  1. There is usually 12v DC available in the openers electronics and a pair of contacts for a push button to open the gate. If you find this, just add the device below and connect it to your WiFi, download the eWeLink app and configure it for 1 second inching and away you go.
  2. I have a couple of dozen Sonoff devices, some added to Siri for voice control. When I arrive home I just say "Siri Gate" and my gate opens, "Siri Garage" and the garage door opens. Outside & some inside lights track dusk throughout the year. Grid-Tied inverters are on Sonoff breakers. Roof void extractor fans, if it's useful, I've already automated it. I tried to take an approach of one device per control circuit. I won't always be here and I want it to be easily maintainable by (say) a Thai electrician with their usual level of knowledge (sic).
  3. GSB is I think the bank that allows children, from memory it's 6 or 7 years old, but DYOR.
  4. Anything to do with EV fires is not welcome on this thread, it's not because of you but rather others who raise it and one troll in particular who tries to raise it regularly only for the mods to delete it and warn him. Be happy to know that EV's are about a dozen times LESS likely to catch fire than most ICE cars and 130 times LESS likely to catch fire than (say) a Toyota or Honda Hybrid. If you want to debate, there is a thread specifically for it.
  5. He probably thinks plastering confused emoji's on all my posts makes him look intelligent. What do you think? Cue: confused emoji
  6. I think it’s a bit early for Sodium, they haven’t hit mainstream yet . The issue I have with Sodium and LFP is the number of cycles. They might only last 10 years. They could be costing you up to 2,000 baht per month. There are LTO packs available on AliExpress that will last a lifetime.
  7. I had the 1st dose of Shingrix on 27th August and get the 2nd dose when I return from holiday after 27th October. 10,000 baht in total for the course at Prachanakroh Government Hospital in Chiang Rai. I felt pretty bad on 28th August 😞
  8. You might want to look at lithium titanate (LTO) batteries, they are much better suited to Solar ESS. You can typically get 20,000 cycles and many inverters will support them, they have a relatively low energy density, which is not important for ESS
  9. @ExpatOilWorker you posted a "confused" emoji, what is it that confuses you, I will be glad to explain it to you?
  10. Are you saying you drive 600-700k without a break? Or are you saying you make journeys every day but only go to the dino juice store every 600-700k?
  11. Can I have some of what you're smoking?
  12. There are none so blind as those who do not want to see
  13. We should be so lucky!
  14. If you prepay at least you WILL get your refund, if you were scammed on COD you're screwed.
  15. Why don't you post the even worse ICE figures demonstrating EV's market share is increasing every month for the last 7 months, go on, what holding you back?
  16. And ICE sales numbers are even worse because EV sales are growing and stealing market share from ICE. You can be economical with the truth Vinny, you do like misleading people.
  17. You are not allowed to open the package before paying COD.
  18. Sometimes you don't get what you ordered, you get something worthless. It's shipped by the person you ordered from, but lazada won't help because they canceled the order because he never confirmed it was shipped, instead he shipped junk to you personally. COD is a risk, prepay is risk free.
  19. In 2024, global sales of electric vehicles (EVs) are continuing to rise. The first half of the year saw a significant increase, with sales up by 20% compared to the same period in 20231. By the end of May, over 5 million EVs had been sold worldwide1. Projections for the entire year suggest that around 16.84 million EVs will be sold, marking a 21% year-over-year growth Electric Vehicle Market Trends: EV Sales and Outlook in H1 2024 | Nasdaq Global EV Market Analysis 2024—Trends and Forecasts (abiresearch.com)

  21. And global sales are increasing month on month.
  22. Let's look at that failing EV adoption rate shall we? Q2 in USA up over 20% from Q1. Norway now 94%, Thailand now 15%, UK now 23%
  23. So, if I was to sum up the COD / No COD debate. If you order COD and check against your records and check Lazada confirms it's shipped - it's safe. or If you prepay your order - it's safe. Seems fairly clear to me which is best.
  24. Yes of course, that's why for the last 7 months running the EV market share has dropped, oops, it hasn't it's grown. An inconvenient fact.
  25. It's far safer to never order COD. Ours is a busy household with deliveries every day, sometimes 3 or 4 deliveries for different people. We have a rule, no COD, if something comes COD then we know it's a scam. It would be far too complicated to try and keep a record of orders, and even if we did, we would have to keep an eye on Lazada to check something was actually shipped to avoid the not-shipped, lazada-cancel scam. Unless you record that it's shipped/track delivery process, you can still get scammed. The seller has your address, he only needs to send you something fake direct and wait for you to accept and subsequently lazada cancel the order. Never use COD is by far the safest way, no need to keep spreadsheets, you don't need to proactively track orders, just pay and wait. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
