Good news. Close this thread now. OP has a positive outcome.

Visa Agency Recommendations
Suggest you do it yourself. Current reports seem to indicate extensions not as busy as few months ago. The multiple reentry permit can be obtained at airport on day of departure.

Washed UK Passport
Out of interest did your immigration office require you to provide bankbook for proof of adhering to financial requirements. Ask as I did transfer of stamps to new pp few weeks back and CW required this.

Retirement visa VS tourist visa. Advantages?
Find this a nonsense. "Stayed in Thailand for many years..." implies ongoing living in Thailand. Try to be clear. Staying in Thailand does not mean eg 6 months in and 6 out using visa such as METV each year. Also "quite old to get a retirement visa" Is that a joke. What age do you suggest.

90 day rejected
Don't get your point. It certainly would not be an hour if you lived in Bangkok or elsewhere had very long drive to immigration office

Retirement visa VS tourist visa. Advantages?
The names of medications would be clearly stated on your billing statement. You opt to include that purchase or not. In any event you know what has been prescribed.
-
Retirement visa VS tourist visa. Advantages?
Yes yes ...however the OP has never referred to PE visa. A costly option at that.
-
Retirement visa VS tourist visa. Advantages?
Note: this thread is not about farang medical costs v medical costs for Thai. The OP was asking about any advantages for non O extensions VS tourist visas. Answer: No there is not.
-
Retirement visa VS tourist visa. Advantages?
It means you don't get any discount etc for medical or other. You are granted temporary permission of stay and will pay same as someone on visa exempt entry
-
Retirement visa VS tourist visa. Advantages?
Understand. I have been very lucky and had never needed a stay in a hospital in Thailand or AU. Not so long ago I had a hip replacement at private hospital in Bangkok. Was like a 5 star hotel. Hip replacement + all the add ons came to 20k aud. Currently in Oz. Have had all bloods etc ultra sound x rays you name it. Cost Zero
-
Retirement visa VS tourist visa. Advantages?
The benefit is with a reentry permit you can exit and reenter Thailand as often as you like. Be aware that an extension from non O provides a temporary permission of stay. Exactly the same as stamp from tourist visa. Living in Thailand ongoing on tourist visas is not an option

Air Border run through vientiane?
100% agree. Most likely flights cheaper a bonus.

Air Border run through vientiane?
Good advice and I agree should have zero issues. Clear itinerary always is a good idea and onward flight almost essential for Airline. OP, you will be fine given your history in Thailand.

Washed UK Passport
First up you ain't stupid. These accidents occur all the time. I recently obtained new Au pp. Realize you are UK. The process was 20 day from apply Bangkok to received new pp via post. Back to your question...when you have your new pp attend immigration with both pp. Your stamp records will be on file and not be an issue. My office (CW) Also wanted my bankbook photocopies to verify Financials.

Confusion about Thai E-visa non immigrant 30 or 90 day validity
Believe @Pattaya57 recently obtained non O evisa Sydney. He will advise you re the process

Is a 2 year fixed account acceptable for 400k non O married extension please
Thought it was obvious. If married you can just show 400k for two months in bank then it can be used. 400k might cover 3-4 months. Run it down to zero then wash repeat for next extension. Many use income method as it's only 40k per month. Again can be used the minute it lands in Thai bank account. Very sweet deal compared to retirement

Retirement visa VS tourist visa. Advantages?
No it's not a "tier" system. You can use public hospitals for fraction of price of private. As to your thread ....any form of tourist visas would not be good option for "I plan to live here permanently " You should obtain a non O based on retirement and subsequent 12 month extensions on going. That has financial requirements. If that is not possible some folk use an agent.

Washed UK Passport
OP, obtain replacement passport.

Retirement visa VS tourist visa. Advantages?
OP, your question is far to open. It's all about how long you wish to stay in Thailand and is it ongoing. For example many posts along the lines... "I want to spend 6 months in Thailand each year" You need to elaborate.

The chances this may work? (Opening a thai bank account as a tourist)
So you did not open a bank account on a tourist visa as per the thread topic

The chances this may work? (Opening a thai bank account as a tourist)
Thanks for asking same questions I would have. These threads asking for advice on opening bank account on visa exempt or tourist visa is about the NOW not what occurred years back. Also places such as Siam Legal are now longer offering this service. Previously they did. Also anyone in Bangkok the bank will require a certificate of residence and CW will only issue a COR if you have made a TM47. Something impossible on a tourist visa.

To be clear. You had agent obtain a bank account along with a non O retirement and 12 month extension

Is a 2 year fixed account acceptable for 400k non O married extension please
Yeah...I used FD for several years (CW) Each extension I deposited 1000b and 100b for bank letter. Recently closed that account. The bank clerk had to close the original deposit and subsequent 9 other 1000 deposits separately. Felt bit embarrassed the work I caused.

TM30 when returning to my Thai wife and renewing visa ?
Make mental note to add Surat Thani to list of rogue immigration offices
