Re-entry permit : Multiple or single
DrJack54 replied to daejung's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Correct answers posted above. Also you can buy a multi after having obtained a previous single reentry. -
What are you typing about. Those living in Thailand on extensions based on retirement using money in the bank method are well aware of the rules. Reporting back to immigration is a nonsense. For anyone that makes a slip up they would simply exit prior to next extension and "start over" Certainly not something that would be done by design. You stated ..."Some offices introduced that additional check to avoid that applicants would use up the 800K once they got the Permission to stay stamp" Say what....if they spent down the 800k they would simply be aware they cannot obtain next extension. Do you think immigration will send out the BMW,s to round them up? I am aware of few immigration offices playing this game. The main one being Jomtien which has in effect stopped that practice. Leaves couple of back water offices.

Extension confusion...
DrJack54 replied to whophant's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No. An application for a non O from visa exempt or tourist visa requires 15 prior to expiry. In fact at CM it's 21 days. As for 30 day extension to visa exempt or tourist visa that can be done up till expiry date and as early as ...."depends on the office" Normal is couple of weeks prior however many reports of applying basically just after arrival. Meaning 30 days early. -
Extension confusion...

Disregard some of the post. Common is to apply for 30 day extension couple of weeks early. However often folk apply earlier. As I mentioned in earlier post .. a screenshot of hotel filing his check-in is sufficient. -
Extension confusion...

Yes. You can do a TM30 for him or to keep it simple he could check into cheapest hotel that does TM30 for guests. He would need to ask hotel if one they file TM30 and two can give home screenshot of that. Immigration will issue an extension. BTW...it's irrelevant how many 30 day extensions someone has had -
Good point. Some folk think that they need to obtain final stamp by certain date. No.

And when they make you return at 6 months to check 400k , you will trot along? For some folk their immigration office can be light aircraft flight. Push back against nonsense immigration offices. So we have Jomtien and SisaKet on the list. Samui is a rubbish immigration office they might play same game. I'm sure there is couple of others.

I am Soooo much! My last extension retirement at CW they hit me up for bank statements as for some months I had no activity.. Bank book pages this time no good. Previous 9 extensions...no problem. I use dedicated bank account. Often no transactions in a month. Clearly no consolidated transactions. Absolute rubbish. My personal plan was to move to agent when old due to possible mobility issues. Might fast track that. They are poorly trained clerks.

Seriously? With your history clearly you are aware of the game. As you pointed out...you still have one visa exempt entry available. Entry from Laos is preferable over eg Cambodia however this would be third at Nong Khai if you opt for that. Vientiane requires an appointment and overkill if you are leaving in May. Accommodation can be taken care of with site such as Agoda with free cancellation.

On the date prescribed. You could contact immigration to see if it's ready early.

All of which is just rubbish from that immigration office. Firstly you are not required to do 90 day reports in person and secondly you are not required to return back to immigration with bank book in hand and tail between legs. I have never read a report of anyone having a fail with annual extension due to not turning up to immigration 3 months after extention granted. BTW don't allow immigration to staple anything into your pp.

OP...sounds like you are in Thailand. What do you actually have. You mention "visa run" ... If you have eg METV then you can just exit and reenter via land border or via air. Referred to as bounce. A visa run is to obtain new visa. Example tourist visa. What visa do you have. Don't say eVisa.

A little advise needed...
DrJack54 replied to BillStrangeOgre's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP, do one more visa exempt. You could consider purchase of "rent a ticket" . Not expensive. In case of any hassle you could show and explain your going back to own country.. Some borders with Cambodia were playing the "show flight out" rubbish.. Suggest Nong Khai if it's not too inconvenient -
Extension of Non-O (retirement). Passbook-less
DrJack54 replied to bg53's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thinking this is one where you would need to ask CM what are their specific requirements on bank book-less extension. Obviously bank statements. Along with the standard "bank letter" Surprised you didn't check with immigration prior to setting up the account.
