  1. Correct. Confirmed with Tok 1500b. My earlier post was concerning Bangkok where agents I have contacted cannot obtain residence certificate. OP to date has not (I think) indicated where he is obtaining license.
  2. When? So your suggesting that someone with a SETV in their passport upon presenting at io counter says words to the effect of... " Hey bud just ignore that Tourist visa and just wack a visa exempt entry stamp 30 days in my pp"... You also state "comes up quite often." Care to fish out a relevant post.
  3. Possibly because it's ridiculous. If it was possible to enter visa exempt with a valid SETV in passport then that would be extremely popular. You state..... "As said this was often done a few years ago" I have never heard of it. What can occur for example is if someone had reentry permit with only few days remaining that person could ask the io to overlook the valid few days and stamp in visa exempt 30 days. Even that would not be a given
  4. Here is old thread, however the OP lists what he provided and ubonjoe points out few things. https://aseannow.com/topic/902108-1yr-extension-based-on-marriage-hua-hin/ Assume that you previously did your annual extensions at CW. Don't overlook doing a TM30 when you move to HH
  5. Think you will find that CW is the outliner regarding need to have done a 90 day report in order to apply for certificate of residence. Most immigration offices will not have that requirement. Aside point: For folk dealing with CW. There is no appointment possible for certificate of residence however I discovered a week ago that if you make an appointment for 90 day report the same io same desk will process your certificate of residence. BTW: Mine was then posted out within one week.
  6. OP, as others have point out the 30 day extension is basically automatic. Regarding onward flight within 30 days for visa exempt travel the airline should accept your ticket out within 60 by explaining your intention to obtain a 30 day extension. In the event of any issue...step away from counter and book a "rent a flight" . Sites such as "onwardflight.com" will issue that instantly. Think that for future visits you have other options especially being married to a Thai.
  7. Name me one agent that can obtain a certificate of residence.
  8. OP, US embassy does not provide letter. Which immigration office? You need to obtain certificate of residence. Have you done a 90 day report? Some conflicting information in this thread. https://aseannow.com/topic/1214055-5-year-driving-licence-renewal-with-5-year-thai-elite-pe-visa/ Actually I am doing my 5 year license Wed and using agent for hand holding. BSR bikes. You can ask them questions via messenger or phone, without using them.
  9. That is because they are nut case immigration office. TM30 is the current requirement.
  10. 30 days. As stated earlier by BritTim... If you can provide good evidence of need to apply sooner that is possible. Perhaps couple of weeks with flight out and good reason
  11. How does this post match up with your OP. What are you asking about? Or just fishing.
  12. OP, you do not own house. You have very little foot hold in this. The court order means Zip. If your X wants to make your life impossible living in that house you are burnt. Obviously you have been in Thailand long time. You are not in farang world. At click of x wife fingers you are history. For One moment don't think you have sympathy from grand parents etc. <removed>
  13. No.. Take a print out (hard copy) . Your hotel can provide that.
  14. Fine... Here is snippet from your first post. .. "I remember specifically one time where she's asking for something that was already in my passport and she's looking and asking and grunting and searching ... and finally found it".. Why does she need to search for it ...."and finally found it" There is virtually not docs that the io would require other than most recent TM47 receipt. And you should provide photography of that. I'm not being pedantic. So so many folk attend immigration without correct documents.
  15. There would be. As you outline....you are looking for assistance to organize docs etc and not meet the financials etc. Agents can do "hand holding" for extensions marriage. Check out @ThaiVisaCentre. You can use Google for contact. They prefer to use LINE. You could also check out BangkokBuddy
  16. As the OP has now turned 50 then indeed a ME Non O retirement visa valid for one year would certainly be an option he could consider as avoids dealing with immigration in Thailand.
  17. Your post seems to indicate that you are unaware what is required even for a simple 90 report. My guess is that you did not provide photography of last 90 report. As far as MTT being bit out of Bangkok central......what's that got to do with anything. As I stated the appointment worked a treat. Seems like many (including this thread) unprepared and then blame the io.
  18. Strange how I did a 90 day report at MTT (back when they were being done there. Also did application for a certificate of residence. I used appointment option. Smooth as silk and the two io that I dealt with could not have been anymore pleasant. Fast tract to last week when I visited CW for 90 report with appointment and the io was helpful in also processing an application for certificate of residence. Strange that you had such issues.
  19. Good for you. Sounds more like a anger management issue. BTW the thread does not concern extension based on marriage. Seems to me the OP had inadequate docs. TM30 or rental agreement and few other items .
  20. To apply for extension to a tourist visa generally the immigration office will require proof that you are living in that province. When you check into a hotel, they by law they make a report. It's referred to as a TM30. Ask hotel if they will do that and can provide you with screenshot of that. That will satisfy immigration for 30 day extension.
  21. There has been reports of for example returning to Thailand with short period remaining on re-entry permit and asking io to stamp them in visa exempt 30 day stamp. And io providing that. Very different than your plan which I find ridiculous.
  22. Correct. Some poor information in this thread.
  23. Finding your plan bit ridiculous. If you want to enter and exit after 3 days then use the tourist visa and on departure buy a 1000b reentry permit at airport. I posted earlier asking how long do you want to stay in Thailand. That answer leads to best advice. Perhaps a METV may be better option if you wish to travel S.E.A
  24. You would be given 30 day visa exempt stamp. The to use tourist visa you would need to exit Thailand and reenter. This has been discussed in several threads if by having an eVisa that would be possible. Possible loophole but what's the point. As I posted earlier enter Thailand with tourist visa. Obtain extension if you want. Do border bounce to obtain visa exempt emtry
