What are the current visa run options?
DrJack54 replied to ThLT's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
There has been reports of success for visa run to Phnom Penh and at this time possibly best option -
Given only 5 months in Thailand and one month out think you should be fine with visa exempt entry. Be prepared for any questions from immigration officer. Such as your plans for your 30 day stay. The airline where your departing my require an onward flight. Generally imm on arrival do not require that. Also not often require to show cash but you should have that on you.

There is limit of 2 visa exempt entry per calendar year via land. There is no limit on visa exempt entries via air. There is no such thing as "90 days every 180" limit.

No.

You can reenter with tourist visa. No rule on how long you were last in Thailand.. Is your plan to enter with TV or visa exempt. How long were you staying in Thailand previous to exit.

US Passport Renewal
DrJack54 replied to Yellowtail's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Good timing. Just a note to others...there is no "time limit" on transfer of stamps and visa info, you can travel (even international with both pp) and do the transfer when next time your need attend immigration for eg extension.. -

He is either using income method or funds in the bank. OP did not indicate any reference to 800k total deposit using funds in bank. You assume all the dosh is in bank. Perhaps not. -

Wait for an expert but my take on it is that without income letter from embassy (your UK) you have not provided the 12 monthly deposits. Think you should plan on having 800k in your bankbook if you plan to enter visa exempt and obtain a non O based on retirement. -
90-day report & Songkran
DrJack54 replied to unblocktheplanet's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Online 15 prior up to due date. Previously it was 15 prior up to 7 days prior. In person 15 prior up to 7 days post counting your first day as due date. Via mail think it varies on office. At CW they want post 15 days prior. Re your post...pretty sure (certain) uj does his reports via online option. Second never mention my name in same sentence as our #1 expert. Often my advice is bit off. UJ corrects all. -

Agent to Assist with 400k Funds in Bank
DrJack54 replied to stevenhb's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Just about your entire post is just your opinion. Very naive. The op title was asking for advice regarding agent. Indeed the guy you quoted is clearly seeking advice regarding use of agent. Please allow people to ask for advice. -
First up ta for the info on your experience. I highlighted the reference to valid non O-A. There are recent posts regarding length of insurance for various situations asking for advice. For example exit Thailand with a valid non O-A ( meaning has reentry without permit) and then return. Normally stamped in for 12 months. Same for eg PE (elite visa) trip out and return. etc etc. I would buy 30 day insurance for the above cases.

Bank account on tourist visa (in Cambodia)
DrJack54 replied to thecyclist's topic in Cambodia General Chat
I can't assist directly however here in Thailand opening a bank account is very easy using an agent . They get around the required residence certificate. Assume no different in Cambodia. I was doing a search for someone in relation to obtaining TV and many agents can assist with bank account. It's an option
