I can understand the debates about this. It's down the initial wording. Something along the lines "covid insurance for duration of stay" That was poorly thought through. So.....based on reports from many folk returning to Thailand with reentry permit and various periods remaining that purchasing 30 day coverage has been successful for obtaining TP and upon reentry are stamped in till date on reentry permit. Immigration at BKK airport won't be interested in your insurance policy.

That's correct. In similar way to the ME marriage. However excellent option for frequent travellers or good excuse for weekend trip to eg Saigon -
Agent to Assist with 400k Funds in Bank

That's correct. There was a guy (Peter Denis) used to refer to that visa often. Also (at that time) supposedly available in Savannakhet. Have never met anyone that has obtained one. -

You are referring to a non O based on retirement. It gives a stay of 90 days. That permission of stay can be extended by 12 months and that is generally done within last 30 days of the 90. At the same time you mention "unsure if that's a 12 month pure visa....." What your thinking of there could be a ME non O marriage. Previously folk obtained them commonly at Savannakhet. Cannot be obtained inside Thailand. Valid for one year. Or you could be referring to a non O-A. The later being most likely as your questions are concerning retirement. You also state this.... "Once got a London Embassy Longstay Visa ( 12 months) which I thought was Retirement but no actual conversion seen so maybe not, O or OA ?" What you obtained was non O-A. That visa is a multiple entry visa valid for one year and each time you enter you are stamped in for 12 months. Has insurance requirements. Can only be obtained in home country or country where you are a permanent resident. -

For some that involves a long trip. I live in Bangkok and tempted to tell gf that reporting can be done Soi 4 and must be done in person and due to crowds can take most of the day. -
Tourist Visa - Is outbound flight required?
DrJack54 replied to Optimodo's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That's what we wanna see. First hand experience.. Seems no issue. -
Sounds like you initially had a non O and then ongoing extensions based on retirement. No health insurance required. You will require covid insurance and that is available at your age. Your reentry permit can be purchased at immigration or airport on departure. 1000b single and 3800 multiple. Insurance to cover 30 days will be sufficient.

Tourist Visa - Is outbound flight required?

I'm a bit in the middle on this one. Thinking onward flight from "rent a flight" companies is fine to satisfy airline to issue boarding pass when flying visa exempt. If I was applying for eg tourist visa I would use your suggestion of a real ticket. I posted current ticket earlier in thread Bangkok to Saigon 1300baht is just one example. -
So condo all done. Land office settlement March 10 and tenants moved in yesterday. So happy with that. https://photos.app.goo.gl/JmPkgLnFPUfnkdvU7 Link for quick walk through. As mentioned earlier had townhouse become vacant week ago. It let on first day of inspection. Teacher. Not my preferred option as thinking those guys often move about with various work contracts but was best application. The reason for doing this thread about a small makeover was to share references for tradesmen. My experience is they are often found by word of mouth. That's when having a Thai partner comes into play. Such minor things can be frustrating. One stupid example was wanting a paint colour chart. Very different than eg Bunnings, Oz.

I'm not 100% convinced about using "rent a flight ticket" option. Works for proof for airline when flying visa exempt. For tourist visa application thinking they will look for the word "confirmation", that means fully paid for. I just Google cheapest throw away flight. One example Bangkok Saigon 1300baht. Not nice but will work. -

Snap! My window also opens April 11 Monday. I will be posting my report this weekend to CW. My understanding is that they don't even process them till your due date. In any event the post option will work fine. Euro style cafe on way to PO, mind you 80baht a pop. -

You won't be troubled at immigration with a tourist visa.
