Latest carmaker to scale back its EV ambitions amid slowing sales
JBChiangRai replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I don't think the subsidy has any effect on the price, it's just more profit for the automaker to encourage them to build factories. You do post some claptrap, I wonder what it's like living in your alternate reality? -

I paid 30,000 baht to have my Merc increased by about 15%, I thought that was a bargain. -

We have gone from 6% to 15% in 7 months, I'm not ruling out 30% in 6 years. -

No, they are falling flat on their face when there are no sensibly priced Chinese EV's available and people are expected to pay a premium for older tech with legacy badges on the back. -
Hybrid vs Turbo petrol new car choice.
JBChiangRai replied to Pattaya420's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
The Turbo is the better car, the Hybrid is a gimmick and too complicated. If you really want power, have the ECU chip replaced, they are good for 200+hp, I wouldn't go too far beyond that as the gearbox is not up to it. -
Latest carmaker to scale back its EV ambitions amid slowing sales
JBChiangRai replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Absolute nonsense. EV sales are mostly increasing, UK 23% last month, Norway 94% last month. Thailand 15%, USA up 22.9% from Q1. The only country I know with a hiccup is Germany dues to changes in subsidies. -

Electric Vehicles in Thailand
JBChiangRai replied to Bandersnatch's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Forget last year, we are living in this year. Since & including February of this year, each subsequent month has recorded a higher percentage market share of EV's. And conversely, since & including February of this year, each subsequent month has recorded a lower percentage market share of ICE cars. So much so that now almost 1 in 6 new cars sold is an EV. STOP trying to mislead people. The EV revolution is here and it's happening now. -

Factually correct information can be misleading. Your stats would imply that people are turning away from them and choosing ICE when in fact the reverse is true. I asked AI for an example of something factually correct that is misleading, and here's one you might find amusing Headline: “Electric Vehicles (EVs) Have a Higher Carbon Footprint Than Gasoline Cars.” This statement might be factually correct if it refers to the carbon footprint of manufacturing EVs, particularly the production of lithium-ion batteries. However, it can be misleading without additional context: Lifecycle Emissions: While the production of EVs might have a higher initial carbon footprint, their overall lifecycle emissions (including use and disposal) are typically much lower than gasoline cars due to zero tailpipe emissions. Energy Source: The carbon footprint of EVs can vary significantly depending on the energy source used to charge them. If the electricity comes from renewable sources, the overall emissions are much lower. Technological Advancements: Advances in battery technology and recycling methods are continually reducing the carbon footprint of EV production. Comparative Impact: The statement might not consider the environmental impact of extracting and refining fossil fuels for gasoline cars. Without this context, readers might wrongly conclude that EVs are worse for the environment than gasoline cars, which isn’t the case when considering the full lifecycle and potential for renewable energy use. Here's one of mine, your use of statistics whilst factually correct might lead one to believe you are intelligent, which is misleading because you're clearly as dumb as a bag of rocks. Only joking Vinny! -

IIRC I quoted you Thai, Norway & UK stats, all of whom gave a growing market share of EV’s. I don’t understand why you keep posting factually incorrect posts. -

JBChiangRai replied to Bandersnatch's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Vinny, please stop posting factually, correct but misleading information. We all know that the market share of EV has increased every month for the last seven months and at the market share for ice vehicles has decreased every month for the last seven months. So say it like it is, EV‘s are stealing an ever increasing market share from Legacy vehicles. -

I'm detecting a bit of jealousy here. I think two of the most powerful EV's out there are the Tesla Model 3 Performance and BYD Seal Performance and they are both accomplished at handling 500+ hp. -
