CW and the Covids
DrJack54 replied to NoDisplayName's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Different from when I did it (not recently) When I went to make new booking there was a onscreen message in Thai. The gf translate to " if continue your existing booking cancelled" Obviously I just pressed continue. In any event you would just be a no show for first appointment. Don't worry about it. -

CW and the Covids
DrJack54 replied to NoDisplayName's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
My understanding is that if you proceed with new booking the previous one is cancelled. Re your next visit...I suggest you do nothing. There is a form (or was) where you tick the standard no boxes. You did the right thing by reschedule so good to go in 10 days. -
Question about TM30 and retirement visa
DrJack54 replied to MrNatural's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I use money in bank method for extensions based on retirement and deal with CW. Bank Book photocopies acceptable to show financial requirements have been met. Along with bank letter to show you are the owner of the account and balance on day letter issued. -

Yes to question about 45 days for visa exempt entry from Oct 1 till March 31. Extensions to those entries are 30 days Onwardticket.com is an options or throw away eg Bangkok to Saigon approx 1500baht another option. You could trying flying without onward flight and if airline insists ....step away from check in counter and book throw away flight as mentioned. Sometimes the airline will allow you to sign a waiver. -
Question about TM30 and retirement visa
DrJack54 replied to MrNatural's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The OP, is CW specific. With a dedicated bank account using money in bank method a bank statement is not required. Avoid quoting me it's tiring. The OP has already mentioned that obtaining new passport and subsequent new bankbook may have caused the issue for the io -

You have many option and clearly you have outlined a few. Be aware that the extension to visa exempt will be still 30 days even after Oct 1 when visa exempt entry increases to 45 days As far as your onward flight for visa exempt entry that would/may be required by the airline not immigration when you arrive. There are options to show onward flight discussed in many threads. You did not mention 60 day extension to visit wife. That can be applied for at immigration. You mentioned non O from visa exempt entry (also available in the states eVisa);..that gives a 90 day stamp and rather than 12 month extension you could tack on the 60 to visit wife. You also outlined border bounce and are familiar with that. Many options.

Question about TM30 and retirement visa

You have raised a concern. If indeed this was the reason for requiring bank statements then that could be an issue for many. -
Question about TM30 and retirement visa
DrJack54 replied to MrNatural's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If using money in bank method the 12 month bank statement should not be required unless you are also using that account as your everyday banking account and as a result some transactions can be consolidated. If it's a dedicated bank account for immigration purposes then photocopies of your bank book ages should have been accepted. -
Why not do a border bounce. More bullet proof. Not saying flight out and return visa exempt would not work but thinking not best option. If doing flight out and back option then spending some time out would be good idea . When does your permit expire asking since visa exempt entry goes to 45 days from Oct 1.

Question about TM30 and retirement visa
DrJack54 replied to MrNatural's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You are referring to 12 month extension and seems not your first as you mention previously they did not require TM30. Was this asked at doc check or by the io at L desk? With regards one year bank statement...are you using income method or money in the bank method. If income method, a 12 month bank statement would be normal. You mention Wife. You could obtain a 60 day extension to visit wife to give you more time. Applying few days after permit expires should not a problem. You would pay whatever overstay. Best to avoid that. As I mentioned extension to visit wife an option. You are aware that you can apply for extension at CW 45 days prior to expiry. Remember for next time. -
If I had to criticize one part of the whole hospital experience it would be lack of detailed instructions regarding rehab. Meaning guidelines of "do,s and do nots" Clearly I overdid it but at the same time was feeling fine and didn't feel I was pushing too hard. Previously was doing 5 repeats of a hallway walk and that amounted to 250m Did that 10+ times per day. Now I'm doing 2 reps which is 100m a few times a day. Back to square 2.

Four month in Thailand this winter
DrJack54 replied to Alidiver's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Your first entry via air visa exempt gives you 45 + extension+ border bounce visa exempt is another 45 + extension. Equal 5 months and only one border bounce. Leaves you with option for longer stay if required. -
Questions re OA visa application from UK
DrJack54 replied to Seagull Sam's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Non O-A...? Is that just to avoid the money in Thai bank requirements. What is the cost of the insurance policy that presumably would not cover your pre existing health issues. Entering Oct 25 visa exempt would give 45 day stamp. Enough time to obtain non O retirement at immigration and 12 month extension. No insurance for either.
