  1. So your special. No one EVER asked for my TM30. (10 years) My most recent Nov last year. Things do change as that extension the doc check chick asked for a TM47. That was a first.
  2. Stop. Done 10 at CW. I have never even done a TM30 since I entered Thailand over 10 years ago. Happy to report back in October my failure due to not having TM30. Don't listen to Doc Check chicks. Ask to see supervisor. Are you referring to immigration officer asking for TM30 or the Doc check chicks. Ignore those robots.
  3. Your annual extended report. I am doing same in October. Can't wait to report back that TM30 was not required and my TM47 and lease was sufficient. If wrong I will post accordingly. Why you didn't book appointment is surprising. It works like clockwork. Unrelated but I did 90 report last Wednesday with appointment. Took 5 minutes.. Straight to desk and out.
  4. You know I'm not a fan .... However so agree with your post.
  5. Nonsense. Show me one example of where someone needs to prove that they are retired.. There are MANY folk living in Thailand on extensions based on retirement. They do not work in Thailand however certainly not retired in home country. My first 5-6 years I Thailand I stayed on extensions based on retirement. At same time had an active company in Australia. There are many various examples. Some guys doing 6/6 home country and Thailand. There are guys oil/gas living in Thailand on same extensions based on retirement. You state.... "The age of 50 is just a qualifying criteria." It's the only requirement. (Apart from financials) Over 50 can apply for non O retirement.... Regardless if retired or not. Seriously you are posting false information.
  6. There is no retirement visa.. You would be on extensions from a Non O based on retirement. Working in Thailand in NOT permitted.
  7. Please post this in "banking finance " forum.. Why do vast majority of USA guys use WISE.
  8. eVisa for Vietnam takes 5 business days. I obtained one in Feb. Very simple process. $25 USD. Just for others info.. Vietnam has now reintroduced the 3 month entry TV. (Aug 15)
  9. That's a nonsense. As with things in Thailand they abbreviate various things. The example here is non O based on retirement. Being retired is NOT a requirement. Perhaps Non O based on being over 50 would have been more accurate. All semantics. One thing is for sure ....you do not need to be retired. Aside from that I do not agree with OP and idea that you can work in Thailand on an extension from an non O retirement.

  11. Not in my book. Extension first or otherwise does not require to demonstrate funds from abroad. For Non O retirement applied for in Thailand then yes funds need to be from abroad. For Non O retirement obtained outside of Thailand then that is not required.
  12. Indeed. Completely overlooked first sentence where he obtained a non O . I have no idea why there was an issue for his 12 month extension
  13. Cannot understand the refusal with 27 days remaining. Did you ask to speak with supervisor As for first refusal thinking Phuket require 15 business days remaining, so understand first refusal. CM require 21 days. Folk need to find out what their particular office require. Out of interest what did you do after second refusal?
  14. They want photocopy of your original Visa. For example non O retirement. Immigration does not transfer Visas. They make notes in new pp to reference visa information. Such as type etc. TM6 is irrelevant.
  15. It depends on how often you enter visa exempt. For example previously some oil gas guys on month on month off roster were using visa exempt entries ongoing. Immigration will eventually tell them to get appropriate visa..
  16. Surely they told at Jomtien that you require certain photocopies of pages from old passport
  17. I'm Oz. We have visa exempt entry to Thailand and countries such as Japan etc. Australians require visa for Vietnam..
  18. Good choice. They won't have any issues with immigration. Does their passports have visa exempt entry to Vietnam?
  19. There are two completely different things. 1. A Non O based on retirement 2. 12 Month extension For the Non O obtained in Thailand the funds need to be shown to come from abroad. Not required if the Non O is obtained at a consulate/embassy. For extensions the money is not required to have come from abroad.
  20. Found the thread I was referring to uj posts. Not completely clear to me. https://aseannow.com/topic/1245491-dependant-spouse-with-extension-to-stay-based-on-retirement/
  21. Correct. Would it be possible for them both to obtain non O retirement in USA and after entry he applied for 12 month extension based on retirement and she applies for extension based on dependant. Vaguely recall ubonjoe posting something along those lines however perhaps I just misunderstood.
  22. If you are planning to live ongoing in Thailand you should obtain a Non O (retirement) in the USA. Your wife can obtain a non O and piggyback on your visa as dependent. If you enter with a non O visa you should be able to open account.
  23. Yes. If no time for Thai embassy to fix the issue a solution is given in the first answer. You could enter visa exempt and obtain a non O in Thailand. Do you have a Thai bank account in your name only?
  24. Is it just to my eye that speed bump looks excessively high?
  25. Not all immigration offices accept this. He would need to check with his immigration office.
