Change visa stamps to new passport
DrJack54 replied to jimn's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
CW. The OP included a link outlining photocopies of various pages from old PP. Offices have their own take on things.. -
Change visa stamps to new passport
DrJack54 replied to jimn's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
This thread points out some offices that charge. Yes sure you can ask for supervisor etc... Similar to certificate of residence. It's free but not free. Example 200b at CW. https://aseannow.com/topic/1268389-transfer-extension-stamp-to-new-passport/ -
Change visa stamps to new passport

Not my experience. Need required photocopies from old pp. Regards letter from embassy.. UK, USA, AU to name just 3 no longer provide "letter" "Charge" varies depending on immigration office. Believe it's free at CW Added note. Stamps such as reentry permit etc needs to be done at immigration office where issued. -
Google "streets of philadelphia kensington" Also.. "Soft White Underbelly "

As pointed out above . One medical is sufficient if you renew both at same time. You also require a certificate of residence. You obtain that at your immigration office.

Non-Imm O Retirement, Options for spouse?
DrJack54 replied to mja1906's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I cannot provide definitive advice. My understanding is that she could obtain a non O (retirement) then enter Thailand and subsequently apply for extension based on dependant. One option would be to consult agent or immigration office for advice. One thing I'm pretty sure of is that she needs to obtain non O prior to enter Thailand. -
Couple of comments here.. I'm attending CW immigration for extension Wed Oct 4. I checked for appointment. First available is Oct 23. Que # and wait not nice option currently. No disrespect but clearly you seem inexperienced. You can obtain reentry permits at BKK. They provide a service for filling in TM8 and photocopy pp pages and Photo. 200baht. An option to consider. What permission of stay is child have that would require reentry permit

Reentry - questions at airport?
DrJack54 replied to E020's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Apologies to the max. Somehow earlier I read your post that with a visa every country does NOT have the right to refuse entry Of course every country has the right to refuse entry with or without Visa. -
Non-Imm O Retirement, Options for spouse?
DrJack54 replied to mja1906's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That would require her to also maintain the funds in the bank for extensions. Better option is for her to piggyback on husbands retirement extensions as dependent. She would need to obtain non O outside of Thailand. -
You do need to have made a 90 day report to apply for 12 months extension. My first 7 years in Thailand on extensions (retirement), I never did a TM47. Aside: re your application for extension make sure that you apply 15+ days prior to expiry of your current permission of stay. Also that your 800k has been in bank for 2months or more

Reentry - questions at airport?
DrJack54 replied to E020's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Most ridiculous post I have read this year. -
Just poking your thread as not much helpful replies.. I personally don't have expert advice on this as I'm not familiar with old pp being used and be given a stamp. As you are aware... Vientiane is not at friendship bridge. What is you friend applying for . Vientiane requires appointment. If they are applying for tourist visa I would just attend appointment and see how it goes. Worst case is refused and enter Thailand visa exempt. Then in future have another crack.

Reentry - questions at airport?
DrJack54 replied to E020's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You asked this ... "Question, will they ask me questions at the airport when I enter thailand again?" I answered with this .... "It would be good idea to obtain letter from your school "supporting" your time away from school." Will not contribute further. Clearly from your post in Jan 2021 you have zero interest in study and happy to go the "volunteer" route. Fine that's OK just be upfront. You state .... "Will extend my study visa with 1 year before I Go, then go for a reentry permit by" Out of interest how much does your agent charge for this next extension?
