  1. Yes. Also you can obtain a 30 day extension to that visa exempt entry. You can do 2 visa exempt via land per calendar year
  2. I'm surprised with uj reply. Having said that, that guy never wrong. I would have typed that they will want to see your previous monthly deposits. Back to your previous extension. Apparently not.
  3. All I can think of is distance of travel to obtain embassy letter. Seems strange.
  4. The way it works is that YOU transfer the funds from your bank to WISE. Wise, prior to the transfer gives you exact "quote" with their charges clearly stated along with exchange rate. Wise then transfers to your designated bank in Thailand. Your bank in USA many have transfer limits and it's important to check all that out. AseanNow has a banking forum with threads on this topic. One example here .
  5. Your OP is basically correct. The bank letter confirms you are account holder and balance on that day. You will need provide bank book and photocopies to show 800k in bank for 2 months prior to application. Also need to bankbook to show monthly deposits from previous extension.
  6. Lot of folk use WISE. Fortunately Bangkok Bank is one of the few banks that WISE can transfer 800k+ baht in one hit (2million max). Need to make sure the transfer has FTT code.
  7. The OP stated this.... "Will I need a return ticket for either 30 or 60 days to enter on a tourist visa." He may require a return or onward flight for eg SETV. That will depend on the consulate. My point is that it does not necessarily have to be return. As far as airline goes for boarding if someone has a visa the airline will not require proof of onward flight. The OP has confused things by stating.. "30 or 60 day to enter on tourist visa" He thinks of visa exempt entry same as tourist visa. Just the same as folk talking about "visa on arrival ".. when they mean visa exempt entry. Regarding visa exempt the airline may require proof of return/onward flight. Most of which is splitting hairs. Move on.
  8. Irrelevant. My advice throughout thread has been enter Thailand visa exempt or tourist visa. Then obtain non O retirement and 12 month extension. ZERO insurance requirement
  9. ??. .That's what I stated. Return or onward flight if flying visa exempt.
  10. The 200 extra you paid is the "service fee" ... If you had provided the paperwork yourself you would be charged 1000baht. BTW I wouldn't recommend going through passport control then back to office etc. Even for special business class folk.
  11. You are scaremongering imo. Think you mentioned earlier you are/will be on marriage extensions. (may be incorrect) If you were not married you would be on extensions based on retirement. @BritTim and others have summed it up well. You are stirring things up for zero good reason. If/when there are changes to immigration policy I will deal with it when it happens. Won't waste time worry about "what ifs" in the meantime and I certainly would not post hyperbole in meantime.
  12. Same office. All it means is the io prepares the tm8 provides photo and the necessary photocopies. There is no receipt for the 200baht it's just a tip for their assistance. Personally never used it. I like to have it all prepared prior to going to airport.
  13. Scroll to top of forum. This is visas work permits etc..
  14. Think your question is for insurance forum. Not really visa related.
  15. Don't follow. If you fly to DMK you are given 30 day exempt entry. There is a free shuttle bus from DMK to BKK.
  16. Yes 24 hours. If early morning etc and office unattended (rare) just ask one of the immigration staff and they will sort it. Regarding DMK note that the office for reentry permit is just other side of passport control. When dealing with io you can see office just behind him/her.
  17. Very minimal paperwork. TM8 with photo. Photocopy ID page Most recent entry Current extension stamp. etc. BKK provide a "service option" for 200baht and they take care of all.
  18. Covid extensions are available up till July 25 and perhaps even after that. You should not have been required to show outbound flight but of course this sort of stuff expected from Thai immigration.
  19. OP, Don't do that. OP permit office is prior to passport control. Obtain your permit the same as everyone else does.
  20. You would be obtaining 30 day permission of stay from a visa exempt entry. You will have no issue. The procedure to obtain non O retirement and subsequent 12 month extension has been outlined in the thread. You will not require insurance. Ignore any advice that suggests that you will. Chill
  21. Yes to all. The area you are referring to is Zone 2. No issues.
  22. Bit depends on immigration office. Prior to covid I obtained a multi reentry every year. Wouldn't dream of obtaining another que ticket for reentry permit at CW. The airport works a treat. Have your TM8 already filled in with photo. Walk in the park.
  23. Good thing we don't give much time to guess work and what ifs. Well most folk don't.
