Good. Don't forget to purchase reentry permit TM87 form. You can obtain at immigration office or just purchase at airport. For BKK airport the permit office is Zone 2 left side after security check and BEFORE passport control. The provide a service to do the form and picture for 200b or you can do it yourself. Reentry permit is 1000b single or 3800b multiple

Please stop. What "right visa" Converting from tourist visa or visa exempt permit is outlined in government regulations. A Non O retirement can be obtained at many consulates OR At time immigration. Here is pic outlining that law. You cannot read it but download it yourself. Just because some nutter io sends you away means nothing.

Because you shouldn't have to. The process border bounce and kill off a non O-A and enter Thailand visa exempt and subsequently obtain non O at Thai immigration office is done routinely Current thread... https://aseannow.com/topic/1291070-visa-exempt-to-non-o-marriage-visa-conversion-at-cw-requirements/

You had a non O visa. Most of these threads regarding opening a bank account concern the need for one to obtain a non O. Just noticed that you mention CM. The requirement to have made a 90 day report to obtain a certificate of residence is a BANGKOK requirement. It's possibly the only immigration office that has that requirement. From the OP ... "Does anyone now of any other bangkok based agent that can still open an account?" You conveniently left out the sentence prior to your quote. I was clearly referring to BANGKOK..... "If opening a bank account in Bangkok you need a "certificate of residence" There is a catch 22.... To obtain a certificate of residence you need to have made a 90 day report (TM47) which is not possible on a tourist visa or visa exempt entry."

A "border run" generally refers to exit and reenter visa exempt. Sometimes referred to as border bounce. What makes it confusing is some folk have a ME Visa. Often ME Non O based on marriage or retirement and need to exit Thailand every 90 days and refer to that as visa run. Then of course some call a "visa run" an exit to actually apply for a Visa at a Thai consulate. The examples in the OP provided, think in one case killing off a non O-A in order to reenter visa exempt and use TM87 to apply for not O at Thai immigration office. That is possible however that immigration office refused to even accept application.
