Landlord has code to open door
DrJack54 replied to DonniePeverley's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
Ridiculous. You are a tenant. The reason for the coded lock is for owner to be able to change code after you leave. Silly thread. -
Change passport while 1 year extension valid
DrJack54 replied to jphasia's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Any valid visa , reentry permit remain valid from the old passport. It's common to travel with new pp and the cancelled pp presented to airline and immigration together. OP, if you decide to attend immigration to have stamps etc transferred to new pp, be aware that some offices are now asking to see your bankbook. -
One Year Marriage Extension
DrJack54 replied to Melpomene's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The agent would most likely be obtaining an extension based on retirement (assume you are over 50). You do realize that the 400k only needs to be in bank for two months for annual extensions and after final stamp can be used. In your situation use of agent would be poor option. An option would be border bounce to enter visa exempt and obtain non O based on marriage and subsequent extension. Or go to Savannakhet to obtain a ME Non O marriage (visa valid for 12 months) Many threads re this. -
Non-O Visa renewal Question
DrJack54 replied to oslooskar's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Seems that your friend has a Non O-A. If that's the case he could exit and reenter prior to expiry of the Non O-A and be stamped in for 12 months provided he has the required insurance for that period. If he actually has a ME Non O visa valid for 12 months then exit Thailand and reenter prior to expiry he would be given 3 month stamp -
Stop posting rubbish. There is NO such thing as 90 day extension. There is also NO such thing as VOA for UK citizens. There is a visa exempt entry that provides 30 day stamp. In that period you can obtain a Non O visa which provides a 90 day stamp. In the last 30 days you can obtain a 12 month extension. It's NOT a visa. Geez

I give up. Have posted links to threads and also few detailed explanations. There NO such thing as a Non O visa for 15 months. There is a non O that provides 90 day stamp From that you can obtain a 12month extension. BTW It does not extend your non O visa. Rather it extends your permission of stay. Your non O is used. It's a single entry visa. Read some of the threads I posted to understand the procedure. Otherwise stop poor information
-
You are confused. There is a pathway from visa exempt entry to Non O (retirement). It's a visa that provides a 90 day permission of stay stamp (it's not an extension) In the last 30 days of that permit you apply for a 12 month extension (it's not a retirement visa stamp). It's unclear if you are using agent to bypass the financial requirements or just an organizer and you actually do have the required funds in bank account. These threads explain the process that you are currently doing https://aseannow.com/topic/1282251-visa-exempt-to-non-o-retirement-dates/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1301615-converting-visa-on-arrival-to-non-o-retirement-based-in-nan-province/

Ayutthaya 90 day reporting
DrJack54 replied to pixelaoffy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You are most likely aware (just pointing out for others) that sending mail after online report does not cause any issue. I once sent mail after few days online application "Pending". Subsequently the online was approved and later the returned mail just stated in Thai that the TM47 was already done. -
Just post clear information and you will receive advice. You stated "WE" in the OP. Assume you are asking about tourist visa to Ireland? The nationalities of the "WE" would be helpful..

Sending money back to USA from Thailand
DrJack54 replied to bangkokgalaxy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Bit off topic but may be useful to some. Not long ago I purchased a condo from UK guy who flew over from UK to do settlement. There was stupid mix up with the Thai agent and as a consequence I obtained 3mil baht to pay cash. The seller had trouble even with DEE Money. He had to obtain proof of sale of condo etc. Not huge deal but something to be aware of. -

Ayutthaya 90 day reporting
DrJack54 replied to pixelaoffy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I will leave it there. TM47 online or otherwise requires an Address. To change address you are required to do a TM30 (change of address) Yippi that it's working for you. My last two, I have needed to attend CW in person in the 7 day grace period due to "pending" for many days. Many posts mirror my experience and seems to be CW specific. -
Post pic of your stamp that agent obtained. Thinking it was a Non O based on retirement. Ask agent why they could not obtain the 12 month extension (it's not a visa) Which agent did you use. Jomtien currently requiring 2 months seasoning for the Non O. I realize you used an agent but the 2 months indicates Jomtien currently throwing a hissy. Suggest that you consult with a reputable agent such as Maneerat Soi 13/2 for advice.

O visa and education help plz
DrJack54 replied to JoeyMac's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Your posts are so naive it appears that you have done Zero research. You state currently in Thailand on visa exempt entry. You have no time to do anything. You should obtain everything in UK. Regarding your questions about extensions and reentry permits that is straight forward. No need for agent. If you are currently in Pattaya or Bangkok suggest you chat with an agent while in Thailand.
