  1. Indeed. Mine rolls over (Kasikorn bank) however the % rate is determined by current bank rate at that time. I recall the bank Clerk apologizing for the rate going down. I had to laugh..
  2. Am I having a brain fade.... I've read reports of the wife picking up the passport from some offices without the husband with her.
  3. Yes. Think lot of confusion early on because the phrase "insurance to cover period of stay" was used. Clearly that was a no go for folk in your situation or for example those with non O-A visa. Many reports of those with reentry permit obtaining a one month cover and being stamped into Thailand on return up till their expiry of existing permit. In your case Sept.
  4. 30 day policy is fine. BTW you can buy your reentry permit at airport if that's suits you best.
  5. Not familiar. Think you stated you immigration not the most helpful. Don't worry best to obtain bank letter morning of attending imm office. I give the bank Clerk 1000 to deposit into FD account (minimum amount for deposit). Ask clerk to then make bank letter. Obviously the letter reflects the activity in account and update on day of application. That will satisfy any immigration office.
  6. I use FD account for my extensions. Personally I make 1000 baht deposit on day of application and obtaining my bank letter. I have over 800k in the account
  7. Works fantastic at CW. Absolute godsend. Can still do walk in, no appointment. When you make your booking you receive a confirmation email. Make sure you do hard copy print out to take with your other docs
  8. Our fav is Osaka. Not sure what the current entry requirements are for Japan. Some folk may not be aware that Thai nationals receive 15 days visa exempt for Japan. 5hr 40 min direct from BKK.
  9. I realize that you were after covid extension however note that even 12 month extentions can only be obtained up to 30 days early at most offices Couple of weeks early is the norm for extensions. Obviously with every end date for covid extensions many will try very early. Perhaps 30 days +
  10. End March 25. Call me crazy but I think they should be extended one more time till May 25. Hopefully by then some land borders will be open. They will announce covid extensions continue around March 24. It's a hobby of theirs.
  11. The agent doesn't know what he is talking about. If he gives this type of advise I would avoid him completely.
  12. I'm glad the OP took time to report his experience. The report comes as a warning to others not to apply for extension with many days left on your current permit. (30 up) OP, if you had read AseanNow you would be aware of reports similar to your experience.
  13. Immigration office may wish to see your TM30 when applying for extension. Even moreso if extension is "covid extension". Indeed for 30 day extension to visa exempt or tourist visa, immigration may skip TM30 requirement. Up to the office.
  14. Your plan will work fine. Prior to check in confirm with hotel that they will indeed file a TM30 and can provide you with screenshot of receipt of file. Take that with you to immigration for your extension.
  15. You summed it up pretty well. It's not difficult and especially for marriage extensions it's best to do it yourself. Regarding agents ...some straight up do not do extensions marriage. Far more complicated than extensions retirement. The OP has not indicated if 50+. He could start with ThaiVisaCentre to discuss. Plenty of others in Bangkok. Best to do it himself. If funds available can use any agent to assist with organization of paperwork. Just requires 400k in bank on day of application and 2 months + under consideration period for extension. Hardly difficult. OP, I pinched this link from ubonjoe post in topic about marriage requirements. Not difficult. Check it out. https://aseannow.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=830745&key=827d2f9c05cced9ace05cd766bb1605a
  16. OP, are you 50+. If yes use agent for retirement extension. Do you have your non O? Why not do the marriage non O and extension yourself. Surely not due to financial requirement. It's hardly a difficult requirement.
  17. A few months would be sufficient. I don't have an exact number but thinking 2-3 up would be sufficient.
  18. What happens is nothing. I had a back forth chit chat about this with member some time ago. Just happened he had reason to go to Jomtien next day. Perhaps 90 report, can't recall. He put this question to imm officer. To his credit he came back to thread and related that the io said that nothing would happen and they just look at bank book. The requirement was always a nonsense.
  19. Think your referring to Vietnam. Yep being Oz I require a visa. I sent the agent I used many times prior to covid. Haven't received and reply and on another net site the automated chat states what I'm after unavailable. In reality I'm just tyre kicking as I will wait till things are far more clear.
  20. As pointed out above. Simply show your bankbook. May as well make small deposit or just update. This is a rogue requirement from Jomtien. Nothing more. Certainly not a bank letter.
  21. When applying for a non O based on retirement inside Thailand you require 800k in Thai bank account on day of application. You need to show funds came from abroad. The exception is when the funds have already been in Thailand for some time. For a non O marriage this is not required.
  22. OP, when did you arrive in Thailand. Yes there was the amnesty period however that's long gone and people have been obtaining covid extensions. What type of stamp do you currently have in pp. When does it expire?
  23. What @KhunBENQ mentioned regarding transfers is important. Recently I had to move 3million baht here using WISE. Fortunately having Kasikorn account no issue. 2 transfers. My other bank account (different bank) had limit. Not practical at all. Only of interest for others with similar question is for anyone dealing with CW immigration, SCB does not have a branch there. OP, with the work permit you won't have any problem. Take along your lease if you have one. Cant imagine them wanting a residence certificate. Its not simple without WP..
  24. You do realize borders are closed in the practical sense. Already mentioned above is option to fly to Phnom Penh. Personally if I had permit running out, I would spend time somewhere else. Hopefully land borders will start to open. Vietnam hopefully open soon via air. Match 15 was thrown around but still no exact details.
