non O from HCMC in recent times. I have seen denied applications at Hanoi. Some comments re HCMC in attached thread. OP, have you considered Savannakhet. https://aseannow.com/topic/1308373-ho-chi-minh-multiple-entry-marriage-visa/
  24. OP, I agree with above post. You do realize that for the 12 month extension the 400k only needs to be in Thai bank account in your name only for 2 months plus under consideration period and then can be spent. Thinking a single entry non O and subsequent 12 month extension is a good option. + A reentry permit if you plan to exit Thailand.
