  1. Unless your embassy provides "income letter" you would need to show 12 month of transfers to change from tv to non O and subsequent extension using income method
  2. VIP service simply allows you to use those immigration gates. Think it will not make a difference. Outline your history. Are you planning to enter Thailand with a visa or visa exempt..
  3. The TM30 is a given and yes some offices would also ask for rental agreement. Reports that "conversion" with just TM30 was possible at CW ..however anyone's guess. If in OP,s friends shoes think I would ask agent price just to assist process with meeting his own financials.
  4. Seems your friend is in Pattaya area. CW would be an option. However as I just posted ...I would first try using agent in Jomtien to be "middle guy" . Your friend still shows his money in bank 800k. Guessing agent might do that for maybe 5-8k For the subsequent extension your friend can do that alone . No agent. Perhaps not possible but easier than apply elsewhere.
  5. I have never had the pleasure of meeting said lady desk 7. My office is CW and I find that they pretty much follow the rules.. As for your friend he could consider obtaining conversion to non O in Bangkok or perhaps visit agent such as Maneerat and provide his own money in bank. Just agent to "assist" without full service to avoid money in bank
  6. Your OP stated Non O from tourist visa. Jomtien is a rubbish office as I noted in my first post. I'm not sure of your situation however I would avoid that immigration office at all costs for "converting" visa exempt or tourist visa to non O using TM86 and TM87. There are some other offices that also ignore Thai immigration rules. Not sure but Samui might be another. The "screw up part" of your post spot on. On last day of permission of stay the "fat lady sings" front desk will ask for 5-15k. Rogue office.
  7. You are polite and won't explain things further.. The OP is experienced guy and thinking his question has been answered.
  8. OP, just bumping your thread as you didn't receive much advice..
  9. You may wish to delete your post. The OP is asking about obtaining a non O from a tourist visa entry. He will use TM86 as part of that process. Specifically he is asking re how many days is required on his permission of stay to apply for the Non O. He is not asking about 12 month extension. The non O will give him a 90 day stamp. Edit: your post is incorrect on every level.
  10. Friend of mine did the same. From memory he was met "airside" by PE staff and taken to room where visa affixed to pp. Stated that it was seamless process. Your experience the same?
  11. Don't understand the reason to quote my post. The OP is a 20 year old digital nomad. The "offer" of job is a scam. In his other thread he inquires about ED visa I posted above that since he wants to live in SEA and cannot afford a PE Visa that living in Thailand part time and equal balance in other countries would be an option. Assume he does not have qualification to teach.
  12. Your parallel thread that lists detail 20 yr old etc and inquiring about ED visa has more details that this thread. This job offer is a scam. Hey I'm not putting you down. Actually thinking for your age I could never have the balls to do what your doing. The ED visa is option for a year after that... Look into a revolving (shared) stays in Thailand and other countries such as Vietnam. If you spend couple months out of Thailand then visa exempt into Thailand more possible. Obtain 30 day extension. Wash and repeat. Jealous. Good luck.
  13. Despite OP, claiming to be experienced traveller , seems the opposite to me. He is flying from Oz. Depending on departure airport Jetstar have flights to Singapore. Then onwards to BKK. If desire to visit Singapore that would be better option. The onward flight is minor issue. OP, asked if Oz visa exempt for Thailand. Basic Google search spits out the following .... Australian passport holders are not required to obtain a visa when entering Thailand for tourism purposes and will be permitted to stay in Thailand for a period not exceeding 30 days on each visit. Note: Highlights and caps not mine
  14. No problem. It's a 24/7 service. If (rare) unattended just approach immigration staff and they will sort it out. As you are most likely aware reentry permit is immediately other side of immigration control. Suggest you fill in your TM8 with photo prior to trip to to DMK
  15. Some offices (most) eg CW require minimum 15 days remaining. Some require 21 days eg CM. Some 15 business days eg Phuket. Having a tourist visa would be better to apply perhaps 30 days early. No seasoning of funds required for non O application. Just 800k in Thai bank account on day of application. Avoid Jomtien imm office.
  16. So what's the point of the Singapore trip for a couple of days? Perhaps you just wanna go there. Much better option is visa exempt entry 30 days + 30 day extension at immigration office. Simple application..
  17. Not nonsense and no you cannot obtain 30 day extension to a non O
  18. You don't need to keep TM47 receipt in pp. If done in person take a snap of it or online you use approval email
  19. Private agent or company with physical presence. (building-office)
  20. Using your own money and maintaining the financial requirements (money in bank) The 3k for your agent is just hand holding.
  21. OP, what type of extension are you referring to. 30 day extension 12 month extension based on retirement or marriage etc
  22. It will. Just checked and yes still down. Back to your initial question ... Pretty sure appointments can be made up to 30 days prior. Definitely try and make an appointment. System runs like clockwork. Make sure that make hard copy of confirmation email as that is required.
