  1. Good. So ongoing stay continuous status. No TM30 required unless you change your place of residence. Must better the pervious ridiculous rule. Did SP ask for copy of your most recent TM47. Im also here on extensions retirement from a non O and it was required for my most recent extension at CW.
  2. No. It's very clear when a TM30 is required and when not.
  3. What type of extension
  4. Yes. Provided you are married to Thai national.. Extensions from a non O-A based on retirement require insurance. Based on marriage do not require insurance If you are using money in bank method here is short thread with advice re financials. https://aseannow.com/topic/1282233-changing-visa-extension-based-on-retirement-to-marriage/ More comprehensive advice in this thread https://aseannow.com/topic/1294912-changing-extension-from-retired-to-married/
  5. OP, completely covered by post above. Be aware (if you deal with Jomtien) that office (according to recent thread) .....requires the 800k seasoned for two months to apply for the non O. Ridiculous. The rule is funds in the bank on day of application. Assume that you are not married. If you are you could change extension to based on marriage and no insurance requirements
  6. Do your 90 day report when you next have dealings with immigration. Seems that will be next extension. Most likely fined 2000b
  7. Yes you need to have TM30 to obtain 30 day extension. Yes you can check into a hotel and have them provide you with screenshot of filing.. Immigration might fine or send you away without a TM30 Best to provide one. Note: you can make appointment at IT mall. Appointment link. https://www.immigration.go.th/?page_id=20131 If you make appointment take hard copy of confirmation email.
  8. Not interested in personal experience. You returned with new visa A TM30 is required. I'm just referring to the law in section 2.2
  9. I was not asking about law. You read some rubbish from TAT that included the word LAW. Very naive. There is no definition of tourist relating to number of visa exempt entries via air and no law relating to number of days spent in Thailand. You can post rubbish from TAT and even cut and paste from various Thai consulates. That sometimes has incorrect and outdated information Clearly you are poorly informed. TAT make recommendations to Thai gov.
  10. You are very confused. TAT do not set Thai immigration laws. They are basically a lobby group for tourism.
  11. You have a tourist visa. You should not have an issue. Have a clear "storyline" of your intention is to do conversion to non O retirement using TM86 Back up plan would be to have "dummy" onward flight.
  12. You do not understand TM30 current rules. There are 75 immigration offices in Thailand. Yes there are couple of offices that have recognized change of rules. CM being one. So which immigration office do you deal with. No big secret. I deal with CW.
  13. As soon as you read any post that starts with "TAT " ... you need to ignore the rubbish that follows. TAT are not immigration officers.
  14. They can question you at land borders. Asking for proof of funds. Perhaps even ridiculous onward flight. Generally given the 2 visa exempt land border entries per calendar year then you should be fine. Of course there are rogue crossings such as Poi Pet where all bets are off.
  15. Not possible. BritTim is an expert. Good start. BTW there is pinned thread tributes ubonjoe. Think 12 pages. That states volumes. Sadly missed.
  16. Don't follow how that simplifies matters. Do a TM30 change of address. You do not need to wait for next extension.
  17. You will need to do a TM30 for change of address. That can be do by you with couple of basic docs from landlord or he can file a TM30 and provide you with screenshot. Do you have a rental agreement. That would be handy. Personally I would attend your new immigration office as some have their own "variations"
  18. You took the OP word "scrapped" too literally. The reason I posted with a link to that particular thread is that it provides the announcement to the change in laws relating to TM30 that occured ~ June 2020. And has section 2.2 posted. Also link to download if someone wants that. Many folk are not up to speed with that as demonstrated by "do I need to file TM30" questions that pop up almost daily. What has made it even more confusing is some rogue offices (CM being one) have ignored the changes. For the expat community with unbroken permission of stay the basically TM30 is done and dusted unless you change your address. So compared to previous rules one could use the word scrapped. Move on.
  19. 100% correct. Read 2.2 at start of this (old) thread. You have a current permission of stay and protected by reentry permit. You can travel in Thailand and out and not require to file TM30 when you return..
  20. The embassies websites are wrong. There is no such rule. Briefly existed ages ago when Adam was a lad
  21. Don't see the point of your post. I have stated often that CM is rogue on this matter. There obviously will be some others. You typed that you returned with a new visa. Then yes you would need to file a TM30. If you had returned with reentry permit the TM30 would not be required.
  22. Read the post above yours from TallGuyJohn. I have exactly same experience.
  23. You have not read the posts from the guy I quoted. He had been asking about 90 day rule with exit and reentry. Back to back continuous stays
  24. False information. Required TM30 for what service?
  25. CM is rogue office. They have not applied changes to the law made in 2020. Even for overnight + stays is other provinces.
