  1. Bit off topic but may assist others (myself included as I want to visit Oz early next year and have a new 12 month extension) What insurance do you plan on since you will be stamped in on return for best part of a year.
  2. Thanks was aware of that. It's just with statements such as ..... "Heard maybe police check if apply in Thailand for OA visa" From same poster made me doubt he was permanent resident of Vietnam. Guess it's possible.
  3. He wants to kill off his non O-A and obtain a non O that will not require nonsense insurance for extensions ongoing
  4. Non O-A only available in home country. In your case UK. Same applies to METV.
  5. OP, you have no issues. Basically your steps are 1. Return with visa exempt entry. 2. Apply for non O retirement at immigration. That gives you a 90 day permit stamp. 3. With 30 days remaining on non O permit obtain your annual extension. Walk in the park. As to your other items such as passport renewal etc, that's up to you. Personally if it fits in time wise I would obtain new pp while in USA. That way all the stamps from date of reentry will be in new pp. No need to transfer stamps. Which immigration office will you deal with.
  6. First up here is report of extension retirement I did on Tues 2nd last week at CW You only need one passport style picture for ONE TM7 extension application form. Everything I was required to show is outlined in that thread. You will note that at CW there are banks on basement level. As outlined in report you can obtain bank letter on day of application and make small deposit. No offense but in future do it yourself. Nothing could be more simple. Seriously read the list of what I provided and you will see how easy it is. Note that there is stall that does all photocopying and photos etc. It's on same level as banks. One last thing ...SCB does not have a branch at CW. Edit: I just realized I posted you link to same thread we are in. Time for coffee.
  7. Now I feel ignorant. I had to Google String Theory. In physics, string theory is a theoretical framework in which the point-like particles of particle physics are replaced by one-dimensional objects called strings .... Keep in mind that in my yr 12 physics we used slide rules. Visa matters are fluid due to the sentence many type... "every immigration office and officer can have their own rules"
  8. Nothing like it. Completely different requirements. BTW....."I was referring to the initial in-country Non-O, I am not even sure if the remain available for the purpose of immigration." NON O based on marriage is available at immigration inside Thailand.
  9. Apart from passport type photo that goes on back of TM7 extension form, no other photos are required. The photos you describe are for extensions based on marriage. Which immigration office are you using?
  10. What's your country passport? You obtained a non O-A in HCMC?
  11. He is lucky normally costs...... Once you renounce your US citizenship, you will no longer have to pay US taxes. However, the US government does charge a fee of $2,350 to relinquish citizenship Seriously a thread advising how to obtain a TP and help with issues has now reached 50 pages in One week. To think that these questions etc are coming from often IT savy folk just shows how's messed up and difficult it is. I read posts of "being incognito mode" using "edge instead of chrome" etc etc. How does the run of the mill punter plan a trip to Thailand. Absolute joke.
  12. OP, yes your 30 day visa exempt can be extended by 30 days. Cost 1900 baht. Be aware that after that if covid extensions are still available at that time then a 60 day covid extension may be possible after the 30 day extension.
  13. At least your embassy assists you with providing that. Oz embassy does not (heads up for any AU folk). Think all their money went on new embassy digs in Bangkok. Ah Kanchanaburi....lovely place.
  14. Yep have read about these backwater offices. Which one. Care to share. They need kick up the backside. Do they check for TM30 when you do your extension. Should not be required.
  15. Rules regarding TM30 requirements changed. You are no longer required to file tm30 if returning to your usual residence after inter province and international travel. So you can stop doing that.
  16. I don't use agents or have a PE. I do extensions and over period of 10 years have found immigration officers very pleasant and requirements minimal. 90 reports via mail. Simple process. In fact same could be said for my experience obtaining drivers license and recently obtaining my vaccination shots and in general dealing with life in Thailand. People helpful and friendly.
  17. Have no idea what your point is. Yes I could earn money with the 800k by having it in shares. Depends on your financial situation. I don't need to look at opportunity cost of having money in a bank. The 800k goes to my partner when I fall off perch along with much more. 800k baht is $32,000 aud. Hardly sheep stations when a good Car would cost more.
  18. You need letter from bank. They should be familiar with what is required. It basically confirms that you are the owner of the bank account and also shows balance. I prefer to obtain it on same day that I attend immigration, however few days early is acceptable at most immigration office. Also update your bank book by making a transaction on day of application. I took a picture of my letter in case this question arose but think I trashed it. Ubonjoe has posted sample bank letter in a thread. Will try find it.
  19. OP, how long do you hope to visit Thailand and when are you planning the trip. The covid extensions will almost certainly be extended. If you come late Nov you could arrive visa exempt. That gives you 30 days and with 30 day extension you will then be able to obtain covid extension towards end of January. That would give you another 2 months. Effectively remain till late March. Hopefully after that some land borders will be open. Indeed if you only want 3 month stay then obtain a SETV and extension. 60+30. BTW if you travel visa exempt you will require insurance for only 30 days.
  20. For heaven's sake. I do the transfers myself online. You have distracted the thread enough. The OP asked about a transfer of 800k your suggestion would be worst possible option.
  21. Can lead a horse to water...... Folk that transfer funds from home country to Thailand do it from anywhere with online internet banking. Naturally they use companies such as Wise. Keep an eye on the OP. He wanted to transfer 800k baht. Not huge but no one would do that using a bank.
  22. Think you might like to compare with dedicated transfer institutions such as Wise (formally Transferwise) etc.
