Irrelevant. The OP is fine with his stamp. -
Immigration Passport Stamp - Typo Error?
DrJack54 replied to FARANG KIWI's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It does mean what you suggest. You are fine. The "admitted up to date" is all that counts. Received mine last week. Has same spelling. -
Bumping your thread as you haven't had many replies. Excellent post above however hopefully someone can confirm recent report of obtaining ME Non O from HCMC. Strangely much more expensive than Savannakhet. I agree with first post re Saigon. Ripper joint and would choose that over Penang every day of the week. The Thai consulate office is small but very helpful. Vietnam bit strange right now. For those entering Vietnam and need a visa only have 30 day tourist visa. Mention this as you need recent report of ME Non O issued in HCMC.

You are correct. Don't recall even ONE report of not maintaining the 400k during under consideration period causing major issue. Have read reports of the io giving slight reprimand. I just suggest to maintain the funds during the under consideration period. All bit off topic as this thread relates to extension based on parent of Thai and I earlier apologized for my posts thinking it was marriage extension.

Why obtain a non O. One simple alternative....enter visa exempt and obtain 60 day extension to visit wife Also visa exempt entry can be extended by 30 days.

Moving from Laos to Thailand Visa options
DrJack54 replied to Sambo5000's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You just added this to your initial post. It deserves another laugh emoji. You know nothing about OP circumstances.... You state..... "not a good way to live with a kid" Seriously? -
Moving from Laos to Thailand Visa options
DrJack54 replied to Sambo5000's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Don't follow that at all. If child is Thai then you would think that the OP would mention that straight up. OP stated the following...... "Under 50. Hard to say for now, at least a few months"... How does schooling come into the discussion regards a 4 year old for "few months" stay. -
Entry worrying with Volunteer visa history
DrJack54 replied to Shueng's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No. Naturally your history is on file so to speak. You may receive the standard questions. How long you plan to stay. Why you come to Thailand. You come often. Where you staying etc etc. Helps to have clear replies. If visa exempt was not currently 45 days a tourist visa would be good idea, however not required as you have been out of Thailand for some time. No problem -
Moving from Laos to Thailand Visa options
DrJack54 replied to Sambo5000's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Personally can't see point of tourist visa vs visa exempt. 60 days vs 45 days. Both can be extended by 30 days. You are permitted 2 visa exempt entries via land per calendar year. Get one in 2022 and couple more in 2023. With youngster in tow choosing where to locate would be important. Especially with borders to Myanmar currently closed for border bounce. -

As you are most likely aware. Visa exempt is currently 45 day stamp . That ends March 31. You could consider couple of visa exempt entries via land borders. Also 30 day extensions are available at immigration one per entry. 1900baht. -

Are you 50+ How long do you hope to stay in Thailand -
Please outline where my posts contain "wrong information" 9 minutes ago, DrJack54 said: The 400k on day of application is for a non O based on marriage. The OP is applying for 12 month extension. Requirement is 400k two months prior to application and maintained for the under consideration period. Wrong Information

The requirements are clear. Why blame others for your mistake. You state... " I got my extensions in previous years even if the balance had dropped to 200k 2 weeks before my application." Amazing....you should not have been given an extension. You state ... "I've been getting this same extension for 6 or 7 years from CW and as far as I knew, there was no need for seasoning or requirements for time-sensitive minimum balances"... That statement makes no sense. The requirements are clear Might add very generous compared to financials for extensions based on retirement. You could apply for 60 day extension to visit family to fix up your mistake.

First up thankyou for the report. Not suggesting your account is not accurate so all good. As for boarding pass request from immigration that's just nuts. I accept you were asked for this but just crazy request from immigration. Regarding the reentry permit many offices would do that at a different counter and you would fill in the details yourself. Hence my comment that's not the norm as to advise others to prepare TM8 for separate process. Obviously done AFTER the extension process.

If you have a visa airline will NOT ask you to show onward flight.

E-visa process question
DrJack54 replied to MRToMRT's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You do not send your passport. Some info of process in this thread may help..... -
Many flights do not have online check in or "machine" at airport. Even ones that do often have final check at boarding gate. One example AirAsia to places such as Vietnam, Japan etc have final check at boarding gate.
-
Seems you have a very helpful immigration office. For a reentry permit that requires you to fill in a TM8. Sounds like they did this for you. Sounds like you obtained a bank statement this is separate from the bank letter. The bank letter is usually 100baht. You mention boarding pass. Think you mean TM6. (arrival card) You stated..... "Copy passport ID page + arrival/non O visumstamp and boarding pass"... You need more pp pages photocopies than what you outline..
