There previously was a rule of limit of 2 visa exempt entries per calendar year via land. That has recently been removed. There is no limit to visa exempt entry via air, however if your history shows extensive stays in Thailand with little time out then you can be denied entry. This leads to very unpleasant situation. With your history I suggest you enter Thailand via land border. The safest entry via air would be CNX

800k for 2 months prior to application then maintained for 3 months after application. Not below 400k in other months. Some folk maintain 800k all year round and some of those use and FD account. You need to look at other aspects of income method. Some immigration offices want to see proof funds coming from eg pension. Some offices just want to see steady amount on consistent transfer date. If you are married then most folk obtain extensions based on marriage. A few opt for based on retirement as far less paperwork and no under consideration period, no home visit etc. However the financials are far less onerous for extension marriage. As pointed out the funds tied up for approx 3 months and then can be used to live on. Pretty sweet deal compared to extensions based on retirement.

For marriage it is monthly transfers of 40k+ Apart from that I assume that you are aware that the 400k for marriage extension only needs to be in bank for 2 months prior to application and maintained during the under consideration period. After that it can be spent..

Does your embassy provide "income letter"? If not then when you apply for extension based on retirement immigration will want to see 12 monthly transfers of 65k+

Think you missed my point. There are other considerations than just the annual 12 month extensions. The OP lives in Bangkok and if uses an agent in Pattaya the stamps will be from another province. This can cause some issues with things such as stamp transfers to new pp, certificate of residence for things such as TDL, 90 day reports etc etc. Perhaps you live in Pattaya. Where are your stamps issued. If Pattaya then you don't have these issues..

@Pattaya57 So OP you will receive 60 days and that can be extended buy 30 days ONCE. You can do a border bounce for another visa exempt entry which will give you another 60 + 30 day extension if you need. Depends on how long you wish to stay

There are other ramifications. Some (most) agents in Pattaya send pp up country for stamps. That can cause issue for eg 90 reports. Yes sure agent can do that. Becomes more problematic with things such as pp renewal... certificate of residence, TDL renewal etc etc

The requirement for onward flight will be at departure from airline issuing boarding pass. On arrival that would not be required and funds only if many entry to Thailand visa exempt. Back to back

The OP is not in Pattaya and did not indicate intention to use Pattaya agent. What eg Maneerat can do in Pattaya cannot be done in Bangkok
