  1. Visa on arrival is available to few countries. It allows 15 day stay. Often confused because some folk referring to visa exempt entry (30 days) as "Visa on arrival".
  2. He did not have a visa so he entered visa exempt and was given the correct 30 days. He can obtain 30 day extension. Then do a border bounce and enter visa exempt again. If wishes can obtain a 30 day extension to that entry. So 90 or 120 days easily possible.
  3. The 60 day extension to visit wife is covered in thread below. Ubonjoe has outlined what's required
  4. Have a good read of the OP. He mentions that he is 72 and has had serious back injuries. If he chooses to use an agent then that's up to him.
  5. Yes....however the 800k would need to have been in Thai bank account in your name only for 2 months on day of application
  6. One incorrect word in your post....."required" Implies a requirement...not optional. Insurance is not required for conversion to non O and subsequent extensions
  7. Tourist Visa gives 60 day stamp and you can obtain a 30 day extension. Regarding your non O option. You do have a Thai bank account in your name only?
  8. Yes. Added note. The insurance shouldn't be part of your thinking. It is not required for your non O or extensions
  9. You mention "yes, years" Later in post mention ED Visa for 12 months. ED visa does have some requirements eg time at school etc. With regards the cost of Elite Visa there is another way to look at the financials.... Work out what it would cost in total to live 5 years in western country vs same time spent in Los. Even with the cost of the elite added into to comparison. Another option is to live in sth east Asia and not completely in Thailand.
  10. You won't be deported unless you go on overstay. Just chill ...plenty of options now with land borders open. Perhaps provide more details of your plans.....eg how long you wish to remain in Thailand etc. If it's years then Thai elite visa a good option..
  11. Obtain a PE (elite) visa. Not cheap but best option if you want to remain for several years.
  12. With almost a month remaining on your permission of stay, I doubt you could obtain a covid extension. An agent may be able to assist. Yes would be approx 5k. Which immigration office?
  13. You have several options. A non O is possible if you qualify. Over 50 etc. However would be messy. For those married to a Thai can obtain 60 day extension to visit wife. Border bounce and reenter visa exempt and obtain an extension gives 60 days. You can do that twice per calendar year. You can also obtain a tourist visa at embassy or consulate in nearby country. Vientiane is one example. Covid extensions are due to end Aug 24. Keep an eye out for any announcement that date is extended. (doubtful)
  14. Extension to visa exempt and tourist visa entry is 30 days. Extension to visit wife is 60 days. You can obtain the extension couple of weeks prior to expiry of you 30 day visa exempt entry. I wouldn't leave it till last couple of days. The 60 day extension will start for your expiry date.
  15. Do it at airport. There is no risk. Which airport will you depart from?
  16. Bit off topic however may I ask about what you actually showed for vax certificate. Next week off to Oz for 2 weeks I have screenshot on cell with certificate from mor prom app. Is that sufficient.
  17. That was from TAT. Rule #1 ignore TAT
  18. Don't think so. Here is a form. https://aseannow.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=439173
  19. Recently a post from someone that just obtained a residence certificate from Jomtien immigration in order to open bank account with Kasikorn. Has non O and extensions and bank accounts. Previously never required residence certificate however now does.
  20. For residence certificate it has simple form with tick box options. One is for car driving license one for buy a car or similar. There is not box for bank account..... Doesn't matter. The letter does not include what it's for. Just tick car license
  21. Just to be clear. A SETV (tourist visa) generally zero issue with entering thailand by air or land. Not to be confused with visa exempt entry (visa waiver) In the case of setv, prior to covid some embassies/consulates were placing a limit of 2. Phnom Penh was also returning pp with full page visa issued and red VOID stamp. Don't think we have had enough reports of these types of questions since we have come out of covid restrictions. For example ... someone who has been in Thailand for the past year on covid extentions and now obtains a tourist visa at say Saigon can just reenter? How about fly to Saigon and return via air visa exempt?
  22. Don't worry about it. As I typed earlier the things that previously required a TM6 will be processed without.
  23. In the OP,s case it will be 2 back to back visa exempt entries via air. He would not have an issue and if some over zealous immigration officer questioned him (wouldn't happen) he could point to previous non O marriage and that is in process of organizing non O. Regarding back to back visa exempt entries via land no one should have any issue. Just avoid couple of border crossings. Regarding extensions every entry with a visa exempt or tourist visa can be extended by 30 days. No issue.
