  1. If that's the case then you could do it there. However you would need to do a TM30 change of address to use that office. I had some friends from USA and same as yourself ran out of time with obtaining tourist visa in the states. . Came visa exempt obtained 30 day extension in Bangkok and then had trouble with immigration in Hua Hin for covid extension. Solution 5500 to agent and job done. The 5500 included the 1900 extension fee and no under consideration period. That's important. Your immigration office won't do the correct thing which sadly is the case in Thailand. They either want you to bribe (agent) or they just making their own rules.
  2. Even Krabi would be 4hr + drive oneway. Use an agent in Krabi. (eg Visa Plus)
  3. It works a treat. Make sure that you are 15 minutes+ early. Often you are seen early. Make sure that you take hard copy print out of your email appointment confirmation. Personally I like to go hour + prior to appointment to obtain bank letter etc. Walk straight to counter indicated on appointment Do not go to main desk for queue number.
  4. Only one 30 day extension per entry. So not possible to obtain 2. You could obtain a covid extension prior to July 25.
  5. OP, you have funds in place to obtain non O retirement then easy option is to return visa exempt. You can apply for non O shortly after arriving with 15+ days remaining on your permit. The non O gives you a 90 day stamp. In last 30 days of that permit obtain 12 month extension.
  6. Do you have 800k in a Thai bank account in your name. Is so you can apply for a non O based on retirement. BTW it's not a retirement visa. Seem to recall CM requires 21 days remaining on your permission of stay. You have more than that. Most offices 15+ is sufficient.
  7. You need back up. First I assume that you are now in Thailand. On your current stamp it states ... "Admitted till date" How many days until expiry of that date. Have you already obtained a 30 day extension to your visa exempt entry?
  8. You don't have a tourist visa. The stamp at entry would show that. Most likely you obtained 30 day exempt entry. Meaning NO visa. You can apply for a 30 day extension. The requirements to obtain a non O visa from that entry are clear.
  9. Very confusing. Sounds like you obtained a 30 day visa exempt entry. If you had a visa you would have obtained that at the Vientiane consulate.
  10. Indeed. I posted this at the start..... "Which immigration office " No response from OP and in fact zero contribution to thread. Every office has its own "rules". There is no one list fits all
  11. I do nothing. The receipt is in your phone. Take a screenshot. You do not require printout of receipt of 90 report unless you are applying for eg a residence certificate etc
  12. It appears the guy only booked trip to Phnom Penh as he thought an onward flight was required. Perhaps he intends to arrive with tourist visa and apply for non O and subsequent extension. No need to exit Thailand. Of course he could obtain his non O in PP if he wanted.
  13. I So to be clear you are flying with tourist visa and intend to obtain non O at Thai immigration. If you need to exit Thailand and reenter during the 90 days from the non O you can purchase a single reentry permit. That can be done at airport upon departure.
  14. That's your personal interpretation of reason for gov providing covid extensions. Which of course is irrelevant as it is in the gazette. Full stop.
  15. Prior to visa exempt 30 day permission of stay expiring you need to apply for "standard 30 day extension". Normally that would be done couple of weeks prior to expiry. A covid extension can be applied for prior to the 30 day extension ending. Again couple of weeks prior is common
  16. This statement from the OP. ....... "change visa type must be done while there are 15 days left on existing tourist visa, ie dont go to immigration with 5 days left on your tourist visa expecting to change to type O. Wrong! they wont allow it" Suggests the OP went without 15+ days remaining on permission of stay. An oversight on his behalf that requirement is nothing new. That was for non O. You are applying for 12 month extension. That's different.
  17. Yes 15+ days left on permit. Some offices even want more. Nothing new.
  18. You will get better advice in "banking finance" forum
  19. The information regarding your non O needs to be transfered to new passport prior to applying for extension. Can be done on same visit.
  20. The immigration officer wouldn't have a clue. Nothing will change apart from fact that some offices may pull some dirty tricks to force you to use an agent. At 5-5.5k not such a dire option.
  21. The 800k needs to be in bank on day of application for non O retirement. It is not a retirement visa. Are you planning to obtain 12 month extension?
  22. What is code in bankbook? FTT?
