Very simple process at consulate in Saigon. Bonus is a very fun city. Did your friend consider obtaining SETV at eg Vientiane. The advantage is that avoids scrutiny at airport on reenter. BTW Much of what the io stated was rubbish. One example..... "IO said they were writing a note in the file that if a 30 day extension was requested it should be denied and would get a 1 year ban"......rubbish. You mentioned 3rd visa exempt. Where did friend fly into Thailand from? Also time between entries.

Messed up my marriage visa?
DrJack54 replied to nailbrains8's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
They mean after expiry of extension. For some office applying early does not help. The under consideration period can start from your current expiry. Edit: cut my post when uj posted. His suggestion of obtaining a 60 day extension to visit wife is what I was about to suggest that you check out. -

Can I get a certificate of residency at CW
DrJack54 replied to norbra's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No not a joke. You did not state what the residence certificate is for. You have been given the correct advice on how to obtain residence certificate from CW. The info I posted about car and bike licences may be of use to others. BTW ..on the form there are specific boxes to tick. Just tick car license. -
Can I get a certificate of residency at CW
DrJack54 replied to norbra's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You do not require an appointment. Above post from @ThailandRyan has you covered. When I obtained a residence certificate they were not interested in my lease. They did require the 90 day report copy. Have the standard copies of passport ..photo page, latest entry stamp etc. They may not require those. If you are obtaining a car and bike license just tick car. If you tick both they will provide 2 certificates. 400baht. -

Have you been doing 90 day reports at CW? If yes then you can obtain a residence certificate at CW -
The single (one way) air ticket is bit of a misnomer. The pathway of enter visa exempt requirement to have onward flight is easily taken care of. Now that you state your intention is to obtain extension based on retirement and already have bank account in Thailand... Think you should arrive visa exempt. Many threads on this.

Obtaining a non O retirement in own country would require 90 day insurance. To avoid that some would obtain a non O marriage and later change for extension based on retirement if that was a better fit. If your end game is extensions based on retirement using money in bank method..... personally I would skip obtaining non O in home country. Would enter visa exempt and obtain non O retirement inside Thailand. Easy as you already have Thai bank account in place.

Many guys like the ME non O marriage that were obtained at for example Savannakhet. Great option but required border runs. The option you are using is also excellent. Just requires the funds in bank. As you would know the funds only need be in bank for 2 months prior to extention and also under consideration period. Sweet deal. In future you can at extension time switch to based on retirement if you wish. You wouldn't be the only married guy to extend on basis of retirement due to reduced paperwork, home visit etc.

Xarelto - Available in Thailand ?
DrJack54 replied to richard_smith237's topic in Health and Medicine
On the prescription there is an option for doctor to make possible for the pharmacy to issue all the repeats which will be for 6 months. Reasonable reason to give is extended overseas travel. -
OP, you need to provide more details to obtain correct information.

Stamp for COVID extension
DrJack54 replied to csaba81's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Clearly you know very little about the process. Under consideration for extensions basically means the application has been approved. And again completely off topic. The OP will return for final stamp. Nothing fraudulent about it. -
Stamp for COVID extension

The government have not stated reasons for providing covid extensions. In any event you are sidetracking the question from the OP. -
Insurance, again
DrJack54 replied to rogerpattaya's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I realize that however in this thread and others it has been suggested that agent can kill off a non O-A and obtain a non O. Nup.. -

The Thai government has made covid extensions available. Best ask them. -
Insurance, again
DrJack54 replied to rogerpattaya's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I'm not aware of any agents able to kill off a non O-A and subsequently obtain a non O retirement. Many years ago agents could send passports to border. Be no no now imo. -
Insurance, again
DrJack54 replied to rogerpattaya's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Phuket immigration office has grandfathered if the non O-A was obtained previously prior to insurance requirement. -

Would also require to exit Thailand and reenter.
