CW would require a 90 day report. The OP did not mention immigration office which is important.

Keep folk in the loop. Hip replacement very common and many have to deal with it. Post op for me zero pain. I just had bit of bad luck with setback. Tonight my flight to Melbourne goes without me but not a big deal. Good luck with your procedure.

Which immigration office? You are asking about residence certificate? That's required for things such as TDL, bank account etc.

Spot on. I will be using Xarelto moving forward. In Oz it's part of what we call PBS and cost largely paid by gov. Expensive here of course. I'm back home now and it's just a reset. Setbacks not all that uncommon. Already improvement and was able to sleep last night. Onward and upward as they say.

My advice (and others) to show vaccination certificate is advice directed to those that have been vaccinated. For those that are unvaccinated, yes you can come to Thailand be aware of what the airline and immigration at arrival may require such as a negative test result.

Staying in Bangkok irrelevant. Your 90 day report is due in 90 days with your return to thailand being day 1 of the count.

I have never exchanged at airport. Previously exchanged at "gold shops" For example I use exchange shop near end of Bui Vien district 1 Saigon. Good rates.

Think the rule change was June 2020. (someone can advise exact date) Prior to change of rules even spending time in another province required a TM30 upon return to where you live. This also applied to exit and reentry to Thailand. Then with change of rules the TM30 is not required for the examples above. Note: if you reenter Thailand with new visa or visa exempt you would need to file a TM30 even if returning to your previous address.

Thanks for advice. Will look into it. I was using one walking stick with arm rest....going great guns. I'm still in hospital and had some results from blood tests. One was my INR is 7.1. Should be 2-3. Hence the blood after too much walking. This is not a lot to do with hip replacement itself but some separate medical conditions that obviously in my case has caused an issue.

You cannot obtain tourist visa inside Thailand. You could obtain. 60 days extension to visit wife.

There will always be immigration offices that do not follow the correct rules.

Hopefully someone has advice. I have basic return flight Melbourne to Bangkok with Jetstar. Direct flights. No refunds for cancellation etc. Can I cancel first leg only. Indications from my internet searching is that the whole thing is lost when first leg canceled. TIA

Personally I think visa exempt entry 30 days with easily obtained 30 days generous. PITA for myself being Oz requiring visa to Vietnam. Also Cambodia, Laos etc. In addition Thailand provides many other visa options..

This post is just for anyone looking for any first hand experiences re hip replacement recovery. So back to hospital today to see doctor that assisted with the surgery and he wanted x-ray, ultrasound, blood tests. Without going into the details the ultrasound found hematoma (large) in area of hip joint and in turn putting pressure on the muscles. Not aided by the fact I take anticoagulant due to previous DVT and PE. So admitted into hospital only for blood transfusions which into final bag 3am as I type this. One of the suggested causes for this to occur 10 weeks post op was over doing the exercise. Indeed I was pushing it in preparation to family visit Oz. That is all off now as Rest is the recommended course of action. Over detail but for those facing hip replacement slow and steady as she goes. Folk are always interested in cost so for this one night in the flash private room is 5k and then of course will be all the additional costs such as meds etc. On the positive side this is my first night in a bed and zero discomfort. Previous two nights spent in chair at home. Bed two painful. No meds today so onward and upward. Again thanks for helpful posts.

Use an agent from Pattaya. Cheaper than Bangkok. As mentioned above KK is where most business is done and your stamps will be from up country.. What type of non O where you obtaining. Rule out based on volunteering.
