  1. They will not inform you via "letter" What is issue with providing cell #
  2. So to be clear ...you are not in Thailand but rather Canada. So what were the photos you mention earlier about. Yes enter visa exempt and obtain a Non O Process explained here. https://aseannow.com/topic/1311886-visa-exempt-to-retirement-extension-process-and-cost/
  3. 1.They didn't mean Renew the O-A. They meant obtain 12 month extension to your permission of stay. That can be done ongoing. 2. They always state obtain Tourist Visa to obtain Non O in Thailand.. Not required. A visa exempt entry is satisfactory.
  4. A non O-A is valid for 12 months from date of issue. If you exit and reenter Thailand just prior to expiry of the Visa you will be stamped in for a further 12 months. Note the "second year" would also require insurance and would no longer be multi entry if wish to exit and reenter Thailand. No wonder it was popular visa prior to insurance requirement
  5. Is that serious. Thailand has some of the most flexible options to live in this country. If you had chosen to obtain a Non O retirement in home country you could live here ongoing with extensions (no insurance) Perhaps poor planning
  6. So to be clear....what's the plan? To live in Thailand ongoing? You basically have two options. Continue obtaining Non O-A in your home country. Each Non O-A can provide a 2 year stay in Thailand. (explain later) That requires purchase of insurance for each year. OR You can kill off your non O-A by exiting Thailand in the "second year" You can then obtain an eVisa (non O) outside of Thailand. However better option is to just border bounce to kill off the Non O-A and reenter visa exempt (no visa required) You can then obtain Non O at local immigration office. After that the subsequent 12 month extension. No insurance requirement. Edit: fixed up typo Upnotover pointed out.
  7. It's not the TDAC (Thailand digital arrival card) Seems she applied for an eVisa. However that can't be correct at her trip is in Aug. Also what visa could she be applying for?
  8. No one is. Slated for May 1. Don't bet on it. Just keep an eye on announcements.
  9. Exactly and he specifically mentioned Twice per year. Visa exempt entry perfect for his needs.
  10. I just use WISE. The condos I have purchased have in the main been the 3-4mil baht range. Wise transfers have restrictive limit (50k b) to many banks. The limit per transfer to Kasikorn and BBL is 2 mil baht. So two transfers. Done.
  11. Negative Posts from OP removed. Continue and thread closed
  12. That can be luck of the draw. The OP has a Visa so onward flight is not required.
  13. Going slightly past thread... Be aware that your 90 day report clock starts from date you obtain extension.
  14. Yes Many do that and it's a good option. Since you have the Non O you can just transfer the 800k into Thai bank account. GF has nothing to do with it. If you need to open bank account that's possible as you have Non O entry. Bank may require a "certificate of residence" I keep typing same information and for some reason there is confusion. There is NO Multi Entry extension. There is a 12 month extension of your permission of stay. If you wish to exit and reenter Thailand during that permission of stay you need to buy a reentry permit. Simple. That's just confused gobble de gook
  15. OP, You can enter Thailand visa exempt and receive a 60 day stamp. Be aware that airline at departure may ask for an onward/return flight. My guess is that with the short visit (eg 40 days) you will have a return ticket. Note: Jetstar almost always require flight out of Thailand..
  16. @ThaiVisaCentre do any agents assist with obtaining extensions where travel to immigration not possible due to age, mobility etc
  17. No clarification is required.. This was @Thingamabob FIRST post in the thread....... "In happier times. a long time ago, immigration officials, if requested, would visit the homes of sick and disabled foreigners for the purpose of granting extensions of stay etc" It was clear to him and everyone else that this thread is about options for extensions etc when one becomes frail and perhaps even bedridden. Your tangent regarding home visits for under consideration period is nothing to do with the thread. Not even remotely. You incorrectly jumped onto term "home visit"
  18. OP, no offense however this has all been covered in your previous thread here: https://aseannow.com/topic/1349037-o-a-multi-entry-visa-from-uk-insurance-and-bank-balance-oddities/ Apart from answering questions regarding onward flight.... the process of obtaining the 12 month extension and financial requirements was outlined.
  19. With a visa (single entry Non O) you will not be asked for return/onward flight by airline at departure or immigration upon entry to Thailand. Assume it's eVisa. Make sure you print out hard copy. Show that to airline staff at check in and immigration upon arrival at passport control. BTW: You will enter on the Non O and be given a 90 day permission of stay stamp. In the last 30 days of that stamp you will obtain a 12 month extension. It's NOT a Visa. In order to exit and reenter Thailand you will purchase a reentry permit. Available as Single reentry 1000b OR Multiple reentry 3800b The reentry permit can be obtained at local immigration office or airport on departure. Aside: do you have a Thai bank account in your name only?
  20. I have read reports advising that they were told to obtain flight to Thailand however subsequently been allowed to enter. Reports of having to stay 2 nights. Have not read a report of refusal to enter Thailand at Nong Khai after staying couple of nights. ".....no exceptions you are now forced to go to the airport ...." Nup
  21. Their Facebook link doesn't seem to be working. Give this a try.... https://www.facebook.com/share/1V4UMpb27x/ Scroll down to "safe airport entry services"
  22. The guy @Thingamabob you replied to stated the following..... "In happier times. a long time ago, immigration officials, if requested, would visit the homes of sick and disabled foreigners for the purpose of granting extensions of stay etc." Throughout the thread he and others are addressing the thread, not home visits regarding under consideration marriage extensions.
  23. Wife needs to attend for changing from marriage to Retirement is explained in this attached thread. Also the thread has links for that change general advice....
  24. I'm not dealing with any advice in this thread or other thread from OP. https://aseannow.com/topic/1352340-re-entry-visa/ Seems to be asking hypothetical questions.
  25. You mention that your friend can start transfers Aug. Extension due Feb so he could show ~ 6 transfers. Should be sufficient. No doubt there will be reports well prior to your friends renewal. Worst case scenario for others would be to border bounce and start over with visa exempt entry. Not being rude to your friend however there will be many with income method (letter) that have not followed the actual requirements. For example used irregular much bigger transfers every eg 3 months etc. Canadians just like other countries citizens that do not provide embassy letter can still use income method. Don't think immigration can help with advice at this point as would not be aware of any "amnesty rules" even if there will be any.
