Multiple Entry Visa Problems
DrJack54 replied to EveryG's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Bottom line is that nothing can be done now. In order to add extra time for your trip you will need to do some border runs (reenter visa exempt) with extensions after your last stamp from the METV. Unfortunate but horse has bolted. -
Multiple Entry Visa Problems
DrJack54 replied to EveryG's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP, you misunderstood how a visa such as METV works. It's mentioned many times in threads that do not obtain it too early. -
visa exempt entries how many by air
DrJack54 replied to manfromcanada's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
There is no limit for visa exempt entries via air. However immigration is not happy with back to back ongoing visa exempt via air especially with short time out of Thailand. It would be very simple for Thailand to make clear set of rules however they prefer to play guessing games. -
That will work. CW accepts bank letter day or two prior to application (should be 7 but I wouldn't try that) . I asked about photocopies of bank book pages being accepted as recently in Nov my io wanted bank statements. She was young and incorrect. Had to deal with supervisor and even then made to make note on my paperwork that next time I would provide bank statements. Immigration needs a serious "change management" overhaul. Living in the dark ages.

30 day extension questions
DrJack54 replied to leosmith's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
1. You can apply earlier. Too late now. Most people obtain extension couple of weeks prior to expiry of current stamp. 2. Set an appointment. Works a treat. You can do walk INS. 3. Best to obtain an extension. Your permit expires soon. 4. Yes you can download TM7. It also requires attached photo. 5. Immigration may/will ask for a TM30. Obtain screenshot from your condo office. Flight not required. TM6 not required. Note: from the dates you provided means that you entered visa exempt. If obtaining extension in Bangkok you will use IT Mall Laksi. -
OP, nothing wrong with using an agent however obtaining a 30 day extension is very straight forward. Do you have a TM30 as that may be asked for. Might be better option to do it yourself. Be aware that since you entered visa exempt you would obtain the 30 extension at IT Mall Laksi. Very close to red line.

Bit uninterested in this thread. The OP has only one post in history and that was 20 hours ago when he started the thread. If he had been involved in the thread I would have asked if he had done a previous exit/reenter as required by a ME Non O. He could have shown that to the io. Personally I would not have left until the error was fixed. Sometimes other immigration offices insist that you return to where the stamp was issue. Not always as posts in the thread have indicated.

From the OP...... "I told her that this was wrong and I would only get 90 days, but she did not understand this, asked her supervisor, who agreed with her." Bit unfortunate that the superior not pick up the mistake but instead backed up the initial io. The OP should have stood his ground until it was fixed.

This won't be of much help, however here is my recent experience.... The io wanted bank statements for my extension retirement. Long story short she was very young and was in the wrong. I dealt with her senior and suggested that I would provide 12 month statements next time. She accepted that. l put it down to the old "save face" rubbish.

The OP mentioned "agent"... Pretty safe guess that no actual volunteering will take place.

Yes. As I mentioned in every post that I made ...the io will still process your entry. There is nothing new with regards boarding pass. Here is another thread if you can be willing to learn. I recommend all travellers to thailand and other destinations to retain their boarding pass to show immigration on arrival. Ignore time now.

First up have read of this current thread. Not the best but talks about boarding pass. Reason not interested in you post about your vast experience is that's it's incorrect. I have mentioned that the io will still process you on arrival however they do require it and just accept that you are not familiar with the process. Most likely due to many travellers not being aware of it. It was also required previously when Arrival cards (TM6) were required. It also occurs at other airports (not all) . I'm posting what is common practice and not your experience.

non o (marrige) single entry extension
DrJack54 replied to dirtybirty's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Suspended at airports. Still issued at land border crossings -
Don't even think about non O volunteering. Meaning one provided by agent. The grief comes later.

Second Re Entry permit in a calendar year
DrJack54 replied to fredwiggy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/en_US/web/guest/khai-thi-thuc-dien-tu/cap-thi-thuc-dien-tu Link for eVisa application -
Prior to covid I was flying every month to Saigon and back and many other places. For years. Most recent flight into BKK was December 6 from OZ. Boarding passes are always asked for. There are many folk that do not hand one over and are still processed. The immigration officers must be so tired of telling/asking people for them. The TM6 has nothing to do with boarding pass. Not interested in your experience.

Second Re Entry permit in a calendar year
DrJack54 replied to fredwiggy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Previously you obtained a "letter if approval" which you presented with pp on arrival and waited and finally they returned pp with one page visa sticker. This is for countries that do not qualify for visa waiver. USA and AU being 2 examples. Correctly only eVisa 30 day tourist visa is available and that's done online prior to travel. BTW you state that you have been here for years. Your visa is long gone. You are living in Thailand on extensions of stay.
