90-Day Reporting Start Date
DrJack54 replied to EdwardM's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Report due within 90 days after entry. Want to figure out the date that is exactly ninety days from Aug 5, 2022 without counting? Your starting date is August 5, 2022 so that means that 90 days later would be November 3, 2022. Can report 7 days late in person. Do it now. -
Convert O-A to O at Jomtien. MAJOR GLITCH
DrJack54 replied to Lichiyado's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yep. I Mentioned that earlier however the OP didn't indicate that would be an option..... "Another (ugly) option would be to apply in another immigration office. CW for example but that's messy and would require TM30 (change of address)" -
45 day visa exempt extension
DrJack54 replied to kwilco's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Prior to expiry of 45 day stamp you need to apply for extension OR exit Thailand. If you exit you can reenter visa exempt again to obtain another 45 day permission of stay. The 30 day extension. Is optional.. -
Extension of the 45 days on arrival?
DrJack54 replied to coralia's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You can obtain a 30 extension to your 45 day visa exempt extension at immigration office where you are located. You can exit Thailand and reenter via land (border bounce) or via air and receive another 45 plus that can be extended by 30. So just there we have 150days. Regarding on what is required for extensions....... TM7 form (with photo) Some basic copies of passport pages TM30 which is address notification (hotel can provide that) 1900baht. Entering visa exempt via air, the airline at departure may want to see onward flight. This is discussed in many threads with various options outlined. Not difficult. -
Why are many visas based on age?
DrJack54 replied to timoti's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
What a horrible post referring to "trollops" Record to enter ignore list. -
As was mentioned. The 800k on day of application for the non O is the norm but not available at Jomtien. There is a parallel thread running regarding options to season money for 2 months. Some options such as a border run is not suitable for your aunt. The 25k you mentioned is for the non O and 12 month extension. The next extension some approx 15 months later would be approx 13-14k . Here is link to OP post in the other thread.

Certainly an option, however I put myself in ladies situation. I would not want to burden my nephew more than absolutely necessary. Things will only get worse. Certainly the OP should get power of attorney. Along with that obtain the services of an good agent. Several good ones in Pattaya and I'm sure they would be familiar with dealing clients with various issues. Mobility being just one example.

No TM6 card on entry
DrJack54 replied to Laphroaig27's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Boarding pass has always been a requirement to hand over to io along with with pp and TM6 (currently suspended). In reality since so many folks are not aware of this and either dispose of it or whatever the io,s just skip it. Nothing new. -
Can't understand this thread. Posts regarding proof to show funds from abroad etc. This is an elderly lady in a nursing home with health issues. What about ongoing extensions etc. Mobility etc etc. She needs an agent. Agents can obtain the non O and ongoing extensions with or without the financials. Only difference is price OP, go and talk with an agent. I just recently did my extension based on retirement at CW and they stuffed up regarding financials. I obtained the extension but only by allowing them to save face.

Entry back to thailand
DrJack54 replied to pantsonfire's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Excellent. Good result. One of my earlier posts..... "Lot of mucking about. If your desired destination is Bangkok, I would fly to BKk." Glad you made it. -
Non IMM 3 month health cover
DrJack54 replied to taninthai's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP, take notice of option ubonjoe pointed out end of his post. Thinking that's best option. No insurance and no ongoing insurance for extensions. -
Seems obvious to me, but I'm assuming that he wants to return to thailand after what he needs to do on 12th etc. If no intention of being in Thailand after the 12th, then he could just exit with very short overstay. Edit: just read op again. His plan is to reenter Thailand. Obvious what to do.

Remote work and work visa
DrJack54 replied to Tigerdim's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
He wasn't residing in Thailand previously.. I can understand him asking the company to reside in Thailand. Don't follow why that request would be the other way round.. In any event not important. -
Remote work and work visa
DrJack54 replied to Tigerdim's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Only part of your post I'm bit confused about is the company specifically asking you to work based in THAILAND.. Having said that I cannot understand why you would have any issues. How would anyone know you are working. It's not as though you are in soi 4 selling ice cream. Keep your business to yourself. -
Convert O-A to O at Jomtien. MAJOR GLITCH
DrJack54 replied to Lichiyado's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Just an option. Lot of countries have visa exempt entry to Vietnam (15day). The cheapish flights from Bangkok to Saigon is a bonus. At front of airport there is bus that runs often to district 1 bus terminal. Cost $1usd The immigration office is close to Bui Vien st (walking street) very chill joint and lots of relax bars etc.. You need appointment now same at Vientiane. AM application PM pick up next day..
