  1. Completely incorrect. METV is only able to be obtained in your own country or country where you are a permanent resident. Also to exit and reenter Thailand with a METV has absolutely no consequences. As for this statement.... "Furthermore, it was getting more and more difficult to arrive in Bangkok on flights (i.e. the scrutiny of number of times arriving in a year" Absolute crock of. Stop imaginary posts.
  2. I was very guilty of that early doors. Almost offensive stating 400k for short period was minimal requirement. However lot of time under the bridge. Personal opinion is that married guys in particular by now should have obtained annual extension. Some immigration offices have been pushing this.
  3. Normally would not reply. Hardly a pillar. But thankyou. I'm too emotionally involved. Had several personal messages and they are generally flustered. I'm not happy with covid extension rules. Just wish Thai government (not immigration) would make requirements clear. Hopefully things will calm down and become clear in coming days.
  4. Thats perhaps your old system. Some for example obtained a METV and with extensions for each entry could ilk out 9 months. After that border runs visa exempt (2 per calendar year) etc etc. Can remain in Thailand long time. All relies on open borders. Fly to Vietnam and reenter visa exempt then with Extension another 2 months. etc etc
  5. Correct and imo how it should be. They have options. Use them. Obtain 12 month extension based on marriage or retirement. No need for covid extensions with option available. Hey T ...welcome back.
  6. Proof of what. Please explain. Your making stuff up. . "they are entitled to ask proof of that if they wish." Your not an immigration lawyer? Just a wild guess.
  7. Think you will find mail option also available for first report. Yes subsequent online is possible and yes 15 days prior window for report opens. Problem for many is no success online.
  8. Smile no problem. Being a fellow Ozzy I want you lose the lol. LMAO is not even up for discussion.
  9. They have been doing exactly that. Reports from both CW and MTT and Trat and others. Also Hua Hin wanting embassy letter (refusal of issue). Along with other offices being ridiculous. Keep Up!
  10. Fair enough. Tip: lose the lol after your posts. It's childish.
  11. True. The op has his own condo. In my case always just had a lease. So 10 years here in Bangkok and never done one TM30. Thanks for your posts re TM30 process.
  12. I already pointed out above that I mis read your initial post. Doesn't distract that your ongoing posts of ...."covid extensions will eventually end" is absolute genius.
  13. Dont stress when it's done. Just needs to be done prior to you attending for your non O.
  14. Ongoing you won't require TM30 reports. In future you would only need TM30 for change of address. As Richard has pointed out you need this for your non O application (since you own your condo).
  15. The OP is applying for a non O .. "I will enter on either a 30 day visa exempt or 60 day tourist visa. Plan to then apply for an O - retirement visa"
  16. OK got it. Shows how anger can confuse clear thinking. Guilty as charged.
  17. Just shows your lack of knowledge. Extensions are 1900baht, be that 30 day standard extension or covid or marriage/retirement 12 month. All 1900 baht. As for trotting out your standard line "covid extensions won't last forever" A brainwave? That's a given.
  18. Forget the phone call. Why is mail a problem. Reason I ask is that even if you go in person does not guarantee success with ongoing online reports. There is now a new online system for 90 day reports. Is that the one you tried. https://tm47.immigration.go.th/tm47/#/register/add
  19. .....Nup. Where does it state rules for obtaining covid extensions. As for io trying to help.....give me a break. BTW the affidavit resembles a kindergarten project. As someone pointed out ... this thread is about covid extensions. Some io have recently made the covid extensions difficult. They are low level clerks that should be best advised to follow what is in gazette rather than try to interpret it. What's the saying to sports folk.. "Play within your limitations"
  20. I laugh at these posts. Most will think this next bit is made up. It's not. Just now received messenger from Oz friend haven't heard from in years. Cut to chase. His now x wife just cut him after building house (her land obviously) and having child now 10. The x just basically stated that she only married for house and to have child.... He recently had parents over from Oz and my friend paid 1000aud just so his parents could see his daughter for her birthday. etc etc. The OP is welcome to pm. These posts of "get a good lawyer" are Dreamworld stuff.
  21. That's exactly correct. So for many it would mean covid extensions granting permission of stay up till approx late May. Hopefully by then some land borders will be open and covid extensions not required. In the meantime there will be some immigration offices making life difficult. They are minor clerks looking to feel important. If absolutely necessary using an agent can ovoid dealing with these megalomaniacs.
  22. I've been assisting few friends. One couple in HH. I'm upset with some immigration offices making this difficult. I would just use an agent. Extension added to end of current period and no under consideration period.
  23. Just wait and see how things pan out. Worse case an agents can most likely have it done. 5k
